Hi. I make Homebrew campaigns but i mostly trouble on finding good and/or interesting names. I want some help for short simple but fun campaign names for one of my new upcoming games. The campaign is about the players arriving back home on a train after a large war broke out, but the place is completely drained out of resources to get back running again fully. Once the players help with a side quest they stumble upon strange things happening that hint at the BBEG, a puppet master who can control people. The players must leave and find a rare shard of crystal that can kill the BBEG, but the train breaks leaving the players to find the parts to fix it and save the world. The rest is not fully done but that is a basic overview of the campaign. Please help out with sharing some great name ideas. Thanks, and keep DMing!
I really don’t have any good ideas that encompass the whole of the Campaign - being Mind Control and Railroads if I understand correctly? Initially I was thinking, “A Matter of the Mind,” but it doesn’t fill me with a sense of either anticipation or foreboding. If you don’t mind my asking, is there a specific reason you need to name your Campaign at the outset? I usually just go with some kind of placeholder myself. By example, my next homebrew Campaign will feature a plot that is ultimately about usurping power in both Hell and the Abyss by two allied but unique “persons,” and so I’m calling it The Gathering Dark. It’s not what I would call perfect but it’s fine until the Players have done a few session.
Mending Motherland, Menticide, and a Maddening Mechanical Mishap at the Motorway.
As much as I love alliteration, you need to think about what you want the campaign title to tell your players. A good title can set up foreshadowing, set certain expectations such as what they might be fighting/doing, and much much more.
Gah. Even I slipped into alliteration there at the end...
Instead of offering that bit of insight, how about "Train Keeps a' Rolling?"

I usually like to name my campaigns so they feel more complete in a way. With a title it can almost predict slightly on how it might play through, and leave players on edge wondering on how it ties into the story. I made a campaign called Red Moon, and about after a couple sessions the players would figure out at night in a certain town a red moon appears turning people into monsters and them forgetting about it in the morning, So the title Red Moon kinda foreshadows the fate of how it will play out. Hope this helps a little, Thanks.
