Ethereal chains spring from anything this magical javelin hits, binding and tethering it to the ground. A creature hit by this javelin must make a DC 13 Strength saving throw, or its flying speed (if any) is reduced to 0 feet for 1 minute. An airborne creature affected by this spell safely descends at 100 feet per round until it reaches the ground or the effect ends. At the end of each of its turns, the target can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. Once the javelin hits a creature, it becomes nonmagical.
The javelin struck the dragon in its underbelly as it swooped overhead. Chains vigorously burst from the wound and snaked downwards, burying themselves in the earth. The dragon roared furiously as it lurched to a halt and began descending, like a fish on a line. Jimena hefted her battleaxe and grinned at her prey. Now that the beast and her were on the same playing field, she could really get to work.

GAH!
Really cool, terrifying. Maybe I won't keep trying to destroy that mole who's been terrorizing my garden.
Just realized I hadn’t posted on here in a while, still seriously loving the items. You can really tell the amount of quality that went into these, it’s great, I love em’. Anyway, I’m here for my annual request of more weirdwood items, and more symbiotic items/items in the Venom Carnage style. I’m definitely considering doing the whole patreon thing, because I’d really love to support you… and get access to the monsters…
Edit: Also, did you ever make the final version of the revenant blade? i was looking around for it earlier and couldn't find it.
Too often I've seen dryads portrayed and twig-thin. It's nice to see someone willing to recognize that other body shapes exist; even for trees/tree spirits.
However, I'm not sure this is the best thread for it. While it is named "Items & Monster Art", it was started by DungeonStrugglers as a means for promoting their own works.
Bandolier of Many Knives Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
This leather bandolier has eight daggers sheathed in it. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with one of these magic daggers. Unless it is being wielded by you, a dagger removed from this bandolier vanishes at the end of your turn and reappears on the bandolier. You can draw a dagger from the bandolier (no action required) as part of making an attack with it.
Fan of Blades. As an action while wearing the bandolier, you can throw all eight daggers at once. You must have a free hand to do so. Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 8d4 + 8 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Once this property of the bandolier has been used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn.
An engraving on the inside of the bandolier reads: “A knife for each of your problems.”

I want you to know. You are going to lose. You are going to lose badly. You’re going to lose badly and it’s going to be awesome.
Once on each of your turns, when you hit a creature with this magic sword you can curse it until the end of its next turn. Whenever the cursed creature makes an attack roll or a saving throw, the creature must roll a d4 and subtract the number rolled from the attack roll or saving throw. This curse has no effect on a creature under the effect of the bane spell. A remove curse spell ends this effect and grants the target immunity to the sword’s curse for 24 hours.
As the jagged, inky-black sword pierced into her side, Ofélia actually felt her life essence escaping. The sharp pain between her ribs was diminished somehow. Rather, a hollow ache spread from the wound, draining her will to fight and muddling her mind. The deathless creature advanced, its lipless grin shining in the moonlight as it cackled and stabbed wildly. Just barely did she manage to disarm the thing and flee before its shambling pursuit could catch her again.

Sick! this is such a cool way to incorporate what I had thought was kind of a waste of a spell slot into combat mechanics. Also, really easy to flavor. you guys are great at making simple, easy to use items that still have a ton of depth and playability. Keep up the good work!
ps, it'd also be cool to see a higher version of this that inflicts a worse bane curse of some kind, but also inflicts some kind of cruelty curse on the user (maybe it's sentient idk). Maybe you can choose to keep stacking the curse but the more you do it also affects you more and more, sort of like a reverse vampiric touch.

not sure what you mean. they've been doing so for a while, unless you meant something more specific. but the Bandolier of Many Knives and the Pillum of Plummeting were both recent posts and magic items.

no, you're good. they take breaks occasionally but generally post about 3-4 items a month (generally). The amount of content they've put out has varied, but if you're new to this thread I seriously recommend checking out their old stuff.
Also, they obviously can't make money on this site, so I think they're more active on Patreon and socials. Not a bad thing, they deserve pay for the awesome work, just clarifying

They should really have a Table of Contents, so we can get all of their awesome work in one place. With this many pages, it gets tricky to navigate.
We offer a table of contents and a searchable/sortable google sheet with all of our content as Patreon rewards. Check it out if you want the ease of access, items formatted like cards, monsters stats, etc! (Thanks to everyone for showing an interest in our work, it means the world to us. It takes a lot of time to write and illustrate these, so we have to paywall a bit of the content and quality-of-life features to cover expenses.)
