Your party awakes to find themselves in a large castle chamber, suddenly a tall demonic figure appears. A humanoid figure with red skin and massive horns approaches you. "I am Suriuk the mayor of Stathford. My associate tells me you are the cause of the demonic presence here in Stathford. Now personally I hate demons and I will do anything to get rid of them."
Basically this is an intro to a fiend themed campaign I'll be running, I attempted to mix the "the king has summoned you to kill a monster" cliche. With the "You're party finds themselves trapped in a dungeon." cliche. My grammar will obviously be much better for the game and the intro will be more lengthy then that but I was hoping to get someones opinion on this.
PS I've already talked to the players and none of them are playing evil characters involved with a demon, so that means the party will have to convince the lord of Stathford that they aren't involved with a demon.
PPS The players will also receive harrowing visions of a doomsday like event to come which is why the lord thinks they're involved with a demon in the first place which is also a third cliche thrown into the mix.
Sounds like a solid intro. Hard to give further feedback without knowing what the story is beyond "fiends".

I agree with Aithen. The best part is it's different and open enough that you could make it as original as you want.
