Hi there, first time posting so please excuse any awkwardness!
So my group is just about to finish Lost Mines of Phandelver and I decided to try Dragon Heist for the next step in their adventure. They enjoy roleplaying and I believe they’ll get a lot of fun out of this module.
I’ve already figured out the hook to pull them to Waterdeep and am in the middle of figuring out how to add connections to other elements of the previous adventure, but I’m not sure on how to go about increasing the combat difficulty for them.
This is made even more complicated because of the party makeup. There are only three pcs(there are only two people I dm but because Phandelver was the first time I had dm’d and their first time playing, they have a third character that they control together) and none of them can heal. They’re a conjuration wizard, an assassin rogue, and a champion fighter.
Obviously this isn’t an ideal party, but they’ve managed to survive so far and I’m hoping to keep challenging them and hopefully figure out some helpful items for helping in regards to healing.
So, any suggestions on enemies to replace or multiply and such would be really appreciated, thanks so much!
Add class levels is the easiest way to increase power. Consider 1 Class to be equal to a +1 to CR. You can also look at the individual monsters and find an equivalent of higher CR. Look through and record the changes you make.
