In my previous session, one of my players got cursed with lycanthropy due to a werebear and am looking for tips on how to implement it while making it not just a pure stat benefit but has a curse as well.
Once or twice an in-game month, tell the player, "Your character wakes up in the middle of a field. You are naked, covered in dried blood, and feel very full and satisfied. What do you do?"
Tell the rest of the players, "Sometime during the night, your companion slipped out of the room, leaving their gear behind. You notice shouts and screams from the street outside. What do you do?"
First, there is the issue of a character, without any gear, who has to work out where they are and then find their way back to the party.
Then there is the issue of townsfolk with torches and pitchforks.
