I’d like to have a monster that has an effect something like an aura of reckless attacking.
Such as, if you’re within this range you make a WIS saving throw. If you fail, you must recklessly attack. Maybe something like healing is reduced or not possible within the aura
The idea behind it is the monster brings out some bloodlust in the creatures around it and they try to kill the things around them without regard for themselves. I’m having trouble thinking of the appropriate words though.
I'm thinking more along the lines of they know who the enemy is and just keep going after them. Kind of like a euphoric feeling while attacking the enemy, and not being able to stop fighting them.
For the first, the affected characters have to move towards an enemy and take the attack action. This could use some fine tuning, but unless its for an effect that's going to be repeated regularly, it should be fine.
For the second, the affected characters get advantage on any attack rolls made with strength and all attacks against them have advantage. Lets them act freely, but incentivizes attacking and makes them more vulnerable.
Sounds very interesting! Kinda sounds like war from supernatural when he just walks through cities and everyone attacks eachother while under a hallucination. What kind of monster did you want this creature to look like?
I was inspired by The Thrill from Stormlight Archive. I really like the idea of just everyone getting advantage on melee attacks. Maybe some kind of feature where they have to make a save to not attack if able?
The monster is a general of a demon army that was captured ages ago. It’s a Rapunzel story where they have to go rescue a princess from a tower, only they’re going to free this demon posing as a princess.

I'd check out the Confusion and Enemies Abound spells or the Flesh Golem's berserk feature for some inspiration.

Cavalier fighters get to mark creatures, forcing the enemies to attack them or suffer some consequences. That might give you some inspiration.
