So my group is an old school group that recently shifted from 1E to 5E. We're working our way through Storm KIngs Thunder, but I don't like how it just kind of ends around 11-13th level.
My thought was to break out my old Rod of Seven Parts box module and continue there. The idea being ... the breaking of the ordning happened because of the Queen of Chaos's influence ... She's gainign strength back, etc .... I would put the first piece of the rod in Iymrith's loot ... end with level 19-20 characters having to get the final piece from Miska in Pandemonium and finish him off for good. I could see influences from various forces ... good and evil ... to put down the Queen of Chaos for good.
I was curious about stages ideas for the various pieces. In the box set piece 2 is held by an Aboleth ... i like that encounter/adventure idea. You can build a nice challenge around one of them and their minions. The other ideas from the box set haven't thrilled me much and I think I want to generally be done with Dragons and Giants after SKT ends.
Some of my other thoughts included mind flayer, beholder, lich .... creatures that might have some sense of just what they have managed to acquire. Maybe there could be something not so smart that got lucky but it's too powerful to be easily robbed of it.
Anyway .... interested in ideas. I figure I'll want to have a good 4/5 villains for the group to need to defeat.

Beholder; elder brain; Acererak in lair, because if they can survive SKT, they can survive anything; roc on top of a mountain. . .
