I'm considering allowing Eldritch Invocations like Agonizing Blast, Repelling Blast, etc (Invocations that only effect Eldritch Blast) to effect another cantrip instead.
Specifically, either Booming Blade or Green Flame Blade.
Given the damage output, reduction in range, etc... I don't see any real issues with it, but I'm looking for input in case I'm missing something.
It could definitley work. You will have to consider the specific strengths of Booming Blade and Green Flame Blade. For example, giving Booming Blade a "repelling blast" option may be strong, since if you push the creature away from you, you basically say 'hey, if you want to attack me again you need to move closer' which would almost guarantee the secondary feature of booming blade activating every round.

Echoing Blade: Prerequisite- Booming Blade A creature sheathed in booming energy by your casting of Booming Blade takes an additional 1d8 thunder damage if the target willingly moves 5 feet or more before the start of your next turn after casting it.
This evocation would empower the cantrip's secondary effect, but still require you to make a creature willingly move to get the added benefit.

While I get the power of that, is it really any more powerful than a standard blaster's ability to hit / move a target multiple times with one cast of eldritch blast? At least in this case, it can only hit once per round...
I'd say the same of the utility behind Green Flame Blade and Lance of Lethargy...

To be honest, I am not entirely sure. On one hand, you should get power out you invocations for sure. On the other hand, you get to (almost) guarantee the secondary effect of the cantrip without having to maneuver or take any other actions like you normally would have to with the cantrip. But, as you said, it might be just fine. Its just the sort of thing to consider and I wanted to caution against applying any of the EB invocations 1:1 with BB without first thinking about the implications.

5th Level Warlock, single target, assuming every attack hits:
Option 1 - Eldritch Blast with Repelling Blast, 120' Range: 2 beams at 1d10 each. 20' feet of movement. ~ Average of 10 damage, 20' of movement
Option 2 - Booming Blade with Repelling Blast, Melee Range: Weapon Damage (1d10 for argument's sake), +1d8 thunder damage, 10' of movement. Option for 2d8 damage if the target moves. ~ Average of (5 + 4) 9 Damage, 10' of movement, + Average of 8 points of damage if the target moves (up to the DM). Total of 17 Damage, 10' of movement.
5th Level Warlock, 2 targets, assuming every attack hits:
Option 1: Eldritch Blast with Repelling Blast, 120' Range: 2 beams at 1d10 each. 10' of movement ~ Average of 5 damage, 10' of movement to two targets.
Option 2: Green Flame Blade with Repelling Blast, Melee Range: Weapon Damage (1d10 for argument's sake), +1d8 fire damage, 10' of movement. Second Target (within 5') takes 1d8 + CHA bonus, 10' of movement. ~ Average of 9 damage, 10' of movement to target 1, 6 (4+2) damage and 10' of damage to target 2.
So in each case (Booming Blade, Green Flame Blade), we see a slight uptake in damage dealt, but limited to targets in melee range, versus increased range and battlefield control with Eldritch Blast... it's interesting.
I'm looking for some consensus on this -

Where it starts to get really interesting is when you add Lance of Lethargy into the mix as well... although you can say the same with Eldritch Blast.
