Hi, I don't post often but I'm completely stuck. I'm trying to add in an unarmored movement bonus. My original plan was that it would scale. extra 10ft at 2nd, 15ft at 6th, 20ft at 10th etc. However, I just could not get any combination of things I tried to actually work. I used (Bonus -- Unarmored movement -- fixed value 10) for the first one in this case, but when I tried to add a level scaling (required lvl 6 fixed value 15) it never worked. It would only display the original 10ft granted.
So I thought, okay, what If I did 8 + Proficiency bonus + spell level. Only the +8 would show up on the sheet and no bonus. I'm unsure how to make it work.
The only way I've found too add a level specification to the modifier is if I make it a new class feature that replaces the level 2 version. But, I'm not sure what went wrong there.
I have the first Feature for 2nd level made with the modifier - bonus - unarmored movement - fixed value 10, and that works. But when I created the second class feature for level 6, same bonus - unarmored movement - fixed value 15, then said it was a replacement feature (replacing the second level one) not granted... But somehow it added the 14 bonus to unarmored AC and I have no Idea why.
No, don’t make them as “replacement” features, that’s what’s messing it all up. They all have to be “granted” features that just add on top of each other.
What probably went wrong is that you accidentally used the “Unarmored AC” subtype instead of the “Unarmored Movement” subtype.

So you want at L6 unarmored movement to be +35, it would be easier to make it granted at L6 +5 movement which should add to the already +10. if you keep it as replacement it would get rid of everything related to the replacement trait you have set as replacement and only give the new traits you have listed under that replacement.

I dont do much with sub-classes, but you could just create the trait and give it granted options at the levels you want. So at level 6 option you would do +5 to unarmored bonus and so forth and so on. At level 6 it would automatically grant the additional +5 and would be easy to toss any other things you wanted to make scaling this way by just adding it as a granted option under the trait. Each level would need it's own option.
This worked out for me! I just made them as new class features that add the +5 instead, and then just hide in builder and hide in sheet so it didnt overlap funny.
Though I have a new question for someone. Is there a way to create a mana pool in homebrew similar to the ki pool? (Where its basically like ki points that needs to be spent, but a way to represent that on the character sheet.

The modifier won’t scale. You need to use the +10 modifier, and then add another modifier at 2nd, 6th, 10th, etc.

Yes, they are “limited uses” attached to an Action.
