I recently made a feat for Cure Wounds to kind of make it more versatile in casting. I think that I'll be able to use that rule as core foundation for a healing monk subclass. Basically, the subclass will give access to casting Cure Wounds with Ki Points, and the benefits of my homebrew feat,Healing Radiance. I'm still not decided on what further abilities will be unlocked, but I figure, I will try to stay in the front-line support lane and offer some useful features over time.
Well, first let me point out that most healing classes are going to need access to Restoration-class magic as well as possibly Resurrection-class spells. Druid, cleric, paladin, celestial warlock and divine soul sorcerer all have access to them. Less so on the resurrection front, admittedly; its not entirely necessary for many games. Still, the point is that healers need more than just HP restoration.
In keeping with the Wu Xia nature of the monk class, I would recommend going with the alchemist route - potions and medicines seem to be a big thing in many asian fantasy stories. Using herbs to purify the mind and body. Maybe toss in some acupuncture needles (darts) as a delivery method? Could also include some poison, since its the flip side of medicine, but PC poisons are terrible in D&D.
Sounds all great to me, thanks for the hint. Yeah, and I'm of course aware that Healing is more than just Cure Wounds obviously :) My Celestial Warlock goes full healing, so I took Restoration too. Revivify, I was a bit split about, but well.
I too have been thinking about something similar to a healing style for monks. I was thinking more along the lines of stabilizing a downed character. That stops them from make death saves. Then later in levels has the ability to radiate a small healing aura in area around you to heal a few d8+ medicine skill. Just a thought.

Hey Eisenfuchs, are you aware Wizards released a UA monk subclass with some healing?

It was called the Way of Tranquility. I thought it may either save you some work homebrewing a new one, or give you some ideas for your own!
