So, I've tried a few various homebrew items, a race a feat and a magical item, but ive noticed that in several cases speed modifiers fail to display on the sheet. Namely if I'm trying to set up something that gives a flat bonus only one speed. Say for example, a cloak that gives +10 feet fly speed, (designed to stack with a flying race, but also give non flying races a 10ft fly speed at a concentration) it works for a bit, then abruptly stopped after i edited the wording on the homebrew. Then refuses to display. In fact it wont even allow me to manually override the speed modifer on the character sheet.
I tried removing the item re equipping it, toggling attunement, even dropping the mobile feat in case that was causing some snafu, but it just refuses. Not sure whats causing it to wig out like this, was using a homebrew avariel winged elf subrace but switching to Aaracockra didnt change it either.
I also had a similar issue a while before trying to set up a race with different base speeds in climb swim. And walk speeds, but I think that was more just me not understanding the difference between bonus speed and set innate speed.
I’m not seeing the cloak working at all on that character sheet. I see the winged elf trait granting a flying speed equal to the walking speed, and I see the Mobile feat increasing those speeds by 10 ft. That’s all I can see functioning.
Go back to your magic item and make sure it has the following modifier:
Then re-save the entire magic item, wait 20 minutes and remove the item from the character sheet and then add it back to the character sheet. If the item has been published then you first have to remember to remove the old version from your collection before you add it back to be character to make sure you don’t inadvertently add the old version.
Ive tried that a few times already, but just to be safe I tried it again, exactly following steps. No change. The modifier has been on the entire time. And as i mentioned I cannot even use the manual speed override on the character sheet, i punch in 50ft. It still displays 40. But notes the custom source of the speed.
I did try swapping to Aaracockra to see if a different race would work for it, but it didn't seem to. And as i said, it *was* working for a little bit. Till I went to go fix up the item wording a little.
Doubletripple check your Modifier. What might have happened is that you had the correct Modifier and saved the whole project locking that Modifier into place, then changed the Modifier but didn’t re-save the whole project, so the changed Modifier didn’t register until you re-saved the project again after changing the wording. If that modifier is correct then it must be a bug on the backend somewhere causing it.
I have. More than once, even gone in, changed it, saved, then changed it back, saved, checked again, it displays the right modifier in the editor but just refuses to apply it.
And again, I cannot even manually override the speed with the sheet tools
Did you resave the whole magic item after you removed the extraneous Modifier? After that did you try removing the item and re-adding it to the character? Have you tried the cloak on a different character?
I did yes, every time, twice to be sure. And i always remove and re add.
I did not try stick it on a different character because none of my other characters have a fly speed, but at your recommendation i did it anyway, and it seems to work. So i might just need to scrap the character and roll it from scratch again because changing race didn't fix it on the affected character.
Tried new character. Same problem immediately. Tried rolling them as an Aaracockra, same problem, tried using manual speed override on the character sheet as an Aaracockra and as the homebrew race. Still locks in on 30ft fly speed. And wont raise
So, I cannot discern where the problem is. The character it works on is just a tiefling i gave a homebrew wing feat to to test with. So I am exactly where I started
Weird. Very Weird. Submit a support ticket, the link’s at the bottom of the page.👇 It’ll probably take until mid January at the earliest before they get back to you. Please lemme know what they say so I know for next time.
Just on a hunch, I tried swapping it to the legacy Aaracockra. Not the new MotM version. And it works fine. So I'm guessing its a hiccup with races having certain fly speeds. Will post the ticket and update as they do.

Oh, right, that would be smart.

Go back to your magic item and make sure it has the following modifier:
Modifier: Bonus->Subtype: Speed (Flying)->Fixed Value: 10
Then re-save the entire magic item, wait 20 minutes and remove the item from the character sheet and then add it back to the character sheet. If the item has been published then you first have to remember to remove the old version from your collection before you add it back to be character to make sure you don’t inadvertently add the old version.
If that doesn’t fix it post back here again.

Its really quite weird
That is really weird. It might have something to do with how that homebrewed race is set up.

I noticed you have two modifiers attached there:
Try deleting that second modifier and re-saving, that might be the culprit.
