Okay, so I thought of this because I'm gonna DM a game soon and I wanted to throw any potential dragonborn players a bone because I don't like the standard breath weapon they get, so here's my pitch: the breath weapon damage stays as normal up until level ten or so, then it becomes as strong as that of a wyrmling dragon. After that, at about level fifteen, it becomes as strong as a young dragon, showing increased proficiency and practice with the breath weapon. Dragonborn still only get one use of the breath weapon per long or short rest. I wanted to get as many eyes on it as possible because I want to try and make a rule that would, again, throw my potential dragonborn players a bone while also not being too overpowered. Any feedback is appreciated!

Use the rules for Dragonborn from Fizban’s Treasury. I think that’ll satisfy your needs.

Oh, thanks! I don't have Fizban's yet, so I didn't know there's something for this.
Happy to help.
