So I've noticed lately that when offering the players a choice between two or more proficiencies from a homebrew race, you cannot generate a specific list of proficiencies to choose from. Rather you can just assign them a list of generic full list of Int, Wis, and Cha skills to choose from. Is there a workaround for this or the chance it might be remedied in an upcoming update?
I tried that, but every time I "save" an option it will load up the same options page, now blank, and the new option is not added to my actual list of options for that trait.
Creating an option works a lot like creating a feature. You have to name it, give it a description (very annoying when you just want to give a proficiency), and then create modifiers (or spells or actions, etc) for it.
In this case, you want each option to have a modifier that just provides 1 skill proficiency. Just name the option the skill, and make the descriptions "you are proficient in [skill]" then repeat for each option you want available. Do not check the "is granted" checkbox and leave the "level available" option blank. To let them choose 2 options, on the feature there is an "options available" box, put "1,1".
Just made the trait from scratch and the option is there now, but for some reason I don't have a "add a modifier" box in the modifiers section under the option itself. Not sure if me being on my phone at the moment might be affecting this however.
Okay, so I'm really new to D&D Beyond, and I'm homebrewing a race that automatically has a proficiency in Perception and Stealth. How do I get a race to automatically have a proficiency in something. And if I have to add through the "Bonus" option for Racial Traits, how do I make the bonus equivalent to (or actually being) the proficiency bonus. Please help... 😥

Well met! Welcome fellow adventurers, to Waterdeep! Ignore the drunken dwarf trying to flip off all the giants in existence and the Tempus-worshiping bounty hunter setting homes on fire with a flaming boat. If you see them dropping short swords on Citadel Felbarr, don't be worried. It is a usual occurrence.

You can create options as a work around.

Ya, was doing most of that and it wasn't working.

I am familiar with that. Turn the phone to landscape orientation, and it shows up.
I'll be damned....
Thank you for taking the time to help me out!

Add modifier - proficiency - skill name (or "choose a skill" for any skill). Boom done.
Thank you soooo much!
