I have a couple questions regarding homebrew creation on DDB.
1. Is it possible to create racial groups to group homebrew races to make the character build screen cleaner and easier to use?
2. I understand that it can take (at times) a period of time for updates to a homebrew feature to become updated across the board. Is there any fix or workaround for this to ensure quicker updates?
3. Is there a forum post or collection of posts that help provide advice and direction for homebrew with regards to trickier issues like actions, spells/spell lists? And not just for the generic use.
Appreciate any assistance - apologies if I've missed an existing post.
1. Sadlier, it ain't possible to group homebrew race together. But if you create Variant or Subrace, they can be grouped with official Races
2. First, make sure to hit save both on the feature your updating, then on the overall class, monster, or whatever. THen it can indeed take time to show up, a workaround I know is to clean your browser cache.
3. Yes, the pinned forum post in #Hombrew & House Rules will help you with a complete guide to homebrewing on ddb.
If there is a particular thing that you can't figure out, just make another thread and someone should be able to help.
The thing that gets asked the most is probably limited use actions not working. You have to save the action once first before the limited use charges can be set.
It's a shame there isn't a feature in line with question 1. I like organization. I'm just starting two projects where I'm adding some races from third party sources into DDB. It would have been cool to sort of do what they did with VGtR where they're all filed under "lineages" (should really be Gothic Lineages because I think it's a bit presumtuous that book will be the end and all and be all of WotC lineage experiments), so I'd have "world X races" and "world y" races. This way when I or someone in my campaign is doing a build for these worlds (they could simply go to the homebrew list rather than having to have the 3rd party source in hand to be aware of all the options). It just seems like being able to create "racial or lineage groups" would lead to more robust implementation of homebrew rather than the present system where all a users homebrew are basically just an alphabetical index.
Was this sort of feature ever requested?

Countless times. I don’t know how much you know about the homebrewer, so stop me if I start mansplaining, but it isn’t a homebrewer. Like, at all. It’s the same system they use for the official stuff, but we only have limited access. (We’re “users,” not “admin.”) It was never designed for use by the public at large. Here’s the situation… no, that would take too long, let me sum up:
Everything was broken for so long because they couldn’t fix it.
Then they did several major behind the scenes overhauls backtobacktoback, which led up to them launching the character sheet framework update. Then they did some more backtobacktoback behind the scenes overhauls that they didn’t generally talk about. Now they can start fixing stuff, which they are doing. And WotC keeps ramping their schedule. So the homebrew overhaul keeps getting bumped. I mean, they’re doing it slowly. As they upgrade they system on their end they’re fixing it. It’s mostly the interface that will need a revamp. How it works is unimportant, it’s how it interacts with us that people notice.
I also get the impression that we have possibly been moved to our own cloned system separate from what the Devs use at this point. With what all they’re doing behind the green curtain, the glitches we’re seeing are rather nothing to what I would normally expect. For the kinds of upgrades the system requires to implement the stuff they’ve been doing, I would expect the ‘brewer to be having rolling brown-outs/black-outs and it isn’t.
So it’s “on the list,” but it’s a looonng list, and who knows where it stands in line for priority. 🤷♂️

Don’t fib. It’s at best a “beginners’ guide to the basics of how to homebrew on DDB.”

ElekTriik already did a good job answering 1 and 2.
To expand on 3, there are a bunch of stickied posts in this subforum for homebrew stuff:
