I'm starting up a campaign with two players and one of them came up with the genious idea of making a lollipop her weapon of choice. Like, one of those big flat ones.
I tried talking to the player, offering them the possibility of maybe having the lollipop as a spiritual weapon instead of a real one, but they won't back down.
So, basically: How do I decide on the stats of a giant lollipop?

If you want it to be balanced, it should do the same damage as a club if one handed or greatclub if two-handed.
If you want to embrace the silliness, I'd make it a greatclub that looks like the following:
Sucker! Weapon (greatclub), rare
Whenever you hit a tiny creature with this nonmagical weapon, the creature must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or become stuck to sucker and restrained. It can repeat this saving throw at the beginning of each of its turns.
Proficiency with a greatclub allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

Okay I actually love that idea. I'll offer my player two options on this thing, but I think they'll love the second one.
Thank you:)

Are they proficient in martial weapons? If so, I suggest reskinning a greataxe or a battleaxe.

It depends on how silly you want it to be.

I had to upvote that last one, just for the image of tiny creatures becoming stuck to the weapon on impact.
