True, but how would I homebrew Guenhwyvar specifically. From what I remember from the books, could summon a lot, had something like truesight, very tough and strong, and had very sharp claws.

It also killed an elder brain on its own in the second Drizzt book, IIRC.
I'd have it be able to be summoned every 12 hours, and have a 30 ft. range of true sight, and use the Panther statistics from the Monster Manual, and count as a sidekick.

Okay. I think we've already figured out the rules for it, just use the Sidekicks UA, make it recharge every 12 hours, and have truesight to a range of 30 feet.
Beware giving players figures from books, or movies, as it can function well as a cameo, but long term it is hard to sustain this.

No need to worry...My players looked at me with a blank face the last time I brought up Drizzt Do'Urden and all they said was "is he that drow mentioned in the PHB?"
I'm open to ideas.

The panther was conjured by a magic item originally - specifically a Figurine of Wondrous Power.

The figurine itself might even be an artifact, perhaps with the ability to replace the users animal companion with Guenhwyvar.

Then shouldn't it be stronger than a regular panther?

It will be stronger than a regular panther if you make it a sidekick. It will scale with the characters.
Also, why do you want it? Will you have Drizzt in your games, or do you want to give the Guenhwyvar?

I want to give my players Guenhwyvar.
