I had this idea for a creation myth for a homebrew world that I am trying to create, and I would like your opinions, along with which canon D&D world/setting bests match these ideas. I am looking for a setting in which there are two creator forces, darkness and light.
The Light is one of the primal forces of the universe, and its gender is female. The light represents the totalitarian rule of law, ultimate order and purity of all things. Light is locked in an eternal war, with her counterpart; The Darkness.
The Darkness is also one of the creative forces of the universe. It is a creator force responsible for the creation of things. The Darkness creates, and The Light brings order to those creations, allowing life to exist and thrive in an otherwise chaotic universe.
In the beginning; the darkness and the light existed separately, but worked together. The Darkness created and The Light brought order to those creations. Eventually though, after millennia, the light grew jealous of the darknesses ability to create life and desired it for herself. The darkness; for his part, grew tired of his creations being subject to the whims of light, as he wanted them to be free to choose their own fate and forge their own path, not be governed and controlled by what he saw as arbitrary laws that were preventing his children from reaching their true potential as chaotic beings. Squabbles broke out between the darkness and the light, over which was the right path to take, order or chaos; they argued back and forth for ages, but could not reach an agreement, and full-blown war threatened to break out between them. Realising that a war between them would destroy everything they had built together, and with the darkness not wanting his children to be destroyed, and the light not wanting to see the destruction of the order that she had created, the two beings decided upon a compromise, they would do something that they had never done before; they would have a child together. The child that they would create would possess both the powers of darkness and the powers of light, and so the two primordial beings; came together, and with the mingling of darkness and light, the first God was born from their shadow. They called him; Twilight, and instructed him in the use of his power and gave him the task of bringing balance to creation. Where his mothers light shone too brightly, he would bring darkness and chaos, and where his father's darkness threatened to devour all things, he would bring order and light. He was not to create anything, only to bring balance and to this, he swore.
At first, Twilight worked alone, as he had been instructed. However; finding it almost impossible a task for one being, even one as mighty as he, and growing lonely in his solitary endeavours, he broke his oath to his mother and father and created the Old Gods. Darkness and Light were incensed by their son's betrayal of his oath to them and told him to get rid of his creations. He refused, saying that they assisted him in the tasks required of him and alleviated his loneliness. When his parents threatened to destroy his creations if he did not bow to them and did as he was told, Twilight; the first of the Old Gods, stood his ground and defended that which he had created, saying that they were his children, and if his parents harmed his children, he would fight to protect them. To which the primordial beings replied that they had given him life, and if he stood in opposition to them, they would take that life away.
Twilight bowed to the great might of his parents, and agreed to destroy his children, but asked for time to say goodbye to his beloved creations. Believing that they had convinced him to do as he was told, they granted his request and left.
However, that was not the end.
Rather than saying goodbye to his creations as he had promised, Twilight used the time he had been given, to forge mighty weapons made from his own flesh. Thirteen of these he gave to his children, and the greatest he kept for himself. When his parents again returned to ask their son if he had done what he had promised, he proudly stood before them and told them that he had not. This time, he would not be given another chance, he had broken his oath and then broken his promise, and his parents would destroy all that he had created, but Twilight shrugged and said; "I told you that I would defend my children, I had hoped it would not come to this, for you are my beloved mother and father, but now you leave me no choice" and drew his weapon. Brandishing his mighty sword, he continued; "see this, forged from my own heart, a weapon of darkness and light, fight me if you will, but you will find my children so armed, and I promise you this; it will be them, not you who emerge victorious from such a contest."
Enraged by their son's direct challenge to their authority, the two primordial beings who had created him, now pounced upon their child, intent on destroying him, but using his sword he fought them back, striking great blows against each. Realising the weapon that their son now wielded could hurt them, they retreated, to forge weapons of their own and in doing so, declared war upon the Gods.
The battle between the gods and the primordial beings of Darkness and Light was tremendous and terrible. So powerful were the blows that each struck against the other, that the sound rang out across all creation and shook the very fabric of existence to its core, but finally, after millennia of bloody and brutal conflict, the Gods pushed Darkness and Light to the very edge of Nowhere, where they were trapped and imprisoned for all time. Locked away in an alternate realm, from which they could not escape, and where they would be doomed to fight each other to survive. Ensuring that neither one would ever be strong enough to break free of their prison.
The war was finally over, and just as Twilight had promised, it was the Gods who had emerged victorious.
Despite achieving a great victory, there was no time for rest or celebration, as the war had been devastating to the lesser beings, who either existed before the war or had been created to act as soldiers during it. Much needed to be rebuilt, and trust needed to be restored and to accomplish that, Twilight set about creating the New Gods. Great and mighty beings, though lesser than his first creations. Once he was done, Twilight divided up the duties of his now banished mother and father between the New Gods, placing them under the guidance and supervision of those of his first children that remained, and together with the Gods; the old and the new, set about restoring and rebuilding all that had been lost in their struggle against Darkness and Light.
When their work was finally done, Twilight summoned all his children before him, and kissed each other upon the forehead, blessing them and telling them that he was most proud of them all, before fading away and retreating into slumber, for the battle with his parents, the creation of the New Gods, and the restoration of all that had been lost had left him tired and weakened. He desired now, only to sleep, and so to his children; he entrusted the care of all that was, and all that would be.
As the ages past, the lesser, younger races forgot about the Gods and their great struggle, and those who remember consider it to be nothing but a fable. However; they would eventually come to know the Gods once more, as the Gods fought wars and conflicts of their own, often involving those lesser beings, but that, is another story.

So, that's it, that is what I have in mind, and I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions, criticisms etc., along with any thoughts you might have for what canon D&D world or setting, that matches up with these ideas. The idea is to create a homebrew world, without having to create all the creation myths and lore from scratch.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post, and thanks in advance for your comments, thoughts etc.
I can't think of a 5e adventure module you could retheme to it, but the themes of order and chaos remind me of the lore of the Wind Dukes of Aaqa.
You might want to look for an adventure module with either a lawful or a chaotic villain, who can play one of your Light or Darkness factions, at least.
A planescape setting sounds nice, but you could invent your own custom planar cosmology. I immediately think of the ancient Egyptian Ogdoad. It consisted of four male / female pairs representing abstract attributes:
Nu and Naunet - sky and water
Hehu and Hehut - infiniteness
Kekui and Kekuit - night and day
Amun and Amunet - hiddenness
You could have these be your primordial deities. They could belong to different planes
Nu and Naunet - planes of sky and water
Hehu and Hehut - astral plane
Kekui and Kekuit - planes of night and day
Amun and Amunet - ethereal plane
Your Old Gods can be the more earthly legendary gods Isis and Osiris, Seth and Nephthys, and Ra.

A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
Well, by definition if it's a homebrew it doesn't really fit any canon setting since those already have their own creation myths.
This seems pretty cool but please move this to story and lore.
Check out my homebrew subclasses spells magic items feats monsters races

help create a world here
