Morgana nods. "Good. Let's be quick of foot, then."
The slender human woman moves just behind Quendar, following along to the right. "Mmm. Grace. This collection you mentioned, is that one floor further up, or hiding in another room, or behind this safe door?" Morgana takes a look at the safe as she awaits the response. "Q, care to take a look?"
Anthix nods as he follows the group on up, being as careful as possible to possibly make as little no no noise as possible. "safe would be the perfect place for this emerald, I wouldn't be surprised if it was protected by not only a lock but possibly a spell as well.... At least knowing who owns the safe I wouldn't be surprised" he chuckles and smiles a bit.

Not quite paying attention as he makes his way up the steps and stumbles slightly over the last step, cursing under his breath.

“Alas... into the lions den we go.” Vivi bows to the others, her leg stretched far behind her as she gestures up the stairs. “After you, the star always enters the stage last.”
Stealth 25
Vivi slowly ascends the steps, keeping her footsteps light as she remembers her dance lessons. As she enters the parlour she peeks around, impressed at all the art on the walls. History 17 to see if she recognises any of the works.
Moving up the stairs into the gallery of curiosities Viv as well as Antix is less than light on their feet than the rest of the party. Trying to more quietly Viv stumbles into Anthix causing him to lose his footing but the rogue catches himself before stumbling into anyone else but once again his sword clangs on the steps sending a dull echo through the quiet door. Coming into the room however it is seemingly unoccupied with Grace froze near the top of the steps peering down towards the party emerging around her with a critical look.
"Hush," Grace hisses at Anthix and Viv before turning to face the room again. "Here's the tricky bit," she says gesturing at the dimly lit room as floating orbs of pale green light orbit the room the ceiling is made of glass showing the night sky above but it's overcast and has begun raining again.
If the library had places to hide the emerald the gallery is the exact opposite. All of the Virago's treasures sit on pillars or in display cases in clear view of any occupant in the room but the pride of place seems to direct the viewer to the preserved head of a green dragon, the cleverest amongst their kind, mounted on the wall. It's enormous and looks very, very old. Each pillar is spread evenly across the place and seems welcoming to the viewer to look at each object. There are several suits of terrifyingly grotesque looking armor, a statue you're pretty sure is of a petrified person, and countless trinks of all shapes as well as sizes spread throughout the pillars and a couple of shelves that line the outer walls of the gallery breaking here and there for the random picture painted to depict a variety of scenes. On the wall apposing the green dragon's head is a full-body portrait of the Virago herself in resplendent robes of purple and gold in a desert setting. It looks like the rumored ruins of Ellyria, the fallen city of mages, where many have lost their lives as well as made their fortunes.
"She's particular about where things are in this room so be careful. Also, I should mention things are not always what they seem," Grace adds pausing to look at the party. "I think I should be on my way," she adds looking around the room with a shudder.
OOC: Can't post the map yet. Please bear with me.

Vivi shakes her head at Anthix, gesturing at his feet as if to chide him.
“Many thanks for your assistance Grace.” Vivi smiles before turning to the others, her cloak shifting to the same purple and gold that Virago dons in the portrait. ”How’s that safe cracking going? It would be a bold move to head further in to the house, I hope we find what what we are looking for in there.” Shifting her eyes over to Anthix she shakes her finger, “Don’t...... touch anything. I’m certain we don’t want to go the way of poor Astryd over a wandering hand, and we’ve seen first hand your lack of motor skills on the stairs there.”
Quendar sidesteps any chance of getting caught up in Anthix's and Viv's tangled feet and begins looking around the gallery.
"Not what they seem?" Quendar says to himself at Grace's comments. "Hmm. Do you mean they may have power beyond their collectible value? Or that our host this evening disguises what is actually on display so that where an emerald might be there is actually a deceased dragon?"
Quendar, hands behind his back begins looking closely at each exhibit, looking for differences in the way shadows should fall from what's displayed, or any other oddity that might reveal an illusion hiding the emerald.

"If you are going to leave us," Quendar says to Grace, "would you be a dear and provide Bartram a glimpse of the next room, the hallway I believe, so we may get advanced warning of any inconvenient guards nearby."

"Viv my dear, I think the issue is.... You stumbled into me, I was perfectly fine till then and mind you I know not to touch anything.... Trust me about that...." Anthix groans a bit and cocks a smile at her before looking around the room, being careful to step around and look about to try and see if there is a safe or hidden area possibly.
OOC: I will post the map ASAP tonight. I'm on the road but will be able updated tonight.

OOC: the parlor/gallery is 55ft long and 25ft wide. There's a visible safe flanked by two suits ornate armor. There's the eerie portrait of the Virago looking out over the room to the left and across near the safe are shelves with curiosities. There's pillars displaying objects, every 5ft right down the center of the room going left to right, and the floor is tiled.
"Do you have any other questions? I really should get going," Grace whispers.

Vivi chuckles, “As much as I enjoy your company, a goodbye is far less meaningful if you don’t leave after. Farewell Grace.”
“Quendar, Anthix. Sometimes the answer is in the most obvious place. Why don’t you check if that safe there is trapped? I’ll keep a lookout” Once Grace has left she will keep her ear to the door out of the room, listening for footsteps. Perception 19
"guess so... But what's the fun in somthing so.... Obviously placed before you?" Anthix smiles and heads over to the safe checking it over for traps as well as trying to possibly crack it.

Slowly and tediously works at the safe to try and get it cracked as quietly as possible.
Morgana takes a look at the safe as Anthix works, biting her lower lip as she looks around. "I don't know where Virago gets her aesthetic tastes, but these sets of armor seem the perfect source of some devious trap to take out someone who fails to unlock the safe correctly. Be careful."
She examines the armor, and the safe, not touching anything.
" Good luck," Grace says before she opens the door from the parlor and gallery then slips out.
Viv listens but is sure it's only Grace's fading footsteps she hears before it's silent beyond the parlor and gallery but for the movement of the party.
Quendar focuses on the bird's senses again but the animal is far too overwhelmed by the shiny bobbles and trinkets to discovery anything as Grace moves into the hallway then turns towards the stairs.
"Go, go on now." Grace pokes at the bird making sure it's off before walking upstairs to her rooms in the attic.
OOC: Need a roll for traps and the lock Anthix. It's not a blanket check.

OOC: I'd do a surprise round but Morgana's post makes it kind of pointless. Everyone roll initiative!!!
