OOC: There's always diplomacy, deception, and negotiations as opposed to fighting FYI. It's entirely up to y'all but if we were at a table I'd allow a discussion about how to proceed. Have it in the PM however.
If anyone is unhappy with their PCs place just let me know, this is the best I could figure from posts.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I had thought we were all in the exit room, so Morgana would have been pressed up against that wall (ii14 ish). Morgana might not have been so far back in that case. Also, are we really in initiative at the moment or not? Kind of nebulous with the guards so far away. If I need to break this down into a few posts on initiative, let me know.
"Alright, you find some way to deal with or distract whomever is coming... perhaps I can wedge the crowbar through, though it might not be so quiet."
She goes for the rope, climbing swiftly. She assesses the situation at the grate, and quickly formulates her plan:
Stealth 18 - both to make her moves quietly, and for her team to not see what she's about to do
Perception 12 - is there a lock that Anthix did not see?
Thieves' Tools 18 - if there is a lock, unlock it
Realizing if they get caught or murder a guard it won't matter regardless, she makes her move. She hopes her compatriots are too distracted by the guards to bother looking up.
Any PCs in Line of Sight with a Passive Perception > Above Stealth, unless you'd have a reason to look up
Morgana stands neatly across the vertical surface leading up to the grate, as if the wall were like a floor, both hands free.
She wedges the crowbar into the grate and attempts to force it open, at least enough that she could then slip a shoulder underneath and continue pushing.
While Morgana works above them, Quendar leans over to Visage.
"Do we risk engaging with whomever is coming? I imagine you have your charms you could utilize," Quendar says. "Then we could send them to follow a few lights, or sparks."
He looks back at the red hand of the Reaper symbol and the runes on the door.
"The door has been alarmed. If we try to go in, an alarm will be sent to the mage who cast the spell. As an alternative, if the grate above is opened, we can race up, and the last person up could set off the alarm. The Reapers would likely then send someone to investigate and whoever is coming would have to deal with them. They might forget why they were down here in the first place in all the commotion."

Vivi puts her bow away as her robe knits itself back together, official symbols slowly appearing on it as it’s material a thicker and more elegant. As she drifts over to Quendar she whispers “Follow my lead, I hope you are as good at improv as you are at bickering.”
Putting her flute to her lips, Vivi blows, and though no sound comes out, colour flies out of its end, creating an illusory sign facing toward the tunnel the footsteps are coming from. It reads -
“Official Investigation in Progress. Do not enter. Any plumbing works must be rescheduled. Apologies for the inconvenience.”
(Action - Minor Illusion sign on R15)
(Bonus Action - change cloak to look like an official)
OOC: where's the sign going up. Use the alpha/numeric grid, please. Is Vic moving towards the guards or away. Q is at gg12.

OOC: Minor illusion has a distance of 30ft. Viv would have to move up 10ft to cast it then would have 20ft to move towards the grate/exit.
Like magic, Morgana walks up the weeping sewer wall and dislodges the grate using her crowbar again gaining the leverage she needed over the stubborn iron! It grinds slightly as she moves it aside on the street above.
“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
"I can sound imperious if that's what you're looking for," Quendar replies to Vivi. "My family raised ordering others around to a high art form."
Quendar then adjusts his cloak to reveal a little more of his expensive clothing and practices a couple of haughty expressions before settling on bored noble. He then quickly waves his hand over the hems of his pants and his boots. As his hands pass over, the dirt and grime of the sewer disappear, leaving the clothing spotless.
He then waits for the guards to arrive, hoping to see shadows and the flicker of torches before they appear.
OOC: Morgana needs to wait her turn to ascend unless she usings a BA. She's opened the grate as her action or are you saying she's BAing a dash up? I mean I'll allow it. * We're still in initiative order.*
Astrid uses the rope ladder and ascends without issue making it into the street above with Morgana. Perception check, please ladies. Also, stealth if you'd like to be hidden.
Grace and Tyril are next up the rope ladder. Tyril jumps up first allowing Grace to scrabble up behind him then passed him before they both ascend into the street behind Astrid.

Anthix continues to hold the position, a bit hidden behind the wall edge, glancing down the sewer before looking up to see the progress being made on the cover.

Vivi stifles a chuckle, raising an eyebrow“I would never have been able to tell, let’s see what you’ve got then. Pretend you are disarming this lock, I’ll greet our pursuers.” She winks as she heads toward the tunnel, granting Quendar 1d6 bardic inspiration.
Standing at the mouth of the tunnel (S13) she cleans off the dirt from her shoes with prestidigitation before taking on a deep, wizened and authoritive voice Performance 18”Who goes there? For your own safety and the safety of the citizens of Zozobra please do not proceed. A sensitive operation is being carried out by the arcane division of the city watch, and we can assure you everything is under control.”

"The grate was left open topside! We saw no sign," a echo voice reaches Viv and Quendar. "Better mark it topside eh," the voice says before the sound of retreating footsteps echo around the sewer passage and the flicker of approaching torch light fades.
Combat ended. Post at will.

Quendar turns from the lock and looks from the direction of the retreating footsteps of the guards and then over to Vivi.
"That was anti-climactic enough to be a touch disappointing," Quendar says to Vivi. "But confusing your opponent enough to avoid the fight in the first place, well, that's worth more than a dozen thugs at our back."
That's as close as Quendar manages to get to complimenting Vivi and saying she did well but he nods at her and then with a reluctant last look at the Reapers alarmed doorway he turns to head to join the others.
"I would dearly like to know what's in there. Perhaps when this task is complete and our compensation is safely in hand we can return for a more thorough examination."
Quendar then trots along to the rope ladder and climbs up to join the others.
