"…Fine. Doesn't matter. It only means attacking from both sides becomes attacking from three sides." Lucy shrugs as she watches the elf barbarian disappearing into the woods. "Okay,Guys. Let's go. Artemis, don't look for squirrels! Warn me before I get javelins or crossbows in my face. That's awfully bad for my beauty!"
OOC: Yes DM. It's fine with me too. Should we make perception check now?

Garavant draws his dagger, leaving his rapier at his hip for now. He moves toward the spire, taking care not to make noise and to use what vegetation he can for cover. His eyes scan ahead.
@Everyone: You head off in your groups, scanning the wilderness around in the afternoon light, whilst trying to watch your step at the same time (where appropriate). You see no sign of danger as you advance parallel to the track.
@Lucy:
Artemis can see that there are no patrols or camps beside the path or within at least 300ft either side. He indicates that the path meets the Stone Tooth and then ascends the side of it in a switchback style. At the top of the path, where it appears to disappear into the mountain, there are two orc sentries. They are currently looking away from the path, lost in conversation and seem bored.
Artemis also warns you that Laerthelas is moving subtly enough to reach the sentries unnoticed, but the rest of the party are doubtless going to alert them with their noise before he gets close enough to surprise them.
By Artemis’s judgement, the path crests around 100ft from, and behind, the orc sentries.
Lusy clicks her tongue, after she received the report from Artemis. No matter how much she hates her lazy, fat, glutton familiar, she has to admit that Artemis is very useful and competent when she is serious. Lusy signals Ingrida to slow down and whispers to her. "Good news. No patrols or camps beside the path at least 300ft around. Two hog heads at the top of the pass, too idiot to do their job and are looking away. The barbarian can make a surprise attack soon. Bad news. We made too much noise. It will alert the orcs before he ambushes them. Let's wait until he makes a move and join the fight."
Around the same time, Artemis the white owl flies to the (supposed to be) silent team. Perching on the shoulder of Garavant, the owl uses her wing like a human arm to gesture the adventurers wait and indicate the orc sentries ahead.
Ingrida nods and slows down to match Lucy's pace. She had been doing a bit more of a shake as she walked in order rustle her chainmail, it had caused a bit of a sore spot on her hips though, she'd have to spend some extra time massaging that out later, that is if they didn't fall to the Orcs ahead...and they wouldn't with Moradin's blessing!

Garavant's boot crunches down upon a twig, and just as it snaps, he sees the owl approaching. When the bird starts behaving strangely, he's not sure what to do, but he stops and regards the wise bird's eyes. He looks to Bree and shrugs slightly as he tries to gather what the owl is up to.
"Hey Artemis, what are you doing here? Garavant, I think something is up. The owl should be in the air. Maybe it saw something...." Bree suddenly realizes she hasn't cast Mage Armor today, so she does.
"What is it doing with it's wing... It kinda look like a stop sign or something" (or do I need to roll something, I was thinking a passive insight of 13 should be enough)
With the crashing noise behind you subsiding as your colleagues halt their advance, you are free to move up stealthily. You creep up the path as it becomes a switchback, hugging the mountainside. At the top the path levels out and stretches about 100-120ft ahead of you. At that point the path does one last switchback into the mountain, and at that point two orcs stand at the edge facing away from you. They seem inattentive and lazy.
@Lucy (via Artemis)
The barbarian is able to advance up the path now without the danger of being revealed by the other team members, and does so. The rest of the party are at the bottom of the ascent, maybe 300ft of pathway behind Laerthelas but 100ft vertically below him.
@Garavant, Bree and Ingrida:
You reach the bottom of the mountainside where the path starts to hug the side of the Stone Tooth and wait, quietly, for updates from the others. You are free to talk or act as you wish.

OOC: This approach works for me.
"Neither. I will go by myself off to the other side of the road, in advance. It will be easier for me to see any ambushes."
At that, Laerthalas immediately heads off into the woods to the left of the path. It isn't long before any sight of him disappears.

OOC: Fine with me. Here's a stealth check 7

EDIT: Double 2s! Save us oh wise owl!
@Laerthelas: Can you reroll please? Seems to have been an error in the app
I fixed it. Looks like there has to be a colon after the word before the formula.

(Between both scores you determine that Artemis is warning you of danger ahead)
Garavant nods at Bree's words. "He definitely is trying to tell us something. I think we should hold up."
With that, he pats the owl on the head and quietly says. "We'll wait here for now."
