The snow is most places is several inches deep, but there are trails, mostly from the front gate to the main doors, that have been pressed down from traffic. There are foot prints that go from that main path to the various towers.
Maudath you head inside into the great hall you first came into. The room is currently empty. You have stairs that lead up to the second level straight ahead. The door to your left you know leads to the speakers office where you spoke with Kadroth. There are also 2 doors to your right the you haven't been in. You do recall seeing the girl go in and out of the the door on the northern side of the room.
Maudath makes sure the others are inside before he heads for the door on the northeast side of the room that he seen the serving girl enter before. He makes no attempt at being quiet or stealthy. This is all the behaviour of someone who's supposed to be going where he's going.
You burst thru the door and are met by a small screech and the sound of serving plates hitting the floor. Seems your sudden appearance startled the girl and caused her to drop a platter of food.
"No...no...no...." She scrambles to try and pick up what she can. Another voice comes from across the room "Mere, what in tarnations..." The human male stops short when he sees the group of you standing there. He rushes over and helps the girl pick up what she can and says softly to her "Get this to Kadroth, and just apologize and let him know I'm making more now scoot" She picks up the tray and moves to go past you all as quick as she can.
The other man, he seems to be late 30's early 40's dressed in a dirty chefs apron, says to you all. "Y'all hungry. Can I get you some trout?"
He chuckles a bit. "Nah, Ive been working here for bout 7 years now. I'm on my 2nd townspeaker. Cant no one make trout like I can!" As he moves towards the back of the room its now you hear bleating and can see that there are 2 goats tethered by a small door that probably leads out into the courtyard. "Far as I know he's sick in his bed. I try to stay here in my kitchen." He points over to a small cot. "I just want to do my job, ya know" You watch as he pulls out a few trout from a storage locker and begins to prepare them with a skill you've seldom seen.
"If you'd like I can have the trout brought to your tower or you can have a seat in the hall.
Maudath reluctantly steps several paces away from the stove and the inviting smells of food to get closer to the others.
”I can make a lot of noise down here in the hall if you want to go have a quiet look upstairs.” Maudath whispers to the Professor. “Wrestle a few guards or pick a fight with Eve or something.”
Eve picks up on Maudath’s fight comment, and says, “Hey! Who’s picking a fight, you great loaf?!…”. She winks like she’s playing along, oblivious to the fact that she’s jumped the gun a little early on that scam.
Maudath moves over to the tables in the hall and sits down in case the chef does bring them some food.
"Why not let the little fella stretch his wings and if there are doors he can't get through we'll go to Plan B," Maudath says, trying to ignore he groaning creak the chair is giving under his weight.
Assuming the chef tells them roughly which way to head, Eve sends invisible, flying, devil Ipkiss off in the direction of the town master, and stays in constant mental contact with him, getting a running thought-commentary from him as he goes. She’s also ready to dismiss him from this plane should it get too hairy.
The Professor will sit with Eve, patting her hand until she comes back to them. "Feel free to tell us what he sees, I'll listen, and if I squeeze your hand once, it'll be that someone is in hearing, so you will want to be silent. If I squeeze twice, we need you back here."

Eve agrees and sits down holding The Professor’s hand and uses Ipkiss’s senses. She sends him to flutter invisibly up the stairs and to listen at each of the doors he finds there…
Ipkiss heads up to the upper landing. On the left side is the door that you were all lead thru when you first arrived where you met the soothsayer Hethyl. It lead to a hallway and you recall there was another door you didnt go thru in there. On the right side there is a doorway located at the end of the walk.

(Post #1462 above - Maudath has gone inside in search of the servant girl and if she's not around he's going in search of the kitchen)

Eve is on board. She follows directly, around 10ft or so, behind Maudath.

Maudath's stomach rumbles at the mention of trout.
"That wouldn't be turned away," Maudath says.
He watches Mere leave before turning back to the chef.
"We've a couple of questions too," he adds. "You didn't yell at Mere just then. You didn't come with Kadroth's group, did you?"
Maudath looks at the doors to make sure they're closed.
"Right creepy group, ain't they? So, where are they keeping the town speaker?"
He chuckles a bit. "Nah, Ive been working here for bout 7 years now. I'm on my 2nd townspeaker. Cant no one make trout like I can!" "Fair enough," Maudath says. "We won't cause you any trouble. Now though, the townspeaker, his bedroom upstairs or in one of the towers?"
Maudath hovers just out of the way as he watches the chef work, his stomach rumbling a few more times.
"Its upstairs, I haven't been up there since before they showed up...."
Maudath reluctantly steps several paces away from the stove and the inviting smells of food to get closer to the others.

“What? You know the way?”, Eve asks the chef.
”Yes Ipkiss can explore unseen if we know the way, and if there aren’t too many heavy doors!”. Eve says semi privately to the Professor.
