"Levistus is the archdevil they are sworn to... there's some heavy stuff going on here. Kadroth has given us nothing but false charm, but refused to let us see you. You suffer no ailments then? Word around town is that you are sick, and that he and his are the ones who are saving your life. I am pleased to see you are well, otherwise."
((Do you think the Professor would have met the Town Speaker before?))
(You may have seen him in passing but I can't think of a reason for you to have met him)
"Yeah Im well, they just have been passing that around to keep the people from looking too much. "
"That's a relief! I have some healing at my disposal, but it's mostly experimental unguents and intravenous injections... our holy healer is around here somewhere... but glad it doesn't fall to me to cure you of something beyond my experience!"

"Are there any in the town who would support you, if we could get word to them? Ones who would take up arms?"
"Good question... Eve dear, will you be able to keep this guard silent if you need to make the speaker invisible? Perhaps Maudath or Ryhunis can make sure his unconsciousness is more prolonged, if not?"
((I don't know if it was explicitly stated, but I'm assuming we waved Ryhunis up to join us, rather than leaving her down below!))

Eve responds to the Professor, “You are right… I will only be able to concentrate on one spell at a time… But if the town speaker does not want to escape the keep, there is less need for him to be invisible! He can just lay low or come along with us?…”.
”If I need to concentrate on a different spell, or make the town speaker invisible, it’s not necessarily my spell that’s keeping this one asleep. If nothing wakes him, I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t just stay asleep all by himself even without my help!”.
”I don’t necessarily want to test that! But I wouldn’t worry too much if I had to withdraw my control over him… But for now, he can stay as he is and I’ll keep control as long as I can…”.
Eve nods and seems reasonably comfortable of her understanding of these magics.
((But do let Grwobert know if I’ve wildly misunderstood the suggestion spell or the concentration mechanic)).

"The town militia would take up arms but I don't think they could take the keep" the speaker replies to the Professor "I'm sure I could use them to reinforce the keep once the cultists are dealt with."
Maudath looks up when the speaker mentions the town militia.
"We could try getting word to the militia so that once we deal with Kadroth they could be at the gates waiting to chase the rest of the cultists off," Maudath suggests.
"Eve, our little friend has the best chance of rousing the militia... do you think he'd be up for delivering a letter penned by the good Speaker here?"
"Speaker... how do you want the cultists dealt with? I think we're clear on Kadroth, but does it fall to you to pronounce judgement on them? We don't wish to circumvent laws... at least not without your consent."

Maudath looks over at the Professor and smiles sheepishly. Being worried about not breaking the law hadn't entered his head even once in this discussion.
He stands up, flexes his shoulders and does a couple of deep knee bends to get the blood flowing again. He then starts looking around the room for extra sheets or anything that could be used as rope to tie the sleeping cultist up.
"They slew my guards, all good citizens of Caer Dineval, as far as Im concerned you can do what ever needs to be done" you can see he is getting even more fired up with the idea of getting his keep back. "
((Thanks, that’s sounds okay to me, about how suggestion works)).
“Can you fight? Town speaker? Wield a bow?… Cast magics?…”, asks Eve.
And to the Professor and Maudath, “I am confident of my magic… We have a good few hours, and even then, this one will just think he let the right person take the Town Speaker in the normal way. He’ll think it was perfectly reasonable. Nothing untoward”.
”However if he wakes up bound, he will immediately smell a rat…. I say leave him be. He’s the least of our worries until morning. I’m sure we’ll be done by then, and we can always come back and finish him off before then if it comes to that… they may all surrender when this leader is taken out…”.
”hmmm… I suspect we may need to take their necklaces though, to break this link to their demon master!…”.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good enough for me," Maudath says. "Here, Professor. Give me a hand."
Assuming he hasn't found rope lying around, and not wanting to use his own, he moves the bedsheets and starts using those as rope to tie down the cultist Eve commanded to sleep. He cinches them as tight as he can. He tears off other strips to use as a gag too.
"As ugly as these guys seem to be, can't just kill one in his sleep but we can't leave him free to warn the others either."
Survival (if needed for binding and gagging the cultist securely) / w Advantage from the Professor's help?: 11
"So now what? The only plan I've got is to use Ryhuni's rock head to knock in Kadroth's door and stick a sword through him before he knows what's going on."
((Cross posted - I'm seeing it as Maudath happily listening to Eve and nodding along, all the while he continues to tie up the cultist.))
"Think it's still best not to get a sword in the back from this one," Maudath says. "If he wakes up and comes out into the hallway and sees us, he's one more we have to deal with whether he knew something was up or not."
He then goes over to the head of the cultist and starts looking for the black stone necklace. If he finds it, he'll slip it off his neck, careful not to let the stone itself touch his skin. If he does find it, he holds it by the chain offering it to Eve or the Professor.
"In any event, I think the sooner we do this the better. Right now know one is watching us or distrusting us. Should take advantage of this freedom to waltz in on Kadroth right now."
