Eve stretches at all the sudden commotion, and gets up. She gives the body of Ryhunis a gentle pat, and then wonders over to Maudath and looks out at the storm with him...
"I can´t do this, i can´t follow this daam path for good. I failed him just like i will fail this daam thing" can be heard from inside the golem "I am not broken, not the golem at least, Professor, if you can´t get my spirit out of this thing, find a way to let me die permanently because i am a bit afraid of returning to how i was. Not even a day has passed since i meet these people already made one cry another angry, one looked like she hates me from the start, i don´t blame them. I just know that sooner or later she will return Cyhunis will return" she whispered the golem powered up a bit more still not moving"I am here, for now"
Iris listens to the conversation and storytelling, but after Eve speaks, her gaze becomes distant and she seems to get a bit lost in her own world. Almost absentmindedly, she pulls the silver amulet from around her neck, then another necklace - a bronze medallion on a simple black cord. She clutches both like a lifeline.
When Eve stands up she jolts back into reality, shuffling over to join her at the doorway. She sets the necklaces in her lap momentarily to dig around in her bag, then a few seconds later produces a rather squished pastry. Breaking it in half, she holds out one of the chunks to Eve, a silent peace offering.
Eve stifles a jump at the sudden proximity of Iris. She looks at the offering and then back up to smile up at the other tiefling. She’s glad she’s covered head to toe in thick furs, but still takes the offered food rather gingerly with a gloved hand. “Thank you…”.
She raises the food to her mouth but watches Iris first, to see her bite hers, before tucking in to her half too.
She makes small-talk as they eat. Looking up at the swirling wind and snow, she says, “You think we’ll be stuck here long?”. Then she thinks of something urgent… She rummages in her pack and holds out a little metal thing, “Please take this!”, she tells Iris urgently, and then cryptically, “If you need me… blow on this”. She presses a signal whistle into Iris’s hands and they hold a look between them for a few seconds, before Eve breaks off…
She turns to the professor, leaving Iris and Maudath in the doorway “Professor, if we’re going to be here a while, is it worth trying the ’Grumplings-lantern’? To see if there are any of those little things near by??!”.
Iris scoops up the necklaces in one hand as she starts to eat her half of the pastry."I hope not,"she replies to Eve's question, staring out into the swirling snow. "If we are, we can make Maudath go out and look for firewood."She glances over to the goliath with a grin.
As the small-dies down and Eve suddenly presses the whistle into her hands, she only responds with a solemn nod, and feels obligated to hold the other tiefling's gaze until she breaks away. Once she's left, Iris flips open her component pouch, spins it to an empty compartment, and tucks the whistle safely inside.
Maudath gives Ryhunis a wide-berth and keeps one eye on her at all times, not quite sure what to expect from her at any given moment. Then, as the professor sets up the lantern, Maudath turns his gaze to the outside again, half expecting to see a fairy creature appear amidst the snow.
"Hopefully it lets up soon," he says to Iris and Eve. "If this snow buries the iron and the sled we may never find it."
The golem powered to normal levels "I am back, finally" she raised her hand to her head"daam emotional burst, sorry for what happened" "Last time it happened was 5 years ago, and the one before was around 20, and the one before around 70, wich means the intervalls are getting shorter, great if i continue like this, i will end up as a bloob of emotions and tears, great" "I am fine thank you professor, i just need some time to think, but i returned to my charismatic self so don´t worry about me"
As the lantern light flares up you watch expectingly for a moment as the flame remains its usual red orange color.
Maudath looking outside you notice that the snow seems to be letting up and with that a bit more light is creeping into the area. You gather the storm will be past in the next half hour or so.
Shortly after Maudath looked out the snow has finally died down to a moderate fall rate and the wind has come back to normal levels. Its been approx 2 hours since you took cover and its roughly 11 am. Twilight has fully come to the skies.

Maudath looks up at the sky and back in at the others.
"Let's get going before we lose any more time," Maudath says to the others. "Everyone ready?"
He speaks to the group but focuses on Eve when asks if everyone is ready.
Maudath picks up his pack and adjusts his swords, rolling his shoulders as he straightens up. He quickly puts his snowshoes back on, nods to the others and heads outside and starts towards the Cairn again.
"The snow will make the trail harder to follow, but if we all keep an eye out, we should be able to keep from getting lost."

(OOC Apparently Maudath has started heading in the opposite direction - someone else may want to jump in and reorient the group)
((Maudath would be more or less used to Eve by now. He would know that she feels her feelings super hard. When she’s happy, she’s HAPPY, when she’s angry she’s ANGRY, etc. To the extent that a new feeling can quickly override anything else. Right now she’s moved on to ‘eager and ready to get going’. It may not be super healthy all the time, but it’s a survival trait she’s evolved out of necessity, based on what’s proven to work most of the time, for her)).
Eve seems to have buried her sadness and fear, almost like she’s simply bottled it for later, and she looks totally eager and ready to get going. She shows Maudath a keen and determined face, nods, and confirms “Ready!”, still bouncing and shaking the blood back into her limbs.
Once out on the trail again, following Maudath, she calls back to Iris, who was leading them before, “Uhh.. Iris?!!… I can’t even see our old tracks, or where we’ve come from!?…. Can you get a bead on which way we’re heading?!…”.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Iris ducks out of the small wooden structure, slipping her necklaces back on, and tries to get her bearings for where they are. Eve's right - the snow has completely covered their tracks - but even she can tell that Maudath is heading in the complete wrong direction. Hurrying to catch up with them, she taps the goliath on the shoulder. "Keep going that way and you'll be back in Bryn Shander before you know it,"she says with a small chuckle.
Survival: 11
She scans the area for a moment longer, brow furrowed with concentration, before pointing in a direction that she's only semi-confident in. "It's hard to tell with all the new snow, but I think it's that way."
"Hmpf," Maudath says with a furrow of his brow then a shrug. Then he grins, patting Eve on the shoulder before turning and following Iris. He starts taking as big a step as he can to make it more challenging for Iris to jump from footprint to footprint.
The group begins traveling again, there is a good 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground. As the last remnants of the storm pass the bit of light from midday reflects off the fresh snow to give the impression of early morning or late evening.
You all travel on for for about another hour or so before you crest a snow-covered ridge and see a frozen, dismembered corpse in the gully in front of you. Snow covers some of the gory bits, but the headless torso and severed limbs are visible. You see tracks in the snow all around the corpse, and the telltale grooves in the snow left behind by a sled that has been hauled away.
Its easy to tell this is the body of a dwarf, most likely Oobok. His arms are missing as well as most of his torso and you can see obvious signs of teeth all over him.

The Professor is in the middle of admonishing Ryhunis... "Don't you give up on you, I'm not giving up on you!"
"Ah, oh, yes! Capital idea, Eve m'dear!"
He'll set up the lantern and click it alight with his flinger set to the proper setting.
