skarias looked at the dwarf as he goes in "well, then let's go, no time to waste." he enters the tunnel through the door, readying his crossbow, following Tydir "i hope everyone has a light, it's pretty dark in here"
So'ui squints at the darkness, blinking until his darkvision adjusts. "Never seen these before," acknowledging the runes. He closes his eyes, muttering in a foreign language. Suddenly, a dragonish figure shimmers into existence. The teal drake curls around his legs, like a cat would do to its owner. "Ammus, these are my companions," So'ui says, gently patting the creature's head. "Better safe than sorry."

As the others enter the tunnel, Alaster lets his eyes adjust to the darkness as he follows behind the others. He then runs his fingers over his tool belt, stopping on a pair of oddly shaped goggles. Pulling them off of his belt, he pulls out a pair of pliers from his belt as well and begins to pull out some scraps of plastic that are inside the goggles before starting to twist the wires inside the device and connect them. He will spend the next 10 minutes a bit preoccupied as he finishes putting the contraption together. Once he is done, he places the goggles over his eyes and begins to see faint magical auras around anything magical.

Gerald casts aid on himself, Skarias, and Alaster. after this, he strides into the room. he looks around the room, looking for any signs of danger. "look out, there could be danger." he says in the same high pitched, annoyingly superior voice. he fiddles with a small clockwork device while looking around.
The door opens up to a short hallway lined with heads on spikes. Some of the heads look rather fresher than others, a good sign that those missing farmers might not have fared so well.
The short hall opens up then into a large room, the walls covered with tapestries showing acts of murder and torture in gory detail.
Let's have you all roll initiative here. Also how do you enter this chamber? What is the marching order?
Alaster would enter towards the middle, he wouldn't want to be the first one in the room, but he wouldn't want to be too far from the front so he wouldn't be left out of the looting.
Initiative: 5

Tydir plunged in to the darkenss, his dwarven eye adjusting quickly to the gloom. He'd stay at the front as they moved down the hallway, keeping his shield up and his hammer ready. As they approach the threshold, he mumbles under his breath 'Dumathoin, grant me your wisdom' Guidance
(OOC: Ok, I rolled initiative for those who have not done so yet, as well as for the broken roll above. I've also placed people where I thought they should be, if they had not responded yet.
One item that I need to explain, as this combat starts, is how I work surprise. The rules are vague. The way I run it is that, a stealthy person must beat every member of the other group's passive perception to gain surprise on the group. I am sure we can have a discussion on this, and if you wish to do so then put it in the OOC PM. I know there are other ways to do it.)
As you enter this chamber some motion is noticed behind the tapestries, at various points around the chamber, but then those tapestries are falling, and ten massive brutes jump out to attack. These brutes stand well over seven foot tall, weigh in over 350 pounds each, and wield morningstars in their hands.
Ok, pausing here, as I might have to redirect some of the above, in case Tydir goes down. Remember you can not use reactions during this surprise, so not much you can do at this point to keep from taking damage on a hit.
Never mind the worry about the dwarf going down, those were horrible to-hits, dice was on your side this time it seems... lol. One moment and I'll get the normal round started...
Stepping into the ambush, Tydir finds himself beset on all sides. The attackers find that the wiry dwarf is a hard target to bring down, but one of them manages to catch the cleric with a solid hit to the head.
I count one hit for 19 damage? That's more than enough - just wanna make sure I'm not missing an attack. Fixed my Initiative roll, but happy to take my turn where ever it comes up - if I make it that long.....

I set initiative when I start the encounter, so I have you positioned. I also trust you guys to keep track of your ac and HP, so I will not be updating them and will trust you to know when you get hit.
