Yashin gets up at Brock’s pushes and shoves, although it takes the Dwarf some time to wake him. He stretches as Brock steals the bed from underneath him. He looks at the other bed and grumbles, but begins the tedious work of putting on his plate armor. He stomps out in the hall and begins his watch, waking Ssej when it is complete. Perception 19.
As dusk settles over the city, Grishkar enjoys a modest meal in a side alley of the inn. Once the the day's light is nothing more than a sliver and long shadows overtake the streets, the necromancer sets about his business. A new form of city replaces the normal facade when night falls. Late night revelers, careless drunkards, and enterprising peddlers of every commodity imaginable. Among these night-crawling souls, Grishkar finds a measure of comfort. These are not ones to turn away from his scarred visage.
After a few passes around the block, Grishkar plants himself near the inn. There, he waits for an unassuming patron to stagger forth into the night or come trapsing along the street.

You do not have long to wait, though the first group to come out has two stumbling men and an equally drunk woman. If you wish to do something with those three we can back up to it. Waiting a bit longer another figure stumbles out, this one is alone. She has long, untidy, auburn hair, and wears studded leather armor, and carries a rapier at her hip. She is quite drunk though as she zigzags her way from the inn's door and down the street.

((Grishkar will follow the second figure and observe her demeanor. Is there anything about her that may indicate her profession? Any distinctive clothes or markings? Just in case, here's a pair of flat d20 rolls, mods to follow based on applicable skill (if any): 15/17))

Following the auburn-haired woman, you would notice the studded leather is black and that, even drunk, she moves fairly quietly, her footsteps making little sound. There is no overt sign of her trade, but you would guess she is a down-on-her-luck adventurer, probably a roguish-type. Can you give me a stealth check, if you are trying to follow her without her knowing? You can also use some other skill, if you can give a reason for it. Such as performance or deception to appear not to be following her.

((Deception Check to appear as a wandering vagabond aimlessly strolling the city streets? 20. If you want that as a Stealth check instead, just subtract 2.))
Grishkar swaggers along behind the lightly armed woman. Ahead of her, and perched on an upper story window sill, his raven sits overlooking her progress. As the necromancer tails this stranger, he mumbles a short phrase. The words carry on an arcane breeze and settle into the woman's mind. ((Message))
Black-robed man behind is dangerous....follow the bird to ambush him
GGrishkars raven gives a CAWW, pauses, then takes flight down a nearby alley.

Umeven attempts to follow (closely) via rooftops, and makes sure his bow is ready. He'll also pull a net from his bag, and secure it somewhere handy on his person.
The woman jerks suddenly, eyes going wide as she stares all around. She looks over her shoulder though, spotting Grishkar behind her. Hearing the bird call, she moves after it, though hesitantly. Soon though she picks up her pace, striding off into the alley.

Give me a new stealth roll as you move from rooftop to rooftop. Also an acrobatics check to see how jumping from roof to roof might affect that stealth.
((Grishkar has a great Passive Investigation and Insight of 19 each, but Perception is only 15. You should be good with most checks I think.))

Ssej turns over in his sleep as his tail curves up and he gently starts to chew on his tail, dreaming of eating certain Thayans flowing through his mind.
[OOC: I am love the suspense of what is going on and thoroughly enjoying myself, please continue. :) ]
The raven flutters down the alleyways, flapping from one object to another while his follower stays close behind. The raven moves as though to guide, but it always pauses a moment when the woman catches up before it flies off again.
Tap...Tap...Tap
Turns twist about, round and round themselves, until all sense of direction is lost. The shadowy figure keeps pace, the metal tip of his cane ringing over cobblestones and against brick walls.

The afternoon sun was giving way to dusk. Among the buildings, the sun fled even faster, casting the world into a false, premature twilight. Soon, darkness would cover this remote world while the sky still blazed with fading orange.
Tap...Tap...Tap
The raven finally came to rest above a door. Its pursuer came to a halt while the raven stared at her. Again, the mysterious voice spoke. You have done well. The next step lies before you.
As she reached for the large handle, her arm suddenly froze. Might be terror, might be a trick, but for a few heartbeats, she couldn't move!

Yashin stomps up and down the hallway outside of their rooms, keeping an uneasy watch on the inn through the night. He sits down heavily on a chair at one end of the hallway and pulls out the amulet he took from one of the abominations they faced earlier. Serpent-folk, followers of Bane, and now demons, what have they gotten themselves into?
A devout follower of the Storm Lord, he never asks for aid, and Talos would be unlikely to give it in any case as he values strength and obedience above all else. Still he needs more answers and before he knows it he finds himself in prayer.
"Raging one, I am surrounded with non-believers who limit me from causing destruction in your name. Hounded by enemies from all sides to slow our journey. We still know not what we seek or where it can be found exactly. Give me guidance so I can best serve your will.”
The woman freezes, her eyes going vacant. The hand she reached for the door slowly drops to her side and she stares off into space, looking dazzled and unaware of what is around her.
As the spell takes hold, and the woman stares in a bewildered trance, Grishkar strolls up behind her and hangs an arm over her shoulder. “You know, you’re very special. I see a lot of people, but not everyone catches my eye.” A long, curved dagger slides out from the necromancer’s sleeve, then he points to tip to his good eye, “This one, not the other one. That eye has seen all there is to see, sadly.”
Grishkar releases the woman and paces around in front of her. “Yo know, you’re not my first, but that doesn’t make this any less special.” Despite his self-satisfying bravado, Grishkar’s dramatics were lost on his transfixed audience, “Would you believe my first was with a strapping young man from my home town? It was all so terribly awkward; I had no idea what I was doing, and he had no idea….well, about anything that was happening. Overall it was just a messy experience, but I was determined to be better going forward.” Grishkar flicked his dagger at the stupefied woman to punctuate his resolve.
All of this banter had taken the precious little time his spell was able to hold. The woman groaned as her senses began to return. Griskhar let out a disappointed sigh. “Well, time to get this started.” He pressed the tip of his dagger to the woman’s ribs as he offered a prayer to his dark Master, "Dark Lord Bhaal, God of Murder, take this feeble life, reaped by your servant." Black smoke congealed around his blade and ran off heavy like water. As the blade sank through the leather armor, he continued his veneration, "Grant me sight for what lies ahead, so that I may run a river of souls to you."

Umeven would like to try to throw the net at Grishkar if he can, I think right about the time he says "take this feeble life" as it leaves little doubt what's going on.
