"No offense, I court death enough as it is without going to a bridge magically blessed by it, I agree with the others we should head straight to Baldur's gate,' says Brock.
"On to more immediate concerns, then. If we are to sleep afield, then why not be mildly comfortable? Shall I prepare a place of relative security and comfort?"
Kallandra smiles, "Now that sounds like a good idea," she says.
"Splendid." Grishkar hops from his wagon and takes a position kneeling in the clearing. With a few hand-waves over the ground, a mount of dirt looses itself from the ground and pulls itself closer to the Necromancer. Again, he chants the spell, and another patch of earth rips itself free next to the first. Several minutes go by in this way until Grishkar had created a ring around the wagon. Within, the group was comfortably surround by fresh earthworks almost 5' tall in and 20' across the basin. Just opposite the berms, the holes created a trench 5' down. Possible threats would need to clear a 5' gap, 5' tall, or risk climbing into the trench for a 10' climb.
Satisfied with his protective bulwark, Grishkar set his minions to six points around the basin to guard, then began a lengthy ritual at the center. Once complete, a translucent dome sprung into being, nearly filling the area.

Kallandra smiles at the silly non-elfs, but it's a good-natured smile of camaraderie. "I will take the second watch, and that will be the only other watch needed. As an elf, I need only rest for 4 hours a night to be fully rested."
Grushkar shrugs and makes himself comfortable within the arcane dome. His minions were set outside as guards, and his familiar took overwatch on top. His past gave no reason to fear mundane threats within his temporary sanctum. There was the time with an upstart Sorcerer looking to make a name, though. No sooner did he break the protective bubble, he was set upon by a dozen hands and now occupies a space across an acre of unnamed forest.

The night passes uneventfully, though I actually wish it had not, that would have been a fun encounter to run. As this will likely be a go-to for you guys to use, I would expect it will come up again. lol.
As you travel the direct route, through the Trollclaws, you find the road meanders a bit, going over, around, and sometimes skirting miles out of the direct path, to take into acount the many hills of the region. Even so you are making good time, traveling along at a good clip through the country.
Who is scouting for the group? Please anyone doing so, through familiars, or other means, let me know and please give me a perception check from any scouts.
((Well, feel free to break my fortifications whenever you feel like it ;) By all means, I live for rolling dice, even virtually. I don't want to break the game or sidestep possible action scenes.))

Ssej will occasionally dismount form his horse and toss the reins to someone on the wagon and then disappear into the forest on the sides of the road to see if anyone is following the group.
As the second day in the Trollclaws is heading towards evening, several of you spot movement in the hallows and darkening areas of the hills all around. When you look again though there is nothing there to see, maybe it was just a trick of the lighting. It is not until the black raven makes one of their many flyby scouting runs, that anything is truly spotted. The raven spots several large, green, creatures lumbring along the opposite side of a large hill, looking to be moving to intercept the road you are traveling down.
Please roll initiative and tell me how you react to this. The necromancer was using his raven's senses to spot these trolls, so the raven does not need to report back in on it, but this also means the trolls are less than 100 feet from your current location.
On hearing the report, Kallandra ponders for a moment and then opens one of her bags and murmurs a word. A small brazier with a tight cloth covering pops out of the magical bag. Deftly, she catches it, allowing the bag to close and with a swift movement she pulls off the covering and she slides to the ground. Setting the Brazier of Commanding Fire Elementals on the ground she sprinkles something atop it and the kindling held in place by the covering bursts alight.
Muttering the command under her breath, she commands her fiery ally to come forth.
"There," she says smugly, "that should do well for trolls."

Yashin spends the day cramped in the back of the wagon, making idle conversation with Grishkar, Brock and anyone else who may be nearby. After hearing the report of the Trolls, he grabs his warhammer and gear and makes ready for a fight. Jumping down from the wagon to walk beside it and give himself more room to move, he scans the hills, looking for any sign of the creatures.
“Ready your zombies, wizard. It looks like the day just got a bit more interesting.”
