Kane sees that Tylaerys looks upset, he pats her on the back reassuringly. “It’s okay. We knew you weren’t talking about personal drow. They are right, you can’t judge someone based on their race, but their society’s malice is very apparent. You have memory of the drow, and not good ones, so it’s understandable to have anger towards them. But don’t let your anger cloud your thoughts if we meet a good natured drow.” Kane is saying while she is still wrong for judging, he sees why she judges them and understands. “Our watch is coming up soon. Rest now. I’ll wake you up when it’s our turn. Good night.”

Almarath: Fast asleep under a pile of blankets, the old wizard is unperturbed by the halting of the sleigh nor the commotion all around him. Finally aroused by the smell of food, Almarath's stomach grumbles as he shoves the mass of animal furs to the side.
He takes a moment to straighten his hair and robes before placing a hand absently atop his head. Turning back, he digs through the pile of blankets until he eventually retrieves his hat. He approaches the cooking fire, oblivious to his surroundings and asks, "So, what's for dinner?"
Stomach satisfied, he wipes his chin and says, "I suppose it is time to get to work."
A bright light suddenly begins to emit from the tip of Almarath's staff as he surveys the area, looking for traces of magic or anything else of interest. He then retrieves his book of lore from his pack and begins to methodically copy the runes, rubbing over them with charcoal and paper to reveal the older runes beneath.
Almarath: As he finishes documenting and cataloging his findings from the site, Almarath says with a smile, "I volunteer for first watch. It will give me the opportunity to have a better look around. Or should I say, for Poly to have a look around."
He says to himself, "Hmm... what form would be best for you this time?"
A pure white snowy owl descends from the sky above and perches itself upon the wizard's shoulder. Almarath whispers a few commands, ordering Poly to survey the surrounding area for anything of interest and look for any openings into the larger complex, before then keeping watch on the camp throughout the night.
As quickly as he appeared, Poly ascends once more into the night sky..

Freya joins the group and answer's Tylaerys question with a large smile.
"I pray to Dauthau the dwarven god of magic and knowledge." a cough can be heard from Chess - and mischief you forget that part all the time - but her word flow like nothing happened, "I serve him and my family protecting the ancient realms and trying to gather forgotten lore."
She looks back at the runes and the dark entrance. " We are safe but do not try to enter the Underdark. It will swallow you."
The dwarves will make small talk for a while, ready to answer any questions, then go to sleep.
Almarath takes time to gather information and after casting detect magic sees that tendrils of a shadowy magic leak from the last door at the end of the rooms. The owl doesn't want to go that way and is happy to stay near the entrance ready to take to the air.
As everyone goes to bed, except for the one taking his or her turn at guard duty, dreams filter into your consciousness.
For those sleeping:
Dark tendrils gather around you but they keep their distance, blocked by the light coming from being you. Seems like two factions are warring and you are in the middle. An old man with a large staff is trying to study those tendrils but the truth eludes him. He turns to look you in the eyes. "Found the truth of it. Tell me where the shadows come from." Then you wake.
As Kane wakes her up for the midnight shift Tylaerys is at first confused. "What...where am I...Kane, oh Kane I had this dream. I have to remember it. I think it is important, maybe even sent by Mystra." She goes on to describe the dream. "We must find the source of the shadows Kane." Tylaerys then finds a position to watch the path into the mountain, her staff across her legs illuminating her wiew. (Light) "I´m sorry about earlier, but I am also glad to know that we have a firm foundation of open mindedness to build our trust in our little congragation." She says in a soft voice as to not disturb the others, and smiles at Kane. "So Kane, what do you make of this dream, indulge me." She leans back and watches the path while listening attentively to the words of the tiefling, occasionally glancing over to catch another glimpse of those sharp fangs.
"The.. the shadows? I'm no so sure, but I'm not leaving you alone by yourself." He gets in between Tylaerys' and the path, still allowing her to see but if something does come through, it will have to get through Kane first. *Kane has darkvision of 60 feet.* "This dream.. I didn't not see it because I was awake, but it does sound ominous. It sounds frightening. You sure you think Mystra sent it? I fear it is a trap, something to lure us towards our doom. The dwarves warned us to stay away. I believe they have good reason. And.. and I don't want to see you get hurt. I have no healing magic, so ni would be helpless." Kane face turn to sorrow, as if imaging a horrible event that he couldn't help. "Please, stay with me up here." All while he is talking, he doesn't try to hide his fangs. He forgot. They do indeed look sharp, but he doesn't seem to ever cut himself on them.
"Oh Kane," smiling warmly at the tiefling "thanks for your concern but I wasn´t planning on going down there, at least not by myself. I wasn´t even sure the dream pertained to what´s beyond those runes, but if you think it does I feel obligated to investigate. We should better wait until everyone is fully rested though."A brief pause as Tylaerys ponders her dream. "You may be right about Mystra not being involved with the dream, but who do you think is? The man in the dream, who could he be?"
"Hmm.. if any go our gods were involved, I think Oghma would be the most likely. He seeks knowledge and truth, he may be asking us to find what's in the shadows. But the tendrils..this defiantly sounds like Loth. As for the main in the dream, it could either be Oghma or...I don't know. He's really my only guess." Kane is tired, having not slept yet, but he stays vigilant, for Tylearys' and his group's safety. He begins to hum "La Seine" as they keep watch.
"Yes, Oghma, you are probably right Kane." Tylaerys goes back to digesting the details of the dream but let´s herself be distracted by soft humming and finds herself looking over to the tiefling more often during their vigil. Oh Mystra is he a test, another mystery to be solved She thinks to herself, trying to stay vigilant as the night passes.
Kane notices that she is watching him. “What you thinking about? Besides this incredible handsome Tielfing?” From the way he says it, you can tell he is joking.
Almarath: Curiosity getting the better of him, Almarath shines his light upon the doorway to get a closer look. Outstretching his hand, he feels the flow and pull of the magic at work.
Like a child learning not to touch fire, the old man yanks his hands away with an embarrassing yelp and exclaims, "Shadow Weave! I'd bet my life on it!"

Tylaerys straightens up and looks around. "Wait, what incredible handsome tiefling?" She then cracks up in a smile looking at Kane again speaking softly. "Oh that handsome devil. I´m beginning to think that Mystra sent him to test my commitment to this holy quest, and I admit I can think of little else right now. I just hope I can take my own advice and don´t let myself be distracted when the shadows gathers around us." Her tone a bit more serious at the end.
Earlier (I guess) as Almarath examines the doorway. "Be careful Almarath, you almost set off Freyas glyph of warding." Tylaerys says pointing to the floor in front of them. "Wait, what did you say about the shadow weave?" She asks curiously.
Almarath: Slowly backing away from the door, Almarath calms himself a moment and answers, "Each School of Magic radiates a different color. The magic emanating from this doorway is like nothing I've ever seen before. It can only be...," he pauses for dramatic effect, "... the Shadow Weave. The dark power known only to the followers of Shar."

Kane smiles as Tylaerys speaks softly to him, but when “distraction” is mentioned, he frowns. “I don’t want to be a distraction. I don’t think you are a distraction to me. Yes, this mission is important…but can’t other people be equally as important? I know you are devoted to Mystra, but I don’t want to be thought of as some temptation or sin. That may have been not what you meant, but that’s how I understood it. When Almarath begins to talk about Shadow Weave, Kane’s ears perk up. “Shadow Weave? That’s sounds…dangerous. I trust you know what you are doing, Almarath. I’ll see if I can help. My knowledge of Arcana is probably much less then your’s. Arcana: 18
"Oh Kane, I´m so sorry." Tylaerys looks at the tiefling, tears welling in her eyes. "I would never consider it sinful to show affection, and neither I am sure would Mystra. It´s only that I´m overwhelmed by being given an important task by my goddess and then meeting someone very special before even taking my first step on the path of this holy quest. Forgive me please."She leans over and places her hand on Kanes shoulder and looks him deeply in his straight black eyes, like two voids of mystery.
