The entrance is blocked by a closed door. It's made of bronze and has a wooden latch across it, which looks like I could be easily lifted to open the doors. There are snake holes all over the door, most likely the way the Yuan-ti travel through it without opening the door - they just transform into snakes, and back to snake-people and vice versa. Two yuan-ti stand at attention on each side of the door, and another yuan-ti wanders around. So a total of three guards.
OOC: that was my understanding. BTW crispy, for scouting purposes, slither now has devil's sight (can see normally in magical and non magical darkness)
If slither used wild shape would he remain invisible?
(Oh I wasn't planning on running up to them. I was thinking of sneaking up and teleporting 60' to land right next to one.)

OOC: Of course, remember what happened last time? Horns everywhere. If we pick a fight, they’ll swarm. They think we’re dead. Let’s opt for stealth this time around

OOC: We aren't gonna get farther then the door then. Invisible or not I'm pretty sure they will notice if we open the door. Our best option is to probably fight them or try lead them away.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I thought we were looking at a tunnel, sorry.
Maldrek will fly up and check around the area for any other entrances or suspicious location.
Perception:15
While flying he does a few flips in the air and enjoying the flight he's been granted, after all they've gone through the experience is sort of relaxing.
You do spot another "entrance" in the back of the ruined palace. It looks like a gaping hole that leads under the palace, like a festering wound in the Earth. Nice roll.

Mal's gonna fly down and check it out for any patrols or traps that might be around it.(Being mindful of time of course. Not sure which one you need so I'll roll for both Perception and Investigation, just use whatever applies.)
The passage winds into the bowels of the earth, straight down mostly, but curving at an angel occationally. The air is wet and sticky, and the walls are slick with moisture. Harmless multi-legged insects crawl across the walls and floor as you descend.
THE CAVERN
The passage widens into a cavern filled with fungi, with an enormous river crossing it. Toadstools, puffballs, and other tuberous growths cover the walls and floor. Against the far wall, a malformed skeleton lies buried under a patch of buttery mold. A brass key hangs around its neck.
There is a huge slime on the wall, writhing, twitching, waiting for anything it can "see" to drop on from above. In addition to that, the underground river has two boats moored at the edge. There is a cowbell attached to a post next to them, with four yuan-ti guards wandering the area. From this vantage point, you can see that from here, you can go along the cavern paths along the river, or two other tunnel directions - one north, and one west.
SLITHERINO
A very large and aggressive looking yuan-ti and barking orders at four yuan-ti soldiers beyond the main door. There is a path that leads left, and one straight ahead. There is a massive grate on the floor that contains writhing snakes in it. They all look mean and poisonous. A humanoid creature would easily fall through it while walking.

Well, they're definitely out of melee range.

Yes. And yes.

OOC: You do have flight, so you could scout for openings or patrols. Slither could also become an invisible snake with flight

If Slither slid his sliding snake self into one of the holes (Ok, that sounds wrong, but i'm not gonna edit it) he could get inside.
That's what I had in mind, taking a snake form and will look into one of the holes

Any observations for slither the snake looking through holes at the main entrance?
