shade glances up. "should we finish the..." she trails off, knowing its against her alignment. "should we ditch her? I'm sure someone in there can stabilize her and for goodness sake shes a pain."

Bryn death save: 12. Bryns level of likelihood to kill shade if she were awake: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. or in simpler terms, beyond calculation. and shed probably succeed if no one else got involved. and she might twist it so it worked with her alignment to kill shade all the way.

if bryns... feud is to problematic i can 'replace' her. id just change her race and backstory. i have several homebrew races.she has useful spells and off the tanks my preference is paladin.

k, I'm changing her somewhat.

(making this up) bryn spasms and dies. shade feels her pulse: medicine, 20(not natural). "shes dead! i mean, she dead. wait, we need someone to replace her."

nope, she did.

thru the open door a woman was watching you. she seems human but has a sort of... different thing about her. she has dark skin, yet her hair is the color of molten gold and she seems ageless. she walks out towards you with an eyebrow raised, having watched all your fights quietly.

"wow. you killed a member of your own party?" she figers her sword and eyes you. "what are your designs here? you seem to be troublemakers, and you would kill one of your own without remorse." under her breath you hear her mutter, "idiot mortals..."

Shade responds. "she was a jerk. we'd never met before. we didn't mean to kill her, she started a fight." (somebody besides shade get her to join the party. i don't want another death.)

Ailia is a homebrew race called sunborn, from a short story I'm writing. it doesn't incorporate as well to dnd as to fantasy form of irl(where the characters are about to destroy humani-i mean... where the characters are going to save the world *cough*from humanity*cough cough*. the character in that is a moonborn but a moonborn would make a better rouge then a paladin. techinclly all but one(dead) sunborn are men, but I prefer to play girls. in fact out of all my(dnd) characters(i have a lot) there are no boys. of course in my writing there are but only a couple as main characters, and typically when they're important they're the antagonist. off the top of my head I can think of 2 that were good. both were sorta love interests. both died.(I say sorta because according to ellen, krystens wife killed him. accoriding to krystens wife, sorin, ellen killed him.) and I don't write romance often. actually, I'm not going to talk about my writing in the interest of preserving your sanity and faith in mine.

With a glare at you, particualy shade and kal, she lens down at touches bryn, casting revify. she then uses lay on hands and heals 10 hp. bryn jumps up, staring at you.

"you're insane!" she turns and runs. shades insight check: 19, she says "we should get out of here. i have a feeling shes getting the city guard." she makes an awkward attempt at a smile(she doesn't do happy. she doesn't really know how to smile) at kal. "thanks. you probably saved my life." she turns to everyone else. "we do need someone to fill her role though." she turns slowly to the stranger, who shakes her head and pointedly glances at the pool of blood. "yeah, like I want to take her place. if she weren't on her way, id turn you in myself. in fact, being a jerk isn't a reason to kill her..." she snatches shade, strength checks: 19 against 6, she wins, shade is grappled. she pulls out one of shades daggers and holds it to her throat. shades eyes widen.

"you're going to let me ti you up and wait for the city guard or she dies. are we clear?"(shoot i don't have a tendency to make my characters like each other! is anyone lawful? mayb they can smooth this over after the city guard is over with.)

"let me go!" shades eyes are wide and shes genuinely afraid. thorn flies up and circles in confusion. her hood falls back and she winces as the sun hits her eyes(she always wears that thing. she could easily go blind.). she screams, having no way to fight back.

surrender or roll initive. if you do, she goes first because she had surprise. her turn is over but as a reaction she can kill shade instantly. wow this is a bad situation, what am i doing? 

Shades initive(which doesn't matter she has no chance of escape): 19.

is there a time we can plan to all sit down and play? i have free time all fridays and Saturdays and other weekdays after about 2:00. sundays i have church and i try to do family history or something after, so busy sundays. saturday nights i play dnd irl. aside from that i have no set things i do.(I'm speaking in eastern time zone.)

Wait, for the sake of less casualties, honing in on a mistake. shades persasion check(at disadvantage). 25 to 23! yay! k, so she didn't attack.

"swear to me you wont attack me?"

"i swear."

"fine. where are you going?"

"the underdark."

"the underwhat? i value the sun." another persasion check, not at disadvantage. 28 to 14, she sighs. shade shows her the maps. arcana check: she reads underdark.

"ok, I'm not doing anything else..."

yay! thanks to shade being really good at persausion(+9) shes joined!(i didn't reroll for plot convince or anything. ailia rolled a nat 20 and shade still managed it)

and shoot. i accedentally turned off my computer and lost what I was doing. shade convinced her(19 against 28 I think) to go thru the yawning portal. anyone lg or ln can make a charisma save against 28 . if they fail, they follow shade. assuming everyone followed, we're at the bottom of the yawning portal.

if my characters fail, make a perception check(at disadvantage if you don't have darkvision, advantage if you do)(trying to beat 15). Shade: 20(not natural)(she was rolling at advantage or would have a 1) Ailia: nat 1. Ailia fell off the rope as she scanned and took 3 bludegoening damage. she landed on her head and is blinded for a minute.

shade(and anyone who got over 15) sees a complex web of caves, clearly mined. you can see pickaxe scuffs in some places. at one wall you see a cleft, big enough for a medium creature to pass thru, that is obviously unnatural. if you see this roll insight, history, or nature check(preferably insight, but your choice) at advantage. only advantage for insight. SHade: wow, 7. k, if you get over 10, you figure its a passage to the underdark. if not, consider getting new dice, yours may be broken. or a new character.

bryn recovers her sight and makes another attempt, this time at 16 dc. she cast dancing lights and is not at a disadvantage. 8. failed. she tries again, this time at a 17 dc. 10. wow the girl is blind. for goodness sake, last try at 18 dc. 4. I want to punch her. one... more... try(its going to be a 1 isn't it?)? ah... ah....? the dice lie! it says nat 20(22). she... did it? her insight: 23.

she points it out. "that must lead to the underdark."

shade glances at it. "oh. yeah. of course." she silently berates herself for having faulty dice- i mean, brain, and follows Ailia in.

It has begun!

whats your order? in the underdark i think it would be expedient to have a tank with darkvision(kal?) in the front, and maybe Aulia with dancing lights in the back? though for... nevermind that's plot based.  you absolutely DO NOT(; need someone with.... nevermind. ok, so probably put tanks at either end. the healer should go in the middle. maybe shade should go behind kal, behind her nimbus, and in front of ailia Ioquain? that way everybody has characters in front and back? feel free to rearrange. 

though in this corridor there's space for 2 people side by side. maybe keep Ailia alone in the back because we don't have enough tanks, then put ioquain in the front with kal? or wait, maybe ioquain in the back with a torch, the paladins up front, then shade in front of ioquain and winsome genisis characters between the paladins and shade? i didn't delibritly put anyone who would be short-term best for the soon encounter, I just used logic.

alright, so you progress along the cave prob ly feeling pretty nervous. Ailia particularly has her lips in a tight line and her dancing lights have taken the form of a sun, which she stares at wistfully. within about 30 minutes of walking you see 10 mysterious creatures. they shy away from the light. its difficult to see them. they seem rather small. the tallest, who seems to be their leader, is about 5 feet. 

roll history, insight, or nature(your choice). Shade(wow shes bad at all of those. insight): 8. Ailia(also best at insight): 21!

so everybody needs to roll, which means everyone needs to get on, which means this could take a while.

btw i would like to propose a new strategy: every time we get into a fight, wait back and send kal in. by the end of his first turn, the enemy is sure to be dead. don't deny it.

...i think i know what we're doing after this plot... we're going to be hanging out in the underdark a lot. its going to be epic. and require a very high level. 

consider getting your weapons ****** ** ******.

btw as you walked Ailia told you her name and race(you could tell she was a paladin).

if your confused about sunborns then look up under homebrew races moonborn. that has the backstory. sunborn has the traits.

btw we are absolutely going to run into a fallen sunborn i cant wait

long story short, Ailia is picking up a drow child and raising her to be a paladin.

can anyone test my sunborn or moonborn homebrew races? not as a played character, just make a quick sheet and delete it later? i think I got it functioning but I'm not sure.

sunborns should have +3 strength, +2 constitution, and +1 dexterity.

Moonborns should have bonuses in dexterity and the brain abilities, tho I cant remember how much.

I'm updating moonborn right now(currently working on variants), and sunborn is done and published(Ailia is Sunborn. its not the craziest or weirdest race I've homebrewed, just ask Sayah(my shadow sorcerer).). i just need to know if there are bugs to fix.

its op. most races have +2/+1, or +1/+1/+1, with some +2/+2
