As you begin the trek at about dusk, the two goblins look back at the festivities fondly, and grab a few apples each for the walk. Stuffing a couple in pockets, and a couple in their mouths as they exit through the 'gates' of this village. As the sun sets, and the moon comes out, the light now only fitting between the trees of the swamp, the two Harengone come together and quickly light torches to provide light to walk.
Following the stream is rather easy, though Speedwell does begin to lead the group slightly off course following a clear animal trail until Autumnleaf starts to snicker, causing him to realize he'd been caught in his thoughts of how often goblins have been so destructive to his homeland and the past, and here he was, now traveling with some, even if only temporarily. Catching his thoughts he quickly backtracks with the group and catches back up to the stream, following it down towards the coast, and where he assumes will be the ship marked on the map, which is he now holding, as he leads of the company. The two goblins in the back talk amongst each other, mostly in goblin, interrupted only by some laughter, or the sound of munching on another apple. They seem content to let the 'outsiders' lead, and are almost enjoying watching them stumble around in their swamp with their bright torches lit.
The trek itself is not enjoyable, as the swamp has the occasional bog the group must either go around, or through, as well as the occasional thick tangle of stinging needles, which come out of the trees even occasionally nicking Autumleaf as she floats above the rest. These do slow travel slightly, but are no major hazard to loosing your way with such a clear stream to come back to and follow.
The better part of a couple hours pass by, and it's now early evening, as Speedwell checks his map and guesses the group to be a bit more than halfway to the X on the map. Though the terrain itself remains the same, you do all start to notice that within the brambles and mangrove trees are the occasional rather large spiderweb, but with your torches are easily able to burn away any that get in your path. It's also around this time that you notice that the rear of your troop has suddenly become rather quiet, as the sounds of the goblins' chuckling seems to have disappeared.
Going back over your tracks no more than 100 meters you see where the goblins were walking. Their tracks are very easy to find, as they weren't doing much to hide them, and we're being very careful in general. What's odd though is that suddenly the tracks literally disappear, and there is a half-eaten apple on the ground, as if they suddenly vanished. As you look around a bit more and notice the webs in the trees are quite thick. It doesn't take long with Speedwell's experience in nature to see that only a few meters off the path you'd been following there is a trail of something with many more legs, which appears to be dragging something, roughly goblin sized, behind it.
I'll stick with speedwell's nat 20 since it was first, even though it appears you aren't actually tracking goblins atm. Though it was also still useful in finding their tracks.
“Spiders,” Speedwell says. “Spiders took them that way.” There isn’t a whole lot of alarm in his voice at the loss of the goblins, really, but, he then says, “It’s possible the creature or creatures that took the goblins might come back for seconds. We might want to follow it and kill whatever we find there just to be safe.”
"Eight by eight, and lot's of legs, to give out tender hugs. Leave us all full of eggs, food for baby bugs."Autumnleaftitters, though she does start to flutter in the direction Speedwell pointed.

If you think my puns are bad, I'll remind you, my profile pic says otherwise.
“I defer to your good judgement, Speedwell. If you think we should clear them, I am with you. If you think they’re full, I’ll leave them.” Giovani shrugs
Speedwell very seriously considers suggesting that the group leaves the goblins, but his better nature is nagging at the corners of his conscious, Just because they’re goblins doesn’t mean they deserved to be taken like that. Did they have families? If nothing else, what would Frith say about you if you just let two of your companions get taken without so much as an attempt to get them back?
Speedwell, clearly feeling conflicted, exclaims, “Gah! Let’s go after them. They were traveling with us. At the least, we owe them the attempt.”
"To be clear, you are suggesting finding the spider's nest, ...in the dark, ...to save goblins." Inif' raises his eyebrow to accentuate his inquiry. "Does anyone else see the folly is this idea?"
Speedwell subtly recoils at Autumnleaf’s acknowledgment of his comment but focuses his attention at Inif’, “I know it’s dangerous, but, as Giovani mentioned, even if we decide to forsake our unfortunate companions, there is a chance the spider (or spiders) might decide to take us out one at a time. Until it’s dealt with, whether we rescue the goblins or not, we’re at higher risk of death than we already were.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After a moment with no other debate, Speedwell turns towards the darkness and begins to follow the spider tracks/trail into the forest. (Speedwell does have blindsight up to 10’, just for awareness.) As he does so, he says, “Alright then. It’s settled. Let’s go.” Not really waiting on the others, he begins to stealth his way into the darkness.
Given the darkness and the forest, he knows there isn’t much hope of this ending up a ranged combat, so he keeps his sword at the ready.
