Following the trail is pretty easy, the webs continue to get thicker and thicker, though nothing you can’t easily deal with with your torches, and there is an obvious path to follow as it seems the goblins were pulled in a hurry. Staying quiet, the group is able to follow the trail into the swamp for a couple hundred meters until you come to a rather large, almost nest type structure of web just on the outside of your torch light. Approaching, Speedwell believes he can hear movement and rustling from inside, though from this distance it’s a bit hard to know for sure what exactly you’re listening to.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Speedwell holds his hand up in a hold on sort of way, indicating he doesn’t want the others to follow just yet. Then, in a very low whisper, he says, “I think I hear something,” and he points in the direction of the sounds.
Continuing to try and stealth, Speedwell slowly approaches the sound in order to attempt to identify it. He is ready to hop away in an instant, though.
I’m not sure which you would want me to roll, so here’s a generic d20: 11
Speedwell, knowing he has slightly better vision in the dark than the others, at least up close, leaves the group and torches behind to quickly scout the nest ahead of him. Once he leaves the light from the torches, he can see only just in front, but as he approaches the entrance it's enough to peer in and, just as he vision fades into blackness, see a number of cocoon shapes hanging from the ceiling, two looking very fresh, as well as a large spider doing spider things to the web.
I used the roll (11) for stealth, and used your passive perception
Speedwell quietly returns to the group and quietly reports what he has seen: “There’s a large spider, and a few cocoons in there. I’m betting the two freshest are our goblins. I say we attack.”
Inif' nods. "Agreed. What is the plan? I propose to draw it out with a lighted torch. I'll deal with any webs its throws while others assail it from range. Or I could disturb it's web from a distance... I can move small objects telepathically."
Autumnleafconsiders, spinning slowly as though in a gyroscope."A lure you say, like bait for fish. To attract eight legs for us to squish. Let me distract, then nimbly fly, draw out the creature, then make it die."

Speedwell listens to both Inif’ and Autimnleaf and considers their suggestion. “I was honestly having a similar thought to both of you. I would rather us not burn the spider out, though, because I don’t want anyone still alive in there to die. But, Autumnleaf, if you’re going to use yourself as bait, just be careful. I imagine you would be exactly the kind of snack this spider would capture in its webs.”

Inif' Itum smiles at the faerie's language. "In Limbo, you must will water to bind and take shape. That is the 'bait' for the fish." Inif pauses briefly and nods his head as if to accentuate his philosophical statement. He shifts his eyes among his companions.
"Apologies, that is another conversation. Yes, then I shall give you the torch and I'll ready my crossbow." Inif pulls out his light crossbow, motions to the ranger to take position on the opposite flank, and walks quietly into the dim light.
Speedwell also takes out his crossbow as he takes the opposite flank as Inif'. Once he's in position, he nods to Inif' that he's ready, his ears twitching back and forth as he listens to his surroundings.
Autumnleaftakes the offered torch, spinning in place with a giggle, waiting until the others are in position before moving towards the entrance, hovering just above the opening to remain out of line of sight from the interior, and begins to speak loudly and dramatically.
"Oh me oh my oh no, wherever could I be, wherever shall I go? Lost fae flesh in tracts unknown, wandered before this webbed mound, a perilous fate perhaps I've sown, mine own end, here, found?"

k. I’ve put this in the encounter builder here. I really hope it saves. Curious if it’ll move between devices or not… Let me know if you want a map. At this point I don’t think it’s really needed, and I have a way to do a map to share if you’d like it, but for (hopefully) simple fights I think Theatre should work out ok.
readied web attack 18, because of: “Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the spider knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.“ - This is what I forgot/didn’t know about when Speedwell went in, or he likely would have been caught and started combat then… really… But that’s ok~ My mistake for not thinking about it ahead of time. Now you all got time to prepare instead :)
note: movement speed is slowed while in the webs around the lair
As the group takes up their positions, careful to find a vantage point, doing their best to not get stuck in any of the webbing around them, Autumnleaf flies towards the entrance, flitting around the webs around her. Though it’s easy to not get stuck, every one moves a bit slower, Autumnleaf needs to slow down her spins and circles, and no one is able to avoid touching at least some of the web in the area.
As she approaches with her torch, she can see just inside the entrance from her angle and sees some mandibles clicking and eyes reflecting the torch light as the spider seems to have known of her approach and readied itself for the prey. Once in range ((we’ll say 15 feet away, so still easily outside the entrance)), a web flies shoots out towards the faerie entangling her in with the rest of the web around her.
Inif‘ s turn; Giovani & Autumnleaf may queue up actions.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Inif' with amazing reflexes is the first to act. He fires a crossbow bolt at the spider and advances towards Autumnleaf with concern of her entanglement. "Help is on the way" Inif calls out.
Inif', with his sharp eyes, spots the mandibles of the spider and looses a bolt the split second after its web was released. Though there wasn't much to aim at, he had focused for the moment and managed to hit it. At the same time as the web entangles the faerie, her bouncy companion comes running up to help, and with the excitement of action upon them, is able to give a mighty Harengone leap up to where she was netted, gets a good handful of webbing, and yanking at it as he drops to the ground is able to tear enough for Autumnleaf to easily shake the rest off.
Looking into the hole, Autumleaf has a full few of the spider, and Giovani's view is now only slightly blocked. Each of them can see that as the bolt sticks into the 'shoulder' of the creature that its abdomen begins to almost vibrate or shimmer, as if disturbed by the creature being in pain.
Having been released from the webbing by Giovani,Autumnleafdips a bow to him in thanks, and then raises a hand to the Spider, speaking in a giddy tone."Sneaky spider of glinting eye, I'll eat your legs after you die."As she does, there's a brief flare before sparkling violet light erupts around the area the spider is in.
Autumn leaps free from her webs and casts a spell towards the spider, but in its fury it, and the babies it carries on its back, manage to avoid the magic. The spider then rears its head as the bolt takes it in the side, and distracted from it's target suddenly focuses on the first thing in front of it, a tall, black eared Harengone; softer meat anyway. Sinking her teeth into the rabbit, the babies swarm off the mother's back and continue on towards the flying faerie, surrounding her and biting into her flesh with many little bites.

Speedwell is going to look for a vantage point that would allow him to be elevated (in a tree?) but, before trying to move anywhere, he attempts to shoot the large spider with a crossbow bolt.

For his movement, after he takes his shot, he’s going to try to just take his full movement plus a hop to move away from where he was, and stay 30’-ish away from the spiders. If he can get up into a tree, then he’ll do that, but if not, he’s just trying to not stay in one place.
