You all begin to make your way through the cells, one by one. The first 4 cells don't reveal much, just rusty old locks and chains, however, one of the cells in the middle of the room shows a skeleton, slouched down against the wall where the locks and chains are located. One of it's hands hangs from the shackles as if it was left here to die.
Janek;
You miss the reveal of the skeleton as you were focused on the south (Right) cells in the middle of the room. The cells themselves did not reveal to have anything of note however, when you were exiting one of the cells, you noticed that the ground by the south wall has track marks, made by old water that might have stained the floor. As you inspect it further, you reveal it to be a secret door. Hanging on the right side of the door is a an old oil lamp.
(if anyone else would like to make a perception check, you may.)

Elysis, not sure the cells are safe, looks around, trying her best to not let her new companions detect the fact she is worried about what's next to come.
Janek says, "I think that's a hidden door over here." He points to south wall with an old oil lamp on the right side of where the door evidently would be.
As the secret door is pried open, the chamber that was originally seen on the other side of the bars is visible. The chanting stops as you peer into this forty-foot-square room. The smooth masonry walls provide excellent acoustics. Featureless stone pillars support the ceiling, and a breach in the west wall leads to a dark cave heaped with refuse. Murky water covers most of the floor. Stairs lead up to dry stone ledges that hug the walls. In the middle of the room, more stairs rise to form an octagonal dais that also rises above the water. Rusty chains with shackles dangle from the ceiling directly above a stone altar mounted on the dais. The altar is carved with hideous depictions of grasping ghouls and is stained with dry blood.

You notice that the water itself is only about 2ft deep, with that platform that you are currently on, only 3ft above that. You notice the the ceiling of the chamber is roughly 16ft high and the chains dangling from the ceiling are longer than the average person. You would also notice that hanging from one of the chains, is a skeletal hand and forearm. Against one of the walls is a wheel that appears to be turnable, and can be assumed that it opens the barred gate next to it. Besides these things, you don't notice anyone or anything else in the room.
(Without going into the water and fully exploring the various different things, this is all you can discern.)
"A place for all to suffer...Be wary folks. Maybe someone with a light foot can go in and look around." He would then gather a few small stones in his hand for tossing later.

"I fear Durant is probably right. But we probably should look." Janek will walk towards one of the stair steps (the ones on the bottom side of the map) but keeps just back from the water. he takes a look around to see if he can see anything. (Perception: 20)
You are on the opposite side that Janek is going towards, but as you look over the wheel, it appears to be unused for some time.
Janek;
As you make your way to the bottom of the stairs, stopping just shy of the water, you get a better look of the water. It doesn't appear that the water has any signs of bodies in it, but you do see some stray floating debris floating around. Besides that, nothing further stands out from this point.

Janek will back up in order to get a running start and then will jump over the water to reach the other side. He will make his way around to where the wheel is located, keeping an eye out for anything in the room or in the water. (Perception: 17)
Janek, you clear the water and make it to the other side without problem, almost as if you've done this for a living in your past life. However, the focus of making it across draws your focus from other things and you aren't able to notice anything during your jump. As you look and explore the other side, it looks very similar to the side you just came from. Nothing stands out to you on this side.

Durant would like to check the cell he currently stands at and if nothing there, goes to the next one.

"This place be a maze..ghastly business, all of it. We must be careful of what could lie in wait ahead."
Durant would make a perception check of the area to ensure we aren't going to be ambushed. 18

Ignatias vision pierced the darkness and she regarded the altar with intensity, " Nothing good is worshipped here."
She held up the shrunken halfling head to her ear, " Whats that? Let someone else go first? Yes, very good advice."
