All - You steel yourselves in preparation for what awaits below... Ruby takes a deep breath and lets it out with a nod. She takes the first step onto the creaking stairway and suddenly, horrible screams begin to emanate from the pitch black darkness of the cellar, the cries of a soul in torment!
Please make DC 12 WIS Saving Throws!
Daveth WIS Saving Throw: 13
Any who fail the save has disadvantage on all ability checks for 1 hour unless they are immune to the frightened condition. The saving throw can be repeated every 15 minutes. It has been 15 minutes since the last WIS Saving Throw, so a success here would end the last effect and also prevent this one. A failure would mean the player is only affected by the most recent effect. A player can not be affected by both.
All - The screams fade, but you can still hear the storm battering the house around you. Assuming you all descend the steps into the darkness with some form of illumination for those without darkvision... Shoulder-height wooden bottle racks line the north and west walls here. There appear to be no intact bottles left in the racks and shattered bottles cover the floor. Against the east wall, at the foot of the stairs, rest two large wooden storage bins that appear to be empty. In the center of the room lies a human corpse clad in plate mail; a longsword lies by the corpse’s right side, and a large shield covers its legs. The foot prints you all saw earlier lead right up to a section of the southern wall between the fireplace and smaller wooden crate.
"Well, there is that skeleton at least"Elwyn says, having no problem with he darkness himself. "The footprints seem to lead to that wall. Weird, could it be..." He says while moving to the wall and looking for signs of a secret door. Investigation: 18
Elwyn - Go ahead and re-roll the Investigation check. You should have had advantage on the roll since you followed the foot prints directly to the area you're searching.
All - Daveth says, "Hey, what's wrong with Kulogall?" and any that turn to look at him will see Kulogall standing rigid and unmoving. His eyes are open but they're as black and cold as the rocky cliffs out in the storm. He doesn't respond to any calls or shakes. After a minute or so his eyes flutter and return to normal. He then sinks down the the ground with a gasp.
Kulogall -
Upon seeing the corpse, you're suddenly back in Xolo's body again. You're standing in a cave, watching as a fierce storm bashes the coast and sets the seas frothing in fury. You feel the salty spray of sea water as waves crash against the rickety wooden dock about 25ft ahead of you. The rowboat moored to the dock is quickly lifted and suddenly dropped as it rides the storm surge. You hear someone approaching, timidly, and hear a voice call out to you, "Xolo? Sir? N-Ned says there's folks snooping about upstairs... He says another..." The dolt swallows his fear and continues, "He says another Triton is with them. Thought you might want to know sir..." A small smile cross your face as the presence you felt earlier is confirmed. The subordinate who was addressing you is shivering as he awaits your reply, possibly from the bitter chill of the storm but more likely from the bitter chill of the smile on your face. "Tell the men to withdraw into the caves and wait for them to leave. If they somehow find the caves, deal with them. But bring the Triton to me. Alive." The man nods and says "Yes sir, right away Xolo sir." He then leaves to carry out your order. With the cold smile still on your face, you think, Ah, Kul... You shouldn't have come here... Lightning crashes and you snap back to awareness in your own body once more.
"Skeleton? Is that a body? I can´t really see it´s too dark for me. Just give me a minute, should have done this in the first place." She says and starts rummiging through her backpack for a lantern. She will light it unless someone else helps them see better.
Wake will position himself appropriately and within range of the beneficiaries and utilize Eyes of Night.
(You can see through the deepest gloom. You have darkvision out to a range of 300 feet. In that radius, you can see in dim light as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light.
As an action, you can magically share the darkvision of this feature with willing creatures you can see within 10 feet of you, up to a number of creatures equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of one creature). The shared darkvision lasts for 1 hour. Once you share it, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of any level to share it again.)
Ruby gets it. And Elwyn and Kulogall get their dark vision extended to 300’.
”Let’s only light a candle if we think we need to see color.”
"Oh, thanks that helps." Ruby says and smiles at Wake, before turning to Kulogall. "Hey Kulogall, are you okay?" She says as she waves her small hand right in front of his face.
Whatever was affecting Kulogall has passed. He seems fine now, though a little shaken by his experience. You've only seen this type of malady a handful of times before. You believe Kulogall was gripped by a powerful vision. Whatever he saw was as real to him as you are now.
"Any chance you all could have a look at this wall right here, it's very interesting I can tell you." Elwyn says to the others after a futile attempt to locate the secret door that he is convinced is right before him.

"Hmm..? Oh, the footprints lead to the wall. You´re right this is interesting." She says, leaving Kulogall in Wake´s hands. Ruby will investigate the wall and the fireplace next to it for anything that might look like a lever or a switch. She will also keep her eyes peeled for any thieves cant symbols.
You follow the foot prints to the section of wall Elwyn was referring to. You immediately spy a stone that looks more worn than the others around it. Upon closer inspection you also see that there is a small gap all the around the stone, whereas the other stones are tightly mortared together. You give the stone a slight press. It slides inward slightly and you feel that it is attached to some sort of mechanism. You haven't activated the switch yet, but you know where it is and how to activate it when you are ready.
Kulogall says “Wait, wait.” His left hand grips his head, he gives it a small shake. “Danger here. Xolo. Ned. It was all a ruse.”
He takes a few deep breaths. “Don’t do anything, everyone hold still until we discuss this. You see, I can see one of the pirates, thieves, something, talking to Xolo. He mentions Ned telling them that we are here. I wonder if that is Cal on the floor there. We are getting close. And all of us are in grave danger. We need to think for a minute.”
