"Ned, hah, that scallywag, he tricked me. And I even gave him my cloak. Oh, now I'm really angry. Can you tell where they are at?" Elwyn asks Kulogall, eager to get his cloak back now.
“He is heading out to sea, by a rowboat. But he mentions the caves, that someone is waiting to attack us in the caves. They want to capture me and bring me to Xolo. I’m afraid that I’m putting you all in danger.” Kulogall’s head drops, worried.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Nah, you're our ace in the hole Kulogall." Elwyn says and places a comforting hand on the triton's shoulder. "Just keep telling us what that rapscallion of a brother you have is up to now and then." He adds with a smirk. "Any luck with that wall Ruby?"
"Yeah, I found a switch that might open it. Just tell me when you´re ready." She says and looks at the body on the floor, worried. "I realy hope it´s not Cal, but I think we should check, just to make sure.."
Wake will cautiously approach the body, expecting it to be a trap in some way. He will be looking for loose stones in the floor indicating pressure plates. Looking high for suspended items that could drop or sweep across the area. Looking side to side for murder holes from which projectiles could shoot him down. Constantly praying to Selune. He is in no hurry, so he will be very deliberate, slowly walking in concentric circles, looking down, up and sideways until he is within arm reach of the body. His shield raised.
When close enough, he will use his warhammer to provide reach and gently lift the deadman’s shield away from the legs. Slowly so as to detect any trip wires that may be attached.
If that is successful, he will move to the head and do the same to try and get a look at the face.
If all of this goes without a hitch, he will kneel next to the body and perform a visual postmortem.
Wake - You don't see any suspended objects, mysterious holes in the walls, nor potential pressure plates in the floor. Your approach is slow and measured and you're fairly confident the area is free from mechanical traps. During one of your rounds you do see that this corpse wears plate mail that is banged up — likely the result of brutal clubbing and kicking — but other than the dents, appears almost new. The longsword and the shield are also in a like new condition. You also spy a necklace lying next to the corpse in the pool of dried blood that surrounds it. There appears to be a symbol or charm made of non-precious metal on a similarly non-precious metal chain. When you lift the shield, the corpse suddenly shifts... The shield falls aside with a clatter, and you see the pale, bloated midsection of the corpse between gaps in the armor. The flesh bubbles and splits, birthing hundreds of fat wriggling maggots. The scene sickeningly resembles curdled milk being squeezed from a bladder. The piles of thick maggots blindly squirm toward you!
The pile of maggots pours around Wake's booted feet, their tiny maws full of rows of short sharp teeth. Wake's new boots prove to be a mouthful and the grubs fail to burrow inside.

Elwyn is up!
All - You can attack the swarm beneath Wake without damaging him unless the attack has an area of effect.
"No, Wake, look out!"Elwyn shouts as the rot grubs spew forth from the corpse. Moving slightly to get a clear shot Elwyn then swiftly curses the swarm attacking Wake and then he unleashes a blast of blue eldritch energy from his tentacle-shaped wand towards it.
Elwyn - Your crackling blue blast lights up the cellar as it flies toward the swarm. It impacts and blows a large portion of the pile apart, pulverizing some and sending others blackened and shriveling through the air.

Wake furrows his brow as he listens to Kulogall.
”I could inspect the body to see if it a young man, but it seems unlikely that Cal could have squirreled away enough gold to afford plate mail.”
Wake will wait for some consensus before proceeding.
Wake will offer some water to Kulogall.
”Drink, if you are thirsty. And let me help you to your feet when you feel ready.”
