“Not while I’m working, but thanks.” Wake will reply to Ariana.
If it is decided that Wake should wear the plate, he will offer his scale mail to Daveth with the understanding that he is to return it upon request. Then he will begin the task of repairing and refitting both sets of armor.
”Can anyone make use of the longsword or shield? Daveth, why don’t you take the Explorer’s Pack, that has no water or rations. You might as well have the capacity to carry loot with us.”
Elwyn paces back and forth, waiting for Wake to finish up mending the plate armor. "Alright, let's do this." He says as everyone is ready to move through the secret door Ruby, and Ariana found.
Wake - Daveth takes the scale mail (His AC is now 16, up from 14) and after a few seconds consideration reluctantly looks over the pack, "Is there anything we can do about the blood and... other stuff?" He gags as he pulls the sticking pack from the dried pool of blood. "This stink will never wash out... I... *gag* I won't be able to sleep in this..." He removes the bedroll and tosses it aside. You hear him grumbling as he carefully sorts through the items in the pack, "This house might not be haunted but this pack probably is..."
“Last call for the longsword and shield. We can try and carry them or just come back later to get them. Don’t forget we’ve got those traps outside to try and haul back to town as well. Maybe we should have brought a wagon.” Wake says with a smile.
”Hope to be able to share some of that wine with you, in celebration, Ariana.”
Wake makes last minute adjustments to the straps fitting the heavier armor and says, “I’m ready.”
He immediately bestows Vigilant Blessing on himself and volunteers to lead the way if it is the will of the group.
"I could probably use the longsword if no one else wants it." She says and lifts the longsword from the ground. "Well then, if everyone´s ready.." She says and pushes the switch on the wall, waiting for it to open.
All - Ruby presses the stone switch and you hear a mechanism CLINK behind the wall. A 5ft section of the wall swings slightly inward. You all step inside and see that this torchlit chamber was once a large cellar, but it has since been converted into living quarters. Ten crude beds stand along the south wall, each with a wooden locker at its foot. A long wooden trestle table ringed by rickety stools dominates the center of the room. Metal cutlery, cups, and dirty plates sit atop the table. A cookstove is installed near the table, and evidence of recently cooked meals sits in pots atop it. A large ham hangs from a loop of twine near the stove. A sturdy set of stairs leads to a trapdoor in the ceiling above. There are two wooden doors in the east side of the room.
Kulogall pauses and takes a long look at Cal, reaches out in his mind.
Are you there? Do you see this? What kind of a .. thing have you become? How could you? You have really drifted away, dear brother, I don’t know if I can even call you brother if you are killing innocent people like this. I am coming for you…
He shuts down any link that is made, forcing his mind closed, and walks through the door with the others.
”And here is their little base. Yes, we are in danger my friends. And these are bigger maggots that we are going to find soon. Perhaps behind that door over there? I can’t tell. He was near some cave, and the water…. Be on guard. Let’s have a look..”. Kulogall starts to open the trunks.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Ariana & All - When you head over to stand in the corner, you see that the door in the east wall has a wooden bar across it, held in brackets on the frame and the door itself. The word “DANGER” is scrawled on that door in the Common tongue using chalk.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kulogall -
You feel the familiar link to Xolo establish... Wind whips sea mist in your face and blows your cloak wildly about you as you stand on the rocky shore of the sea cave... You smile at the gift of the storm that the Queen of the Depths has blessed you with... You feel the mental probing of your older brother again, stronger this time, closer... You come for me? You seek you death, brother... Come then... I will wait for you and your doomed companions... The link is then quickly and violently cut off. Any further attempts to reestablish are ineffectual and rebuffed.
You find 3gp, 6sp, and 113cp amongst the personal effects in the lockers. One of the lockers is locked.

Wake points to this door and says,
”So, something that 9 or more bad guys fear … or maybe their leader just doesn’t want them to go near. Kulogall, if your brother is their leader, is he the kind of guy who would try to manipulate his followers in this way?”
Kulogall smiled a grim smile. “Absolutely. Sneakiness and misdirection are his ways of operating. I … felt his presence again earlier. He wants to kill me. He feels nearby.” He looks down, sad. “I don’t know, I don’t think I can bring myself to … kill him. If it comes to that, and we are fighting for our lives, perhaps one of you can .. can …”

Wake - Daveth mentions to you, "Do you think someplace in town might be able to cast some sort of spell to bring Cal back? Is there such magic? Maybe we could sell the armor? I'd be willing to help pay for it if it's possible.."
“Daveth, we can certainly look into it. Just don’t set your hopes too high. That body is in bad shape and his spirit has been gone a long time.” Wake will confide.

Ariana looks at Daveth. "Good luck getting through that trap door, eh?" she whispers and she rubs elbows with him.
Ariana - Daveth smiles and blushes, "It was a pretty good idea you had. I never would've thought of that."
Elwyn sneaks over to the closest door and listens to it, wand in hand.
