Hun's response is a simple but curt nod to Kwilgok. He then turned to Yulmiath with a surprised look and says, "Really? You don't recognize those glorious tits? Or, you know, any of the stories those tortles gave us regarding the palace?" Hun said incredulously, before shaking his head. "Well, I s'pose it's been a minute since its been directly brought up. But as /I/ recall, that there is probably everyone's' favorite maiden of water. Or as those that happen to catch her ire, the Sea Bi-otch herself no doubt!"He said confident, self-assured in his questionably flighty memory.
Because for all he knew, the statue's image could've been that of the Sea Captian they fought beneath the waves, or one of the other souls that crashed landed and had the Tortles support in erecting the temple in the first place! As Hun is saying all of that, Mr. Thicc had absentmindedly followed Kairus, intending to stay close to the Triton for whatever reason. Hun, having hopped off earlier to stop and take in the sights from afar, barely seems to take notice of this protective action, and instead seemed more concerned with Yulmiath.
(OOC: I used the wrong scale in the map above. Each square is supposed to be 10x10ft.)
Yulmiath takes a cursive look around, spotting one clear statue to the east and three obscures ones in the overgrown garden to the west. Asking out loud if anyone has a hunch towards the statues' identity, the dragonborn seems to bring out Hun's most sarcastic form, which doesn't seem to be too hard to do. The barbarian is already heading into the overgrown garden and slashing at plants by the time the kobold is making his suspicions about the lone statue known. This might have given Hun some pause: maybe Yulmiath meant the other three statues, but the artificer rants on.
As Yulmiath gets closer and closer to the other statutes, he notices that wild ferns and palms dominate the overgrown garden. Soon, he gets his answer: three statues, two depicting sharks and one depicting an octopus, are mounted atop a three-foot-high stone retaining wall overlooking the sea. Everything here is damp with spray from the crashing waves. It’s a 20-foot drop from the garden to the sea. As he advances, Yulmiath spots a few critters: the garden is home to harmless lizards, snakes, and spiders, but nothing too dangerous.
From his new position, Yulmiath also notices that a stone staircase climbs ten feet to a crumbling stone balcony that stretches southward as it hugs the palace wall. It is easy to see this may provide an alternate way into the temple, aside from the front door.
Thankful for the group generally agreeing to his plan, but still wanting to be helpful, Kwilgok approaches the lone statue to the east portion of the temple's front yard. "This must be some 10 feet in height," he exclaims. Turning to look around, he eventually shares another finding: "There is a 5-foot-wide, 8-foot-high crack in the palace wall on this side. I gather any of you without a shell on your back could sneak in that way."
Rhogal and Krodhen keep an eye on the road that led them here, just in case some other island animal tries to surprise them from behind.
Meanwhile, Kairus approaches the front door under the portico, with Mr. Thicc closely behind. Slanting beams of sunlight shine through the holes in the portico roof. In his observations, the triton confirms that the stone double doors that lead into the temple are carved with foamy waves that part in the middle. He then notes something curious: the amount of tiny harmless lizards sheltering here increases quite quickly as he approaches the double doors. Something about it begins to bother the bard and he gets confirmation a second later. A giant mama lizard makes her presence known. Previously lurking amid the plants in the southeast corner of the portico, she now steps forward to protect her brood. Thankfully, Kairus notices the threat before the reptile could rush and attack him in her instinct to protect, but she looks ready to attack should anyone get any closer. Kairus is currently 25ft away from the temple's main entrance and 20ft (diagonally) from the mama lizard.

"Oups!" Kairus froze with one foot in the air, carefully lowered it, and took a few steps back. "Something is here," informed he those studying the garden and watching the road. "Something big. Another lizard from the look of it." This time he did not try to calm the animal with the full concert but did his best to sound soothing and non-threatening. "Shhh. No need to worry, we are just passing through." The lizard most likely did not understand his words but he hoped that slow gestures and soft sounds were enough.
"Maybe we take that side entrance," still in a soothing tone added Kairus taking another step back.

Yulmiath lets Hun's wave of sarcasm wash over him. Calling back to the kobold, he jerks a thumb towards the exposed statues; the sharks and the octopus.
"I meant these three. Everybody knows the Sea-***** has a fine rack on her, every single statue of her has her getting her norks out somehow."
Finishing his little return, Yulmiath spits onto the ground as if the taste of her name were somehow unpleasant. Then in a softer voice, Yulmiath tries out some sarcasm of his own, giving himself a little chuckle.
"Besides, I thought you only had eyes for your wee Gnomish fella, Gond this and Gond that... Bet his tits are all saggy and hairy."
Wanting to investigate the side door further, Yulmiath takes a hempen rope from his waist and starts looking for a secure point to tie a line to. Failing that, he takes a piton from his climbers kit, hammering it into the stone to secure the rope to.
"Oh... well, fair enough."Hun started to give the trio of statues a once over, yet immediately halted at Yully's words. He then whipped around to face the dragonborn, practically tore off his goggles, and leveled the most heated glare up at him. But just as he looks about moments away from blowing his top, his subconscious gets the better of him in remember Kairus warning.
Some narrowed side-eying is done to Kairus before he adds in a tense stage whisper, "Gond. Is not. Gnomish! That's just bullcrap the gnomes made up 'cause the rest of their pantheon suck rotten eggs! C'mon, Mr. Yully. You know better than that." On that huffily spoken note, the kobold made to follow at a short distance, but intended only to the observe. The same could be said of Mr. Thicc, as he'd continue to shadow Kairus.

(OOC: Let me get some of these checks out of the way first.)
@Hun: Based on all the information you gathered in this island, you are pretty sure that the more humanoid statue to the east, and the entire temple for that matter, should indeed be dedicated to Umberlee, the Sea *****. That said, you can't rule out the theory that the statue is instead depicting the likeness of the undead captain of the Sea Mare or, more likely, the surviving captain of another vessel you explored in High Horn, the appropriately named ***** Queen.
@Yulmiath: Unlike Hun and the little bit of hesitation in his eyes, you have no doubt that the statue is, surely, a depiction of Umberlee, the Stormgoddess of the Seas. Having passively followed her belief and feared her fury for many years now, you are well-aware than a number of sea creatures are usually associated with her worship, like the oversized sharks and the kraken-like octopus chiseled from stone in this overgrown garden.
@Kairus: Without the others having to share their own findings with you, you have already arrived at the conclusion that this temple belongs to Umberlee, the Wavemother. The depiction of crashing waves parted in the middle was more than enough proof to you, as confirmed by the silver amulet you found and carried in this island for some time (or do you still have it?)
@Yulmiath: While clearing a path to the animal statues through the overgrown garden, you notice signs of critter-living that go beyond what you'd expect from the small lizards, snakes, and spiders you have already clocked. You find just a few footprints on the soil here that are quite small in size but more humanoid than any of these other critters would leave behind. Some of the trees also sport scratches left behind by sharper claws than the other inhabitants here would be able to create. That said, you do not feel threatened in this space, at least not right now.
Investigations and studies are suddenly interrupted by a call to attention from Kairus. Everyone is now aware of the threatening presence of a giant lizard right next to the temple's main entrance, though the triton is still the closest to the danger (with Mr. Thicc closely behind.)
Not wanting to initiate an unnecessary fight, and having had his fill of lizard meat over the last several days, Kairus moderates his voice and makes slow, predictable movements away from mama lizard and the front door. His gestures register as a show of deference in the lizard's brain, who changes stance to consider herself victorious in this encounter. As the bard and the construct backtrack a bit, the mama lizard goes back to her hidden spot behind some vegetation, though her hissing can still be heard. Kairus then suggests that the group tries to use the secondary or tertiary access points mentioned by Yulmiath and Kwilgok, respectively.
The call to attention reinforces Rhogal's intent on keeping an eye out for any other threats that might be approaching from behind. The dwarf sees nothing that would indicate such danger but, looking at Krodhen nearby, realizes that the half-orc is not currently providing much help in that regard despite standing shoulder to shoulder with the druid.
Oblivious to the goings on with the big mama lizard, Yulmiath gets closer to the side door, using the rope he freshly hammered into the wall to aid him on the crumbling stone stairs.
Passing his head to the door, he listens intently to see if any sounds from the building can be heard.
Hun observed at the base of the walkway, simply waiting to see what came of Yulmiath's exploration. Once given the all clear however, he'd send Mr. Thicc in next using the guideline, before he quietly (or in attempt at quietness) followed suit.

Not knowing how useful this secondary entryway in is about to be for the entire party given the trouble found at the front gate, Yulmiath ascends a set of steps and secures some rope and pitons as he goes, for additional safety: the balcony the steps lead to is crumbling in several spots. As the dragonborn makes his way to the balcony, he notices that what his thought was a side door is actually a window leading into a room. Looking inside, Yulmiath sees what can only be described as abandoned personal quarters. The room is 40x40ft and contains a number of beds, couches, and other furnishings, all of which have seen better days. Plaster has fallen from the ceiling and walls, adding to the refuse and disarray. In the center of the room there is rectangular washbasin with stale water still inside. Across from the window there is a set of double doors leading farther into the temple. The window seems to be wide enough for the party members to crawl through.
Alternatively, there is also the continuation of the balcony to the south, should the barbarian attempt a multi-part leap that would bridge a 25-30ft gap on the balcony. Beyond this leap, Yulamith can see a separate set of double doors leading deeper into the temple.
Hun waits for Mr. Thicc to catch up and then follows the construct up the steps. The other three party members (Kairus, Rhogal, and Krodhen) are in the process of making their way to this side entrance. Kwilgok has started setting up a camp near the statue of Umberlee.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kairus caught up with the rest of the crew and looked inside the room. "No mama lizards anywhere?" He slipped inside after Mr. Thicc and looked around. "Not that spooky so far." Kairus bravely walked to the next set of doors, looked them up and down (Perception: 19) and (if satisfied with the observation) pulled and/or pushed them open.
"I'd have said 'Mn... sure, I guess', if it weren't for that whole Gond commentary earlier."Hun replied in a mildly annoyed tone. Though almost as soon as he spoke the words, the kobold looked a little worried for a second, before pointedly avoiding direct eye contact with the dragonborn in favor of studying the distance. "... Tch. The one time I don't prepare either of those devices." He mumbles to himself, then shook his head.
"Meh. Let's just go through the window 'fore the planks here give out from under us." A look back to Rhogal and Krodhen is swiftly followed with urgings for the two to catch up. Though apart from a glance up at Kairus for confirmation that all was clear in the room, both Kobold and Construct would hardly wait longer still for stragglers before climbing their way into the room. Once inside, Hun sends Mr. Thicc off to stand guard by the door while he took some time to more closely investigate the beds and couches for anything of interest.
Yulmiath shrugs. Rhogal was right, it was too much of a drop to the water below, plus once he threw Hun over there, how was he going to get the rest of the Packer's over there?
Taking a hand axe, Yulmiath strikes the blunt edge against the glass, then sweeps any remaining shards of glass from the window. Ducking inside, Yulmiath extends a hand, welcoming the others inside.
"Cordial greetings from Umberlee to you. Welcome to Sea ***** manor."
After some back and forth with Hun, Yulmiath opens the way for the party to enter the "Sea ***** Manor." He lets Kairus, Hun, and Rhogal enter first, with each of their attention being pulled by the room's different features. Krodhen is the last one to enter, keeping an eye out the window in case anything has followed the group.
@Rhogal: The trough of water is surprisingly clear. The group was initially under the impression the water within would be quite stale but, upon closer examination, it is quite fresh. Perhaps not as fresh as water from a stream, but certainly not decades old. You notice some sort of drain or intake at the bottom of the vat, suggesting the water here is fed from another area. And yes, this is indeed water.
@Hun: Your look around the room serves to confirm what you had already seen from outside the window. The beds, couches, and other furnishings, all sport an unhealthy layer of dust, suggesting they haven't been touched in years, if not decades. The walls and ceiling have lost most of the plaster that once covered them. Overall, your search of the room yields nothing of interest or value.
@Kairus: Your examination of the double doors yield no cause for concern. Nonetheless, you wait until Mr. Thicc has reached your side to push them open. What you see beyond the doors is a large chamber. You are currently exiting one of the rooms in the northwestern portion of a raised gallery of sorts. A rusty iron chandelier hangs by a chain above a once-grand dining table situated in the middle of a large room in the center area, which is a few feet below the raised gallery you now stand on. Light dapples the table through holes in the roof, and a few harmless tropical birds flap about. The tiled floor is littered with broken dishes, bird droppings, and other detritus. A wide staircase to the south climbs five feet to the raised gallery that surrounds the room. Old, framed pictures of sailing ships hang on the gallery walls. In addition to the doors you just opened (northwest of this large chamber), there are two more closed sets of doors (southwest and northeast). You presume they lead from this upper gallery to other parts of the palace. A fourth doorway in the southeast corner is almost completely blocked by rubble. To the north wall, there is a heavy iron portcullis leading into an antechamber with a torch bracket mounted on its west wall. You deduce you would have arrived through this antechamber should you have forced your way through the doors the mama lizard was inadvertently protecting. Last but not least, there is a winch in the northwest portion of the raised gallery, near the door you just came through.
"I say - great idea," nodded Kairus and returned to the observations. "Hm... I can understand turtles - really do! - but is not it strange no one else claimed that High House? A little fix here and there maybe needed but the thing looks too solid, well-placed, and defendable to stay uninhabited." He walked to the entrance and studied the doors.
