"Taka a look at this" was practically a summoning spell for Kairus. He ran from the stares to take that look. "Nice colours!" He was about to grab the ring when another piece of decapus got in the way. "You know, let's clean up first - for all kinds of safety reasons."
Kairus was never accused of a particular love for safety before but the birds' presence above combined with hissing snakes below was a touch unnerving. Triton's "third hand" methodically picked up every piece of uncarefully sliced monster and threw them in the direction of the stairs to the lower terrace. Should Hun meanwhile decide to examine the new potential relic, Kairus would not interrupt - would even help to fish the thing out of the trash with his magical hand, but his task for a moment was to make the place a little bit safer.
Krodhen is not yet ready to relax his muscles but, even in his defensive position, the paladin gets Rhogal's attention. The source of the shine Yulmiath first spotted turned out to be a ring and Krodhen wants to make sure this fight was not for naught.
Kairus is the first to react to the news of a potential reward for their troubles. Focusing on safety first, Kairus's third hand spends some time chucking tentacle pieces and bits of internal decapus onto the lower levels of this complex tropical garden. The hawks react to it, as do many small critters and even some of the poisonous snakes liberated by Hun.
Above, the calls of the hawks are still audible, the rustle of the palm trees still noticeable, and the sun still unforgiving. Below, near the Snackers' feet, the hissing of the snakes continues, though they seem to have focused less on the party over the last several seconds and more on de-tangling themselves from each other. It is quite the chaotic but slow process.
While the group cleans up, feeds wild animals, and watches the snakes slide against each other, the ring made of lapis lazuli remains partially embedded in the remains of past decapus' meals.
Back to his usual size, Yulmiath took stock of his wounds; have felt worse, but could do with a rest before long, maybe a potion for now. Then takes stock of his surroundings; hmmm shiny things were in the gazebo, right?
While the others take care of their own tasks, a little bit of blood and gore had never made Yulmiath squeamish. Dipping his hands into the goo below the decapus, he pulls out as many shiny things as he can, leaving things that obviously look like bones or dead animals.
Calling to Krodhen and Kairus, he adds "Got that ring you were spying earlier, give it a wash and it's right as rain."
With that, Yulmiath pops it into his mouth, sticks on it for a moment, before spitting the ring back into his open and bloody hand before holding it up for one of the other Packer's to take and inspect.
After seeing Yul's method of "washing," but being too late to warn him, Rhogal shrugs and says, "Lemme know if you start seein' things. Some o' the boys I bin tossing 'round tend to send yer mind to the stars an' back."

With at least one hand stuffed into the satchel of holding, Hun very much had his eyes on the -- at least first -- retreating hawks, and seemed to pay no mind to ongoing conversation or even Mr. Thicc's plight. But fortunately without further input the construct found itself waving goodbye to the snakes as they slithered off after Kairus offer.
"Tch! You live to see another day," Hun eventually mutters as it becomes clear the hawks weren't to be an ongoing issue for the foreseeable future. Turning back once more to the group, Hun looks confused at the general offer, but accepts the ring had no one else had to give it at least a once over for any runes or markings that might indicate some magical properties. He even summons the massaging arm from the satchel to help his focus. If none are obviously present however, he shrugs and hands it back either way.
"Would need another hour to be absolutely certain, but-..."He goes on to share his findings. "In any case, let's, uh... oh wait! The window! Be right back! We can head inside after." Without waiting for agreement from the others, Hun finally commanded Mr. Thicc to follow, if only to have the construct give him a boost so he could take a gander through the window. And if it seemed possible for whatever reason, he'd even climb onto the sill for a better look inside.
In the end, it is Yulmiath himself who finally claims the ring from the pile or refuse. The dragonborn "washes" the trinket and feels the slight tingling sensation in his tongue, which he has by now learned to associate with enchanted items. Sensing the barbarian may yet pay the price for sucking on rotting organic matter, Rhogal offers to come to his aid should it be needed.
The ring finds its way to Hun's hand while the kobold is still being grumpy about the fleeing hawks. After a moment of study, Hun spots runes associated with minor incantations of the illusory and enchantment schools of magic. Any further study will require more time or a more powerful spell.
Changing focus to the nearby window, Hun and Mr. Thicc approach it for a closer inspection. Most of what they see simply confirm earlier findings. They see plastered walls that are peeling, a non-menacing tropical bird flying indoors, and a clay urn that looks similar in shape to the fanged one from before but which is decoratively painted (the mimic wasn't).
The rest of the group continues to take in the tropical garden. The snakes have all dispersed by now, and the surviving hawks have returned to flying circles high above the multi-tiered garden. Nothing out here seems like an obvious threat anymore.
Yulmiath pulls the stopper from his waterskin and takes a pull. Swirling the water around his mouth, he spits, returning the gore from his mouth back to where it came from. Then takes another, swallowing the water this time.
"Tastes like liquorice. Don't know what that means. Now which big brain is going to find out what this does for sure?"
After some grumbling Hun hops down from Mr. Thicc's shoulders and rejoins the group. "Rooms empty. Or at least -LOOKS- empty anyhow. Apart from a vase -- no, sorry, Urn that's a bit mroe painted up from the last one. I'd say we still check it out all the same, and maybe-..."He grimaces and glances down to his injuries, and then looks over to Yulmiath. "-take a bit to patch some of us up. At least, Mr. Yully and I could use it. Though, if the rest of you are confident about taking point in explorations for a bit, then I s'pose we can carry on after we're done."Hun suggests to the others, as well as further clarify anything as needed.
If then all are relatively in agreement, Hun once more crawls onto Mr. Thicc's back and orders him to fall in line after the others.

"All for you to get some rest!" Kairus himself was fine if quite drained of his magical abilities but understood the necessity of the rest for the wounded. "I'll even play to you to soothe the pain. Maybe we can return to the room with the chair? We are done here anyway and it's getting hotter to my taste too, can use some weather correction."
Even if fresh as a flower and full of energy, the triton kept his word and wherever the group decided to take the rest he sat with others playing his calming melody (1 to those spending HD)
Yulmiath may be playing it off as it was nothing, but the dragonborn was secretly quite close to adding his own bile to the wet spot he spit out after washing his mouth with water. Despite the barbarian's insistence, it looks like any further examination of the lapis lazuli ring will have to wait.
Hun, who mentioned he'd need an hour at least to look at the ring, decides to focus instead on the next room the group is likely to explore. He reports its more mundane characteristics and suggests the party take a rest soon, or not. Kairus likes the idea and seemingly insists the group starts resting right away. He leads the group back to the room with the climate-adjusting throne and begins playing a restful song in his cittern even before all Snackers have secured a corner for themselves.
-> Before the Short Rest can be completed, let's go ahead and roll for a chance of a random encounter. I'll ask for a volunteer to throw a d20 and a d100on the board please.
While Rhogal, Hun, and Yulmiath take a moment to mend their wounds, Kairus plays his soothing song from his sitting position at the magical throne. Lacking a need to tend to any wounds, Krodhen keeps an eye out on behalf of the group. The sounds of crashing waves, cawing birds, and rustling leaves add a unique feel to the bard's song, and seem to be enough to keep any would-be interloper at bay.
Hun had mentioned he'd dedicate some time to looking over the ring, and so he does. He finds it to contain a slight dream enchantment, which works by projecting a specific lucid dream on its wearer when they fall asleep. There is no knowing what this dream's message may be, unless the trinket is tried out.
SHORT REST (including Song of Rest)

Yulmiath recovers 22 HP.

Kairus checked the appearance of others (returned colours, closing wounds - some obvious symptoms), played out a couple more harmonical accords (just to be sure) and muffled the strings, satisfied.
It was not too hot inside the Temple (probably courtesy to open areas and running water everywhere) so, when he sat again into the transforming chair, he did not bother with the weather. He drummed on the chair's armrest, considering the bird's transformation again. "You know, I am still curious about that cave system. Mind if I fly around to check it out?" It was more of a rhetorical question - Hun (surprisingly reasonably) even wanted him and Krodhen to scout, so, Kairus with a clear excitement changed again into the seagull. Flying was fun by itself! And with the reason to use it - double so!
The idea was to check out the caves left and right of the bridge. Just a fly-through, to see what's in there.
Sat in a comfortable corner, Yulmiath watches Kairus transform into a seagull and fly out the window. Knowing there's nothing he could say to stop the Triton, he waves and adds, "Have a good time!"
Indeed, Hun had been quite reasonable. So reasonable, in fact, that he hadn't bother to say anything at all, and one should pay no mind to the tired sigh that seemed to follow the question. Once he clearly heard the flapping of wings denoting Kairus departure, the kobold did eventually look over to stare at the chair and said while Kairus was out of earshot, "I don't suppose you're packing a ton of smoke powder on you, Mr. Yully?"
If humored, Hun grins a little. But even if not, joints pop noisely as the aged Kobold got up and made his way over to Yulmiath to offer the ring and detail its contents. "If I had to wager to guess, either it's previous owner left something behind, or our 'favorite' Goddess imparted a message to help 'guide' her followers. Either way, it might help with figuring out aspects of this place we find ourselves stumped with or leave a bad taste in your mouth. But no matter... don't let young blue volunteer to have a go at it tonight. Boy's a bit too smitten with....... well, he's just a little too liable to get in over his head."
