Caine keeps candles lit all night to keep the shadows at bay in the corners of his room. Even then, every flicker of the flame that makes the shadows move still makes him uneasy. But in the end he does sleep straight through the night.
Come morning, he heads down to the main room in search of breakfast and the others.
Caine will suggest exploring the village today. There were a few larger buildings that didn't look completely abandoned (E3, E4, and E5). They weren't going to be getting on the road to Vallaki and the Madame Eva pitstop until tomorrow so they should check out what's in the village today.
Sitting alone in his room, Razi lights a candle and reflects on the events of this bizarre day. A haunted house, ghost children, a cursed land, a vampire prince, townsfolk without souls... and his own expanding access to eldritch power. Not for the first time, he wonders if this isn't all some mad fever dream... that he isn't lying on a cot in some battlefield hospital tent raving about ghosts and monsters.
To push those thoughts away, he pulls out the ritual spell book that... appeared?... in his possessions today. By the meager light of his candle he traces out the gestures, symbols, and glyphs necessary to cast his new spells.
Eventually, exhaustion overtakes him and he snuffs out the candle and collapses into a deep sleep.
In the morning he heads downstairs, his hair wild and unkempt from tossing and turning in his sleep. He agrees with Caine's plan to explore the town. "We should also see if there are any wise men or women we can consult about the dangers of this land. Vampires, ghosts, werewolves... we've all heard tales of these things but I'm not sure any of us know much about how to truly fight them."

Caine pokes around at what he expects will be a pretty bland breakfast and smiles at Razi's hair.
"Going for the mad monk look?" Caine asks then adds. "I thought I could see a church spire out my window this morning. Not too far from here towards the northwest. Not saying they'll be wise but a priest is bound to have heard a few things. We could start there."
Razi nods at the 'mad monk' comment, maintaining eye contact but looking like he might not understand what Caine means. He does agree, "Yes. Even if the priests cannot aid us, it would be interesting to get the perspective of the gods' representatives in this cursed place."

Sitting alone in his room, Jim contemplates the possibilities of his recent ability to cast spells. He sat there in the dark trying to remember which spells he had studied. He had already managed to cast prestidigitation and mage hand.
However, there was another that he could recall having studied, minor illusion. He remembered that the spell could be used to create a sound or an image. The he recalled that he could create the sound that could range from as quiet as a whisper or as loud as a scream. Yet, the sound could be so many things, his own voice or someone else's, a lion's roar, or even a beating of drums. Whereas the image could be of an object such as a chair, muddy footprints or a small chest.
Jim thought for a moment, considering his choices. Then he remembered that there was requirement for a bit of fleece in order to cast the spell. Something he did not have on him currently. He frowned at the thought of needing something that seemed so mundane for casting a spell, he didn't quite know it would be needed. Still he thought it would be best to get the material component before trying such a spell.
So instead, he sat on his cot singing to himself until he tired enough to go to sleep.
"Bah! We don't need gods," Jim says as he joins the others. "Although, what I do need is a bit of fleece."

Jim tuts at the sight of the church, "I think this place has seen better days. These claw marks look interesting. I wonder what could have caused them?"
Jim begins to look around the outside of the church looking for any signs of what could lie in what for them inside. They had already entered one building that caused them hassle since first entering this godforsaken town. He wasn't too keen on the idea of entering another such building so soon

Razi joins the others at the door, running his fingers along the deep claw marks in the wood. "Darkness is ever spiteful of the light..."he whispers. He wonders what terrors and strife a church must have endured, trying to maintain hope and truth in the shadow of despotic undeath.

If everyone is ready, Caine would head out to the street and towards where he’d seen the steeple and make his way to the church.

Caine looks at the doors and the claw marks and raises his eyebrows.
”Werewolves? They’ve got big claws, right? And from what we heard last night, they’re maybe not as rare around here as we’d like.”
While Jim investigates further, Caine eyes the locks and strength of the door, impressed that this old run down dump manages to keep something out.
He reaches out and knocks on the doors.
”Hullo in the church.”
"I will investigate the claw marks also."

Was there any answer from Caine’s knock on the door and call inside?
"These appear to be wolf claw marks, big ones. Never seen one attack a door like this though, not natural, someone drove them to it."
Nelyna searches for a window or some sort of opening that might allow her to view the inside of the church.
