"Dyumi, these are the ones I have so far. Can you check them to see if you think they're okay?" Malichi asks. Again he looks in wonder as he pulls the 4 giant acorns out of the bag.

Dyumi will begin the 10 minute ritual cast of Detect Poison And Disease, hoping to determine of the acorns are as pure as can be.

While Cerlinde and Zensiro are pondering whether to pursue the pendant,  a second canary suddenly swoops in and lands beside the nest, chirping angrily.  The elves are dumbfounded to see Amelia slip off the bird's back where she had been clinging to a rope looped around its neck, and sprint towards them.

Yup, Zensiro is definitely dumbfounded.  He just taps Cerlinde on the shoulder and points down the branch at a rapidly approaching Amelia, mouth agape.

"Alright, what've I missed?" Amelia speaks nonchalantly as she returns, like she didn't just hop off a bird.

“Wow-  where did you learn how to do that?!” Cerlinde says.   “We see a pendant in the nest here and we were deciding if it was safe to try to go to the nest- if you have a means of communication with the birds perhaps they would help us?”

"Uhh, well, we're in a tree, just like you.  But we ascended in the AGGE, not on the back of a bird!  Just now, we were looking for acorns for Malichi, which I think is going quite well.  And we did help Zithers locate a hidden item on the lake bed, so that was exciting ... So, about that flying on canary-back ... what was it like?  Was it incredible?  I can only imagine the rush!  How did that come to pass?"  Zensiro can hardly contain his excitement at the sight of one of his companions flying through the air.

Amelia turns to Cerlinde and shifts into Elvish. "I speak several languages, but Bird is none of them. I snuck onto it. Kinda my specialty, in case you didn't notice."

She just shrugs at Zensiro. "Wasn't that great, really. Being able to fly would probably be cool and all, but flying on the back of a bird who doesn't really want you on their back is mostly just tense."

The more recently-arrived canary seem prepared to hop over and rid his tree of these annoying interlopers, but the other bird chatters at him in what sounds like a scolding tone, and he glumly turns around and heads back to the nest.  The original nest-warmer  notes the rope around her mate's neck, and uses her beak to pull it off, and weave it into the nest as well.  She then cocks her head to the side to look quizzically at Zensiro, Cerlinde and Amelia.

"My word. That was very bold, then!  I'm glad you were able to make it safely up here after that adventure!  I guess sneaking up to the nest is out of the question at this point, though.  I'm afraid I can't speak with animals.  Is Dyumi around?  Maybe he could intervene with these birds to see if we could examine that item in the nest.  Otherwise, I don't imagine the two of them will vacate long enough for us to check it out unharrassed."

OK, moving the story along.  Malichi wanders over and tells Cerlinde and Zensiro about a sparkly dangly object in the rowan tree a short distance away.  He will stay here with Dyumi if the rest of you want to take AGGE to the other tree.  He is secretly hoping the druid can convince one of the flying squirrels to give them an aerial lift to meet up with you later.  Amelia can stay or go as she pleases.  Zithers is adrift in limbo.

"The rowan tree, you say?  Thanks for the tip, Malichi, that certainly is a promising lead.  Cerlinde, shall we start heading that way?  After seeing the successes of our companions, I'm even more eager to help this beautiful creature make its way home to the Feywild!"

“Yes-  let’s go” Cerlinde says.  

"Okay then, I think our first decision is who is going to attempt to drive this contraption.  Malichi seems to have gotten the hang of it, so I imagine we can figure it out as well.  If it's all right with you, Cerlinde, maybe I'll take a shot at it?"  Zensiro enters the AGGE, settles himself into the driver's seat, buckles up, checks the rear- and side-view mirrors, makes some adjustments, then looks carefully over the control panel.  "Hmm, so it appears to be in tree mode, that's good.  Let's see, this probably is forward and backward, maybe this lever is to turn.  Not sure about this button over here.  Then there are these switches up there, unclear what purpose they serve.  And we're awfully high up, best to be certain.  Oh my ..."  Zensiro sighs, unbuckles, steps out of the AGGE, and calls over to Malichi.  "Hello there, Malichi, my friend.  Do you think before you go soaring with those squirrels you could give me a quick tutorial on how to operate the AGGE?  Please?"

Dyumi approaches the nest to scout out the item. He thinks the birds shouldn't be hostile, but they might be overprotective of their nest, so he uses the Ready action to prepare  Animal Friendship if things go awry.

(No worries, sorry to hear you were ill and I hope you're doing better now!  We'll see what Cerlinde and/or Malichi respond with, or if DM just wants to move it along and assume that Malichi describes AGGE operation in adequate detail for Zensiro to be able to make it to the rowan tree without a TPK on the occupants ;-)

Malichi is ready to drive Aggie. "Did we find enough acceptable acorns?" he asks.

Malichi has four acorns in his bag of holding, lacking 3 from his original task.   The elves were getting ready to move on to their quest in the rowan tree while you finished up here, I think.

Malichi thinks to himself then "Be right back!" he tells everyone. He is nearly at a run down the sough branch till he spots the first two he comes to
