The sword passes right through Neral't, who snaps a quick fist to chest salute as he's dissolving and drifting apart.

Garrin taps his staff and fires another column of butterflies at the bugbear king.

Attack: 9 Damage: 11

The king ignores Garrin's ineffective spell attack, continuing to attack Droknin and commanding his pet wolf to do the same.

Bite Attack: Attack: 6 Piercing Damage: 6  If the attack hits, Droknin must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

"Yes!  Bite him!  Rip him!  Tear him!" cries King Grol, lost in a bloodlust.

Morningstar Attack: 20 Damage: 18

T'laren pulls free his other scimitar and slashes at the guard in the hallway with both of them.

Droknin lashes his tail, but the wolf is quicker this time and is able to sink its teeth into the Leonin.

Strength Save (Adv): 20

He is able to avoid being dragged to the floor. "Well, you asked for it." He shakes off the wolf and attacks it.

Talon Attack: 10 Damage: 13

T'laren connect with both of his blades, badly wounding the hobgoblin.  

Uttering a prayer for forgiveness, Keashirryl raises her mace again to try and finish him off... Attack: 5 Damage: 3

Droknin badly wounds the wolf, drawing a snarl from the animal and from its bugbear master.

Keashirryl misses the hobgoblin, who retaliates with his longsword against her... Attack: 10 Damage: 7

Garrin, meanwhile, grumbles in annoyance and tamps his staff again, firing another eldritch blast at King Grol...  Attack: 12 Damage: 12

Perhaps tired already from the battle, none of the parties are able to land their attacks.  

Seeing his wolf has drawn blood from the leonin barbarian, the bugbear king grins.  "Let's finish him, Snarl!"

Bite Attack: Attack: 17 Damage: 5  If the attack hits, Droknin must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Morningstar Attack: 11 Damage: 17

T'laren looks to finish the guard and be able to turn his attentions to the wolf.

Attack: 16 Damage: 6

Offhand Attack: 9 Damage: 4

Droknin gives a deep sigh. "You should have stayed down." (Droknin attack is non lethal for the wolf)

Talon Attack: 25 Damage: 12

The hobgoblin blocks T'laren's primary weapon with his own sword, but leaves himself exposed to the off-hand weapon, which finds a gap in his armor and ends him.

Droknin cracks the old wolf on top of the head with Talon's pommel, the beast collapsing, unconscious but alive.

The old bugbear snarls at Droknin... "You'll pay for that!"

Just then, Keashirryl steps forward and points at King Grol's black morningstar.  "Drop," she commands him.

WIS save against DC 12:  14

The king ignores her, his rage focused on Droknin.  "Over here, you big galoop!" Garrin shouts, once again tapping his staff and launching an eldritch blast.  Attack: 19 Damage: 12

The king, alone and isolated, shows no fear or signs of backing down.  Once again he raises his ugly black morningstar and tries to impale Droknin.  

Attack: 20 Damage: 11

"Where are all of my GUARDS!" he howls, loud enough to hurt your ears.

(The King misses Droknin)

T'laren hops on the table and brings the hilts of his scimitars down at the King's head, seeking to knock him out.

Attack: 23 Damage: 7

Off hand Attack: 13 Damage: 2

With a flick of his spiked tail, he swiped the King's black morningstar to the side. "It looks like it's just you and me. Your majesty." Says Droknin in a mocking way.

Talon Attack: 8 Damage: 12

"Enough of this!" Keashirryl yells, her voice raising for perhaps the first time (in your company).  She bangs her mace on her shield and a flash of light shoots out toward the King. 

Spell Attack:  12   Radiant Damage:  23

It is a powerful spell, but she gasps as the king bats it away with his dark morningstar.  "Your time will come, tiefling..." King Grol growls.

Garrin sighs, tapping his staff again in a perfunctory manner and once again trying to hit the king with a swarm of buffeting butterflies.

Spell attack:  18  Force Damage: 7

He perks up a little, as this time he hits the old bugbear square in the chest.  The king is finally starting to stagger.

Obviously frustrated with his inability to kill the leonin barbarian, King Grol turns his wrath toward the elf on his table.  "I will kill ALL OF YOU!" he bellows, his hot breath steaming in T'laren's face, and followed almost immediately by the morningstar which he brings down on the elf with all of his might.

Attack: 9 Damage: 7

T'laren is in an awkward position to try to avoid the blow, standing on the table as he is, and the king's blow sends him crashing to the table, scimitars falling loose from his hands.

King Grol smiles cruelly.  "Good.  No one wants you alive, elf."  Seemingly reinvigorated, he turns his attention back to Droknin.  "Now... where were we?"

Keashirryl's dismay at her spell having missed turns to a look of shock as T'laren falls before King Grol's mighty blow.  She moves forward, grabs T'laren's limp form, and drags him off the table and 5' back.  Then she kneels and offers a prayer over his heart, casting cure wounds and restoring 9 hp and raising him back to consciousness.

T'laren awakens, prone and disarmed.

T'laren gasps and grabs the hand resting against him, his face relaxing when he looks up to his cleric companion. He whispers his thanks as his eyes shift to the battle still going on beyond the table.
