As Laala gets close, the wind swirls and snuffs her torch. Once she has it blocked, she's able to light it again. Her backside gets chilly, but she gets the sconce lit and the statues move closer, swords raised.

"Uh guys, are we doing the right thing? I'm a little concerned..." Ursula pulls out her yklwa in anticipation of what will happen when they get the fourth one lit..
Xal goes really long dog and manages to reach up the 9ft or so to block the hole, and Nimble uses his mage hand to get flame over to it, the sconce lighting.
As the final sconce lights up the room, the statues take their final step, while each step leading up to this has been clunky and slow, now they move with the grace and elegance of an Elven warrior, becoming much less statue-like, and more life-like, just really big for elves. The Holy Knight spins her now fully metal sword, and in a seemingly effortless movement, swings it down towards her opponent. The Silent Knight parries the attack with his own dark blade as he disappears into a swirl of shadow, reappearing behind the Holy Knight. Stabbing out, the Silent Knight catches his enemy unprepared. The Holy Knight spins and her sword glows a radiant white light as she clasps the Silent Knight's blade with a golden gauntleted hand.
Lunging forward, the Holy Knight manages to cut into the Silent Knight's armor just as he fades into the shadow and reappears behind the Holy Knight once again. But this time she is prepared, and readies herself, the Silent Knight covered in the shining radiant light of her sword. As the Silent Knight brings his sword down the Holy Knight counters, their swords held aloft. The statues hold their position as the light fades, and they revert to statues in that position.
Spiraling as it somehow unwraps and drifts to the ground is a shimmering silvery gold ribbon that was wrapped around the grip of the Holy Knight's sword. There's a soft tink-tink as a dark stone that was affixed to the pommel of the Silent Knight's sword similarly falls off and lands on the floor.
The wind howling through the holes has ceased, and removing your blockages does not snuff the sconces. There is a pathway through the void to return you to the tower.

((The basic scene was contained in the module, I just edited and punched it up a bit! The items were supposed to be the swords, but those of you likely to use them already have weapons you're attached to, so I tweaked it.))
As Ursula picks up the stone, the magic of the item immediately tells her what it is and how it functions.
Stone of Serenity
This dark stone can be affixed to a weapon as an action, imbuing the weapon with magical properties. Once affixed, the stone cannot be removed, though casting dispel magic on the weapon will cause it to detach.
The weapon gains a +1 bonus to all attack and damage rolls, and also holds three charges that it regains daily at midnight. When you hit a creature with the imbued weapon, once per round you can use a charge to cast misty step on yourself.

Xal pads over to the silvery gold ribbon, gives it a sniff and then leaves it and lopes back through the pathway to the tower. He keeps alert for any sounds or smells that would indicate danger.
Remembering the words of the elf from the floor below, Nimble moves forward and investigates the gold ribbon after Xal leaves, picking it up in hopes it provides some benefit in the fight ahead.
It smells like sunshine to Xal's nose, and he sees no foes as he returns to the tower.
Nimble picks up the ribbon, and similar to Ursula, immediately knows how it functions.
Wrap of Radiance
This gleaming ribbon can be affixed to a weapon as an action, imbuing the weapon with magical properties. Once affixed, the wrap cannot be removed, though casting dispel magic on the weapon will cause it to detach.
The weapon gains a +1 bonus to all attack and damage rolls, and also holds three charges that it regains daily at noon. When you hit a creature with the imbued weapon, once per round you can use a charge to deal an additional 1d8 radiant damage, and the target is surrounded by holy light, giving the next attack advantage.

Laala still standing up by the sconce just has her mouth hanging open. When she finally closes it "Was that all supposed to happen, what if the dark one had stabbed the light one, would we have had to fight it?" She walks back down the wall and onto the floor like it was all the same thing and rejoins the group looking at the times the sautés dropped.
Nimble moves out the pathway back to the main tower. He shares what he knows of the wrap of radiance, which strangely just appeared in his head, and offers it to Ursula or Elafir "Perhaps this will be of better use to one of you. I prefer to fight in other ways and besides, I have my icicle rapier."
"Thanks Nimble, but I have the stone which will be very beneficial for me. Hopefully Elafir will be able to make sure of the wrap." and with that Ursula follows Xal up the stairs
Xal misjudges a wall as he looks back to check on the others and runs into it as he turns around. He gives a startled yelp, but didn't he it hard enough to injure more than his pride. He scoots to the tower, and the rest follow, emerging on the floor with all of the woodland murals.
You move on up to the fourth floor, ahead you see an eerily empty and dark floor. What was once most likely the royal chambers lie ahead behind a grand yet decrepit set of double doors on the far right of the central room. Now the floor lies abandoned and silent. The only light comes from the moonlight shining through the glass exterior of the tower. The final set of stairs lie ahead, on the other side of the central chamber.

The once beautiful home these chambers once were is now all but ransacked and destroyed. Unlike the homes on the lower level of the tower, these chambers are much larger, with six rooms in total, and take up approximately half of this floor.
Even with a thorough sniffing, they smell of disuse and abandonment, Xal picking up the scent of birds that may have been nesting in here. But it even lacks the scent of rodents, this far up and with out residence to provide food to steal.

NImble keeps the wrap of radiance for now, but will wait to see if Elafir can make use of it before he makes a decision to attach it to his weapon. Looking at the ransacked rooms on this floor, obviously made for individuals more important than the floors below, he sends his weasel, Comet, bounding between the rooms, looking for anything shiny and potentially valuable or anything that may look like a weapon.

(That was really cool and beautifully written). Ursula stands in awe for a moment, then steps forward and picks up the stone.
