If Tanis is awakened with the discovery of Topsy and Turvy's disappearance:
"They were speaking of striking out on their own. How they feel they don't belong with us, especially those of us larger than them. I don't think they mean us harm. If anything, I think they were worried about slowing us down. As long as we are fairly sure nothing took them by force or guile, I think we should let them go."
(He watches to see if Jimjar, the other deep gnome, has any contrary opinions or reaction).
Separately: Tanis still has 18 Goodberries after eating one and giving one to Petmailer. He lets everyone else know. Any other PC or NPC that wants one can have one, even Buppido or Sarith.
Vrah looks at Kisiki and thinks a moment before answering, "Not sure what to think yet. Just because we have left our cage does not mean we are free yet. We probably see those drow again and they will not be happy with us and will show no mercy." Then turns to Tanis and takes a good berry nodding his thanks and continues, "So far nothing has really changed besides eating better. We are still encased in stone and still within the territory of the drow. We will see what happens to Vrah as the days continue."
[OOC: Again sorry for not posting as much, 1.5 more weeks and I will be working from home again and have more time to post. At the moment, juggling a 40 hour work week as well as workon the side is taking its toll.]
"Let's be sure they left on their own; I would hate to leave someone to some other fate than that..." Vethna says, looking around for tracks. She would ask Eldath, or someone else, to aid her in checking for tracks and signs of the missing two.
Those of you investigating or looking for tracks notice multiple tracks that appear to be from a large rodent. Strangely, they only appear to be moving away from where the party was camped. You don't see any signs of a struggle. All of Topsy and Turvy's belongings (which really wasn't much) are still here, including their clothing.
Kisiki probably sleeps thought this revelation as it's fresh, but if he's awoken he'll shine his light onto the roof of the cave to see if there are signs of the giant rodent being able to climb on the walls of ceiling.
You don't see any indication of tracks on the walls or ceiling. You only see them in the silty dirt on the floor of the cavern, headed away from your campsite.
"Let's follow these tracks," Phodoxia says. "Morning might be too late!" Although she was getting tired at the end of her watch, she is fully awake now, hopping from one foot to the other in agitation.
Kisiki traces the shape of his scales with a sharp claw, the same way a fleshier creature might scratch their chin in contemplation. "I understand logic does not always guide those who are not the Children of Semuanya. I must get used to this." He looks to Phodoxia. "Your thought does not make sense; rodents do not hoard live food. If a rodent took them, then they are dead." He looks to the rest of the group and asks, "Do you all feel emotion right now? I do not understand, but I will remain with the group. We still have need of each other."
Tanis tries to pay attention to a few things: - What is Jimjar's reaction to the disappearance of the other 2 deep gnomes. Does he seem surprised? Wondering if the other deep gnomes confided in him. - Confirm with Vethna who had checked the tracks carefully that there are no inbound rodent tracks and no outbound deep gnome tracks. Only outbound rodent tracks. - Do the rodents that left the tracks look big enough to carry off the deep gnomes without dragging them along the ground? - Try to figure out if deep gnomes can turn into rodents in a pinch.
Based on what Topsy and Turvy were saying earlier, they clearly seemed to be planning to leave. Seems like too big a coincidence. Tanis repeats this to the group.
"Do we need to waste our time on them? They wanted to be on their own, and now they are, for better or worse. Party is smaller so now we will not attract as much attention and can move with more stealth down here. My opinion we should just move on and be done with them, as a matter of fact anyone else that wants to leave, should leave now." As Vrah finishes his speech he looks at Buppido.
Shoowaa is a bit grumpy and sleepy. “Why leave thier clothes if they were taken…I don’t recall them sleeping buck naked. Hey hey I had a wild idea, what if they are part rat?”
Phodoxia stops jumping, looking nearly as revolted by the idea of the gnomes being giant rats as she is by goblins having tails. She looks back at Topsy and Turvy's things, and at the tracks. "You know, you're both right,"she says. "Their clothes are still here. If they really are rats, they probably went off hunting. If they're not dead, they'll come back for their things. Whoever is staying up to watch next can watch to make sure they come back!" With that she tosses herself onto her bedroll, preparing to forget about the matter.
Petmailer says “As you said, they really didn’t want to be here with us, they wanted to strike off on their own. Perhaps they had the power to transform into a rat? I’m surprised that they didn’t use that before to try to escape. Anyway, best of luck to them. Goodnight all.” Petmailer goes into a deep trance, meditation with his legs crossed criss cross apple sauce.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Going by the signs, there was no struggle, and, if they did truly wish to be gone, then there is no reason to follow them." Vethna says with a shrug. "Lets all get back to sleep and we can see what, if anything, changes come morning."
No other issues arise during the night and you are able to complete a rest. This is the second day since your escape. When you pack things up to set off again, do you take Topsy and Turvy's belongings and clothes or do you leave them behind?
As the next day begins, you quickly pass out of the area where the phosphorescent moss and lichen were growing into passages that are more barren. There is no ambient light here at all. Are you using a light source as you move forward?
Whoever is taking the lead can give me a survival check with advantage (due to Sarith's help navigating) to see if you make progress on your journey.
Tanis will take Topsy and Turvy's belongings and clothes, unless someone stops him. Partly because he doesn't think they are coming back, but mainly because he wants to remove all evidence of the party's passage from pursuers.
Tanis continues to rear scout to remove or obscure evidence of the trail and to sense for pursuit. His vote is for a normal pace again (neither fast, nor slow). He is in favor of Kisiki continuing to use Light in the middle of the marching order but dark at front and back unless needed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Best take that stuff." Vethna says, she believes that there is no reason to waste it by leaving it and the group of them will need most anything they can get their hands on if they are to survive this. She then moves back out front to start scouting the way ahead.
Phodoxia gets very agitated when Tanis starts to pick up Topsy and Turvy's things. "If they want to be on their own, why would you take their things with us? That forces them to come after us again, if they want them back. Leave them here!"
Kisiki attempts to find a compromise, "Scatter their belongings down an offshoot tunnel, beginning with the entrance to the tunnel. If they come back first, then they will find it. If the Drow reach it first, then they will follow the wrong trail."
