"Thators. Strange name," Chuba says. As Orin works to fix up Hobble, Chuba pets and otherwise bonds with that horse. She rides him a bit around the area to get a feel for him. "You'll do well, Thators. We ride to glory together."
When the rest of her party is ready and the supplies are loaded to one or the other mount, Chuba follows on her new mount.
Hobble's head bobbed up and down as Jek spoke to him.
"He was left behind by a rider from the north. I really don't know how he even got the Hobble back, really. The rider seemed to be pretty upset about the injuries to the horse. Said he couldn't take him on, but didn't have the heart to put him down. I don't know. But wow! I never thought I'd see him on four legs again!"
Hobble looks ready to go. His new leg is probably the best part of him now.
Old Ironsides doesn't seem to be perturbed by Kerwyn's existence anymore. It calms down, retracts its flails, and becomes placid.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brevon, gathered by his companions in the shade cast by the Ivory Tower, takes stock of their supplies. "Three healing potions, one hundred gold coins, rations for two weeks. Let us see--jerky, hard tack, dried nuts, dried fruit. Tents, hatchet, hunting knives, fletcher tools..." As he counts he places the items neatly into the back of their wagon, crawling up into its bed to scoot things around to make the most room, in case anyone should need room to lie down. He walks around, inspecting the wheels and their spokes and hubs. His work is redundant, because Orin has already been over the wagon thoroughly, but it is an old habit. Finally, he makes his way to the work horses at the front, adjusting their harnesses, and offering them snacks and a bucket of water. He pats their muzzles and talks gently into their ears.
At length he hauls himself up, the weight of his armor and shield making this no easy task, and settles in to one side of the bench seat.
"On to the Shem Desert! Shall we follow the great river north?"He looks to Chuba and Atoh in particular, those more experienced in the ways of the wild. (Based purely on the map art, that river looks to be the widest in the world!)
Jek enjoys riding on the large horse. As he pats it's side, he says to it "I will probably need to give you a new name. You don't hobble anymore with that metal leg. How about Metal Leg....No, that's too on the nose... Let's think it over, okay buddy!"
As they start on there way back to Jek's home, he is a little disappointed. He wasn't expecting to go home so soon, but I guess that's what adventuring is all about, going to new places....Oh wait, there is that place, he's always avoided it because it was so dangerous. But that places is new, and his new friends seem strong!
He rides up to the side of the wagon and says to Brevon "Hey Brevon! So, there is a place along the way. I don't know if we should stop or not. It's kinda mysterious and dangerous, but there is a power about the place, well I actually think people call it The Power, but that seems pretty presumptuous. Anyways, there is power and secrets there. It could help us on are quest! It might delay us a few days from getting to the Tower of the Elephant, though. I don't know, I figured I'd bring it up."
Brevon waves at Jek. In response to the question, he scratches his beard. "Grayskull Castle. Yes, I've heard of it. Mysterious. Dangerous. I do not know the forces therein, much less where they have thrown in for this battle. Do you think we may find things there to help us on our quest to find the Triforce?"

" Tola said ,How about Iron Hoove? It's more intimidating and cool. " Atoh pointsher small dragon who's jumping and hopping at her side. " I think it's a good name too. "
@Brevon
"Follow the great river and head north. There is a secret passway which we use for traveling our Green Sheeps. And yes…" The Halfling girl turns her face to Jek. " The Castle Grayskull is on our way. I don't know if we should visit there. The castle is ominous and mysterious. Our clan avoid the place as much as possible. There was nothing bad happen to my people when we passed there. But we have traveled in horde and Dragon Riders were on our side. The other way… " Atohpoints the west side of the map. " …Is passing the grassland near the Nockmaar keep. It will be quite a long way around. Hard to find water or place to rest. Also Queen Bavmorda never loves people travel freely on her territory. We had a lot of conflict before."
Brevon nods. "Thank you, Atoh. Either direction places us within the territories of either Castle Grayskull or Nockmaar Keep. Both are something of a mystery. It may be that we can persuade the forces therein to join our cause even as we search for the Triforce. Let us then pay a visit to this Grayskull Castle."
Jek nods to everyone's response, then shouts "Onwards Iron-Hoove! To Grayskull!" and starts to gallop off. After 100 yards or so, he stops and heads back to the group. "So... I don't actually know which way to go, someone else should probably be in front."
The hills roll down from the Dragontail Mountains, the fields of Fantasia blemished here and there with trees and scrubs and living things. There are rock formations along the base of the mountains in places that are like enormous, busted open geodes. At one point, a fairy darted across the road and disappeared into the low lying vegetation.
The journey was quiet, once it began. The stables disappeared quickly as they set off, but the Ivory Tower stayed within view for a long, long time, it's heights a beacon of where they started.
It was easy for Brevon to identify the path heading north east, toward the Fantasia River. It was well worn by many years of travel and was relatively smooth passing. Someone was keeping the roads up very well. There were occasional settlements and houses along the way.
(OOC: You guys can travel as far as you want for a little bit, making sure you account for time. So, if you take two days to travel, for example, just notate it when you post. Make sure the band is agreed on time spent traveling. Don't forget to track any sort of self improvement activity your character took along the way. I'll be posting a map for this region tomorrow.)
At first Atoh was working enthusiastically as the party's scout girl. She walked at the front and kept her eyes for hidden threats. But the roads were safe and the journey was smooth. Eventually Atoh found she had a lot of freetime. So the Halfling girl decided to use them to improve herself.
Every time the band stopped to take a rear and meals, Atoh went to hunt to practice her bowmanship and provide fresh meat to the table. And when the dinner was finished, she dedicated herself to another training method called " Fox Chasing". Asit's name indicated, this method usually required live foxes. But since she can't always prepare living foxes, Atoh had to compromise with other animal…
" Don't shoot me! Oh please don't shoot me! " Tola the little dragon is running and screaming. He drags a ball target which is made from straws and animal furs. " Don't cry like a baby! Arrows won't hit you, unless you suddenly stop!" Atoh chases her dragon and shoots the target from the back of her mastiff. The two friends repeat this until both are exhausted. Laying on the ground, Tola laughs aloud and says. "Hey, the training isn't a waste of time! Look at my muscle! I am a macho dragon now!"" Oh really? I thought you got little pimples on your arm." Atoh smiles and pokes the little biceps on her friend's arm.

Chuba rides Thators to and along the river leading north to the Dragontail Mountains. She is reserved and only speaks when spoken to, but she keeps a watchful eye for distant or approaching dangers. She often rides near or behind Atoh.
During downtime, Chuba performs ritualistic stretching and forms meant to improve her toughness. She charges into a tree or boulder, trying to improve her ability to resist damage. Her arms and shoulders are often bruised, but heal quickly. In other moments of quiet, she pulls out a stone shard from her pack, holds it tightly in one hand, and appears to meditate. More than once, an observant band member might see Chuba place the stone on her shoulder or chest and look at it almost quizzically, as though trying to make up her mind about something.
"It wasn't until the thirtieth day that the chamber door was opened and Inefune released from her dark prison. In all that time she had consumed neither food nor water, incensed in her belief that the Lady of Light would sustain her. Indeed, all thought that she had perished from thirst. But as the door slid open, the brightest sunlight shone out, blinding her captors. Radiant and full of life, Inefune emerged in perfect health. With a word, the soldiers fell to their knees, and she walked away, unharmed."
Brevon regales the group with a story of the faithful of the Lady of Light as they travel the dirt road northeast. "And so it was that in the darkest of places, Inefune's own will shone bright. Do you see? It was not the power of the Lady that saved her, it was her own will to live."
Brevon drinks from his waterskin, splashing a bit on his hand to clean the dust from his face.
At supper, Brevon tends the fire, often staring into the flames with intense concentration.
On his way to the Ivory Tower Orin was able to save a hatchling Bronze dragon from a group of raiders. The mother thanked him and gifted him a book on building a dragon shaped Steel Defender and a small dragon-based artifact. He used the book to make Dirk and has been studding the artifact. He feels it is special in some way and the pictographs around it show a dragon with wings unfurled defending others. He shows it to the rest of the band for their insights. (plan is Feat - Gift of the Metallic Dragon)
As they ride along, Jek sees the other trying to improve themselves, and thinks he should too. Hmm, not much in the way of learning something new here, so Jek will improve on things he's already good at and things he could get better at.
His brothers always said he was honest to a fault, maybe he should work on that. He will spend some of his time pulling some harmless pranks and trying to cheat at games.
Although, his honesty did make him very persuasive. But could he convince himself to be more persuasive? Jek will give Brevon encouragement and pointers for his sermons. He will let him know that he's doing a great job and getting better every day. He will offer words of encouragement to Orin as well, when ever he looks stuck, making sure he didn't give up.
While he's generally health, he could always be tougher, so maybe he could help with that as well. But how... Then Jek see's Chuba's training. While too rough for him, some thing similar could work. He starts holding his breath for a long time, then tries to run next to Iron Hooves for a bit, and then he will try to eat some weird mushrooms he finds.
(Jek is working on the Skill Expert Feat - Constitution, deception, and persuasion)
The night crawls on, and on, and on...and the longer it goes, seeming to stretch forever into the endless dark, the quieter it gets. Eventually, as the band grows road weary and sleep threatens to overtake them, they hear voices, carried over the night air. A light appears in the distance, maybe a quarter mile away.
Brevon peers through the darkness. "Other travelers? Perhaps they have news of the surrounding territories. If they be thieves, they will have more than they bargained for with this group. What say you?"
