Kerwyn peers and looks for the woman that he saw briefly, she looked vaguely familiar. "Why is she running away from me? I mean, me? How could she not want this hunk of a man?" He sees the alarm in Shavaris voice, goes up to her as she returns. "Hey honey, why are you so worried? Nothing Kerwyn can't take care of. Fine, wherever you're going, I'm coming too. I'm stuck to you like glue babycakes." Kerwyn runs after Shavaris, but unclear why they are running. Certainly, he could handle _any_ sort of danger!

Travin continues lumbering forward at a pace Ol' Ironsides would regard as slow.
as Ralik moves forward, taking a few loose items he sees that Travin is weighed down mostly by a large thick wooden beam, just over 8ft long with square holes cut into each end where joining beams would connect at a cross section This beam is a wooden sill used to joist the ceilings of mines. But it is too heavy for Ralik to take, and so he takes a few of the smaller items, quickly to hand are a 52lb chest and a sledgehammer to which Travin squeals and protests as Ralik moves away "rocks ludo! Yeh yeh! That's a good idea! Wait no! What are you doing to Travin? No no no, don't take the shinies, theif! Ooooh! Theif! Taking Travins things, bad theif, bad birdloving man theif" he swats impotently through the air.
As the threat continues advancing and Travin slightly increases his pace, he is also searching his patchwork robe in preparation.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When they all first entered the only two that hung behind to watch the evil worm was Ward and Johnathan. Riding upon the throne like chair that seems to be attached to Travin's back Delphinium was able to take time and ponder how they can get Shavaris and Kerwyn to fall in love. That is until they entered the catacombs proper and the new environment took the tiny one's attention. The dank and dimmly illuminated halls of the catacombs give the feeling of an entrapped area. Dripping from the ceiling as the storm proves this place isn't well maintained. Cracks along the walls from ages and disrepair as the underground portion of the labyrinth is obviously not used often. The entire thing seems like a place both time and people have forgotten. Delphinium was looking around a bit nervous. They like having room to fly around but down here it doesn't leave much room for the tine one to maneuver. The blue and purple fairy was about to go join Sir Didymus in the front, However, as Delph was just about to do this Shavaris saw someone they knew. Or at least they announced they did. Delphinium didn't see anyone but they believe most things they hear so "Oh! I must of missed them Shavaris. What did they look like? Oh! where did they go? That's quiet the trick. Do you think they turned invisible? I knew some fey that it was like their signature trick to talk with someone then the second someone turns around, POOF!" Johnathan and ward seemed to catch up to the group at this point and seeing no worm following behind Delphinium let out a sigh of relief.
Curious and looking about for the person Shavaris knows Delph begins to look up and down the hallway for signs of invisible movement (Perception 21) but Delph also noticed the shiny thing down the broken and misused hallway that seems to comprise of the catacombs. It is around this time that they all begin to realize that its some kind of death like machine. With razor blades and spikes all over the front! Its filling the entire corridor! "Oh! No! We gotta Run!" Delphinium gets up from the throne on Travin and looks around but seems to notice that Travin is.... very... very very.... very very very very very very slow! There's no way they can outrun it and all the places to go seem to far to reach. Delphinium tries to figure out what to do as they look at the way they came and knows its too far for Travin...also worm... not going that way! There doesn't seem to be a safe haven the other way either though! Ralik beings to say something about how Ludo can move rocks but the fairy isn't sure rock will stop this thing. If anything... it looks like its made to break trough rock and make these tunnels! They are trapped in the cracked up hallway.
It's at the thought of the "cracked" hallway that Delphinium looks around and notices many of the cracks are more like holes or burrows that a mouse or rat could hide in. Probably to avoid just such a contraption from turning them into ground rodent. Good for a rat to hide in. Also good for Delphinium! "Travin! Keep going! Don't worry about me! I got a plan!" The tiny fairy becomes a familiar blur of blue as they dash as fast as they can towards the mechanical horror. Mere feet from the slicing death machine Delph dashes into one of the rat holes and into the wall avoiding the machine and letting it pass Delphinium in their hidden crack in the wall. As they do they look behind them to see if there are any rats or mice currently living in here. If there are they greet them kindly and then prepare to dash out and hopefully break this thing from the other side.
Held Action while in the Rat hole to flying into or attack a weak point on this thing.
Ludo, hearing his name, perks up and gives a guttural groan to the rest of his companions. He steps forward, hands balling into fists, and moans down the chasm in the direction of the incoming mechanical sound which, now that everyone can definitely hear it and knows its bad, is getting closer and closer at an alarming rate.
The tunnel shakes for a second and little cascades of dust and spider webs come down on the Dawn Guard in the moments before stone slabs begin to shift into existence from all directions, forming a barrier directly between the band and the machine...and just after Delphinium passes the point of no return and is sealed behind the wall...
"But Sir Ludo!" Sir Didymus said as he rode forward. "How am I supposed to quell this brute if you've locked it behind the wall! Oh no! Sir Delphinium will be ahead of me! Sir Ludo, I demand you lower this wall at once! This is an outrage! Doest thou not know that my smell is KEEN!?"
Ludo looked down at his little friend and shrugged.
"It's the Cleaners!" Hoggle said as he hobbled back the way they'd come. "We gotta get the hell outta here!"
Johnathan is frozen in shock as the others start running back from a machine. Johnathan gets a look at it and can’t believe what it is. It has hundred of sword spinning in an alarming rate. He starts to run with Shavaris when Delphinium starts flying towards it. Delphinium, what are you doing? But it was too late, a stone wall has been raised and the band have been separated from the fairy. Hoggle. What is going on? What in hell is a cleaner and how does it work? Johnathan seems a bit stressed as he starts asking loads of questions in a fast pace. We can’t leave Delphinium. That thing will kill him. There must be a way. Is it as deadly on the rear? Can it turn in the tunnels? Is there other tunnels we can take. There wasn’t time. Johnathan turns to the wall and begins getting his magical beams ready. It wasn’t long before the wall would be hit next. I’m not leaving a comrade behind. Johnathan mutters under his breath. It is clear he is not comfortable leaving Delphinium to his fate.
Travin watches as Delphinium darts ahead and glimpses the fairy dive into a hole just before his vision of the remainder of the tunnel is obscured by the forming of a wall, Travin turns continuing his retreat.
He lumbers slightly faster now that Ralik has taken supplies off of him, but he still struggles pathetically under his heavy pile, his eyes welling up once more he cries out toward the party in despair and frustration "Travin's fairy went away! No No no, shiny gonna eat Travin's new fireflight friend!"
He watches as Johnathan takes a stand against the approaching machine behind the wall, if he reaches the same point he will stop behind Johnathan and lift his wooden beam like a lever above his head.
Kerwyn is following the others, although confused by why everyone is running. “What are we running from, a little vacuum, a little cleaner, what’s the harm? I am sure that they will just stop if we tell them to. How do you turn the thing off?”
Kerwyn stops for a moment , strikes a pose with his hand out in a “Stop” fashion, and shouts at the top of his lungs, in a deep booming baritone voice, “Turn that thing off! This tunnel is clean, we don’t need any of your help thank you! You should cease and desist!!” He shouts this in common (and goblin, he thinks) towards the commotion, and then listens for sounds of continued machinery / noise.

Delphinium finds themselves with a rather polite rat but after some tea, biskets and exchanging of gifts the massive spiked machine makes its way past Delphinium and Macim Ratticus. The fairy spots a lot of goblins working this machine from behind. It appears to be a large spinning disk of death that two goblins make spin by jumping on a pair of pedals like they are riding one of those bicycle things Delphinium has seen big people on. Looks fun! However Delphinium has a friend to save and they are not going to waste anytime. They can't see past the bladed spinning disk but it sounds like it caught onto something and began to dig through. Perhaps a wall was put up? The fairy doesn't ahve time to consider as they spring into action to surprise the goblins. Flying straight into the middle of them like a bolt of blue lightning they begin the familiar concentration of summoning their astral form. Right as they get into the mix of the goblins on the open platform Delph makes a quick calculation on who to target first. Two goblins seems to have spears. Two have mortals and two are lighting some kind of bombs. Delphinium thinks they won't use the bombs in the middle of their friends and Delphinium isn't going to be able to get out of here if they don't take out the attacking goblins first. There should be enough room between Travin and the machine to let delph knock out a few goblins before stopping the machine.
As such The first thing Delph does is summons his giant blue fists. One for each goblin as Delph sends out massive flying punching in every directions. Wanting to hit the two spear wielding goblins, the two mortar goblins, the two bomb goblins and the two goblins pedaling the machine. With that in place the first threat is the spear goblins and the fairy wastes no time in their surprise opening of attacks to punch them. The first hit another massive blue fist following up from their summon directed by the fairy to pile drive the goblin int he chest. Violent but shouldn't be fatal as Delph never aims to kill even when summoning the fists in the first place. Ideally the fairly gets their wish of knocking them out. If the goblins is still standing they will attempt to finish knocking them out with a big blue hand chop to their head. otherwise they aim the chop at the next spear wielding goblin. All Delph needs to do is knock out 8 goblins before they can hurt Travin. An easy task in their mind but only time will tell as they continue their assault to beat up 8 goblins.
Move action: fly 40
Bonus action: Summon Astral Arms (DC 17 Dex save or each takes 4 force damage)
Action: Attack, 2 attacks. (17 to hit 11 force damage) + (27 to hit for 7 force damage)

The world itself feels like it's falling down as the noise of the mechanism reaches a crescendo and the wall explodes out toward the party.
Now with a good look at this death machine the group sees a whirling drill of churning blades the only relief in which is two gaps, just wide enough to fire projectiles through, which sit either side toward the top of the oncoming death.
As it makes its unstoppable advance, Ludo does his best to slow it down hurling a large boulder at it which gets churned to dust in seconds, the lumbering beast groans in in response, frustrated.
Travin moves a rope back and forth in his hands, the rope is attached to his heavy beam as central as is possible, he sets the beam on the floor and for a moment Travin looks at the hand crafted chunk of wood lovingly, before casting the unattached end of the rope as far along the tunnel as he can into the path of the spinning deluge of blades. He mutters something in a celestial tongue...
"Should you lay down your life in service to Travin, I will forever treasure your sacrifice, you beautiful piece of ******* wood"
With those strange words said, Travin locks eyes with Johnathan humming eerily through his nose as he does. Johnathan receives Bardic Inspiration
Ward realizes that we are not leaving the tunnel and sighs for a moment, then seeing Delph sneak behind the machine gives him an idea. Moving his focus from the storm to the ground in front of him the pattern on his cape change to fur and white claws before a burst of magical energy erupts, 8 GIANT BADGERS fill the space a little bit ahead of the machine. Ward sends a command with the magic for them to (when it's their turn) burrow below and come up behind the machine. (Ward casted Summon Animals)
Delph doesn't give the goblins a chance to react before following up with more attacks with so many targets within range Delphinum unleashes an assault of fists to make sure they start to take out at least a few of them. If the spear holding goblins didn't fall they will continue to focus on knocking them out then they move onto the mortor goblins. Again, Delph never tries to kill but rather beat up till they run away, give up or passout. As they assail them the tiny fairy will say "Stop this thing or I'll keep kicking all your asses!"
Main Action: 2 attacks (11 to hit 7 force damage) (19 to hit 7 force damage)
Bonus Action: Flurry of blows 2 attacks 1 ki point (17 to hit 9 force damage) (10 to hit 10 force damage)
Delphinium's attack caught the Goblins off-guard, and all of them caught at least one fist. The two spear wielding Goblins were knocked out pretty fast and fell off the back of the machine, but the artillery Goblin was far, far tougher. Its armor gonged as Delphinium beat the Hell out of it...but it didn't go down.
Suddenly there were badgers everywhere, and one immediately began trying to dig at its summoners command. It was successful in getting underground before the tank could get to it.
Ralike flies as close as he can to the ceiling, pressing his back to it and casts Darkness on his physical sword, then tries to get as close as he can to the giant drill while keeping a safe distance from its vicious spinning drill head though chancing a raking from the claws, hoping to cover the ranged attackers line of sight to his party members on his side of the conflict. He couldn't do much but he could hinder the sight of his enemy enough to buy time or even scare the operators. He saves a spell to Misty Step to the other side of the contraption if a way to see to the other side of the conflict arises.
Technical stuff:
Held action for reaction: Misty Step to the other side of contraption if the opportunity arrises to see that side.
Spell slots: 1/2 if no reaction occurs, 0/2 if reaction occurs
"Drat! Bad guys!" One of the heavily armored, gun toting Goblins shouts as it turns toward Delphinium and looks surprised. It hops around for a second on one foot and then fires its mortar at Delphinium, detonating the shell on the side of the tunnel. There's an explosion, but Delphinium is unhurt...and then darkness enshrouds them. The Goblin shouts curses, and the there are gunshots in Delphinium's general direction, but the Fairy is unhurt as they are bathed in magical darkness.
The chaos that erupts around her with the machine and the badgers and the darkness and the sound of Delph fighting on his own, after her own experience she just went through, was almost too much to handle. It was a good thing she was good at compartmentalizing. Once the darkness fell, all sight of the enemies was gone, though she does have an idea where those holes were in the machine with some goblins hidden within. Thinking that being her only option, she draws her shortbow and notches an arrow - letting it fly where she thinks a goblin might be..
Johnathan shakes out of his frozen position and looks at the machine. He sees those holes on the top for a brief moment before magical darknesses covers it. Almost forgot about that ability. Johnathan pulls Echo out of his pocket. Fly my pretty, fly. With that Johnathan orders his familiar to fly through the tiny weapon holes to get inside the machine. Johnathan loses his senses as he sees through his familiar. Once inside Johnathan will try to see the mechanism inside the machine to determine how it works and ,more importantly, how to steer it into a wall to make room for use to get though.
Action: Investigation check to determine how to steer the cleaner: 11

Kerwyn hears the machinery sound… stop. He sees a blob of darkness in front of him and everything gets very confusing. Hard for him to process. So what does he do? He throws his glaive at it of course, hoping to hit whatever troublemaker is behind this monstrosity and bring them to some righteous justice, Kerwyn style. “Pecs, do your magic!!” as he flings his thrown glaive trying to connect with any goblin. Afterward, the glaive returns to his hand.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The glaive arcs into the darkness but, somehow, only hits its target only one time as the darkness makes it hard for anyone to see anything.
The BADGERS set to work, turning snout down to dig into the ground.
There is a loud report as a weapon fires in the dark, and suddenly there's an explosion in the bands midst.
"THAT is the Cleaners!" Hoggle says indignantly to Johnathan as he points into the magical darkness. "There'll be Goblins operating it from the rear! They use it to destroy everything in the catacombs to keep them open! That includes us!"
"Sir Hoggle, are thou so craven?" Sir Didymus nods as magical darkness falls over the incoming construct. "Rest assured, for I am here, and I have the situation in hand!"
Sir Didymus didn't waste anymore time. He started to spur Ambrosius forward...but the dog is cut down in the explosion.
"Ambrosius!" Didymus shouts, shocked, as his fuzzy companion clips forward and piles it up in the center of the tunnel, unconscious. "My noble steed, my oldest friend! By the Goddesses, I shall avenge thee!"
And then, with little adieu, the Lupine rushed forward into the darkness swinging his maul. There is a loud gong as Didymus hits the metal object while barking furiously.
From behind the Cleaner's tank there are more reports as something takes shots in the dark at Delphinium. There's an explosion nearby the wings the Fairy, but two gunshots both miss them. There's another explosion as the Fairy somehow miraculously catches a bomb and tosses it away, and then there is a second explosion...followed by the sounds of Goblins shrieking in the dark.

DM of AURYN: The Measure of Devotion - Escape from New York
Wing'ed boots charge: Winged Boots - 3/240 minutes

DM of AURYN: The Measure of Devotion - Escape from New York
The chaos that erupts around her with the machine and the badgers and the darkness and the sound of Delph fighting on his own, after her own experience she just went through, was almost too much to handle. It was a good thing she was good at compartmentalizing. Once the darkness fell, all sight of the enemies was gone, though she does have an idea where those holes were in the machine with some goblins hidden within. Thinking that being her only option, she draws her shortbow and notches an arrow - letting it fly where she thinks a goblin might be..
Attack: 16 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
The arrow whips through the darkness...and then there's a gurgling gurk! somewhere unseen. The mechanical sound stops...

It is Johnathan's turn
DM of AURYN: The Measure of Devotion - Escape from New York
Attack 1 : Attack: 9 Damage: 13
Attack 2 : Attack: 14 Damage: 11
