Lillian tells him the story. "We came upon Sikdar and Gundren's dead horses on our way here. They had been captured by goblins under the control of a bugbear named Klarg. We rescued Sildar and captured Klarg, but Gundren had already been taken away to whomever Klarg was working for."
He listens to the story and says "Oh my... really unfortunate, that is. Gundren's a good man, I don't know what these brutes want with him. I'll make sure to let his brothers, Nundro and Tharden, know about this when they come back to resupply. They are usually camped outside the town, but they should be back any day now."
The lads finish bringing the crates in and give old Barthen a thumbs up. He smiles and pulls out a leather pouch.
"Fifty gold pieces, as agreed. Thank you. And thank you for letting me know. I'll be here if you need supplies at any point."
(I haven't seen many messages about splitting the gold rewards. Whenever you get a sum, please add your part to your sheets if you weren't doing so already. In this case, it would be 10 gold each.)
Maris will return to the group when he's done resting. He'll leave the ruffian in the woods. He will however, be wearing his new travelers clothes. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say the clothes fit like a: 8
"Well, I feel better. Sorry about that, I've never been attacked quite as badly as that before. I'm not sure what it was that got into me. Hopefully there were no other problems? I'm not quite sure what to do with myself now. This quiet mountain village is not as quiet as I was lead to believe."
"With our business with the wagons done, I think we need to make a choice. Do we interrogate Klarg to find at least a rough idea where Gundren got taken, or do we see about taking out these ruffians?"

(remember that we got 50gp from the Lionshield coster as well. So 20gp for each in total for these two deliveries)
"I suppose you're right, Teslyn"Tessa agrees. "Our deliveries are done, so no excuse for prolonging the matter with our captives. We can start with the ruffian. Who wants to handle the interrogations? Unfortunately, I'm not very intimidating personality..."
Assuming our DM is still with us, Maris will lead the way back to the hopefully still unconscious (and definitely not tied up) ruffian in the woods.
(Absolutely, just a bit busy in this period, that's all. I still haven't received an answer from Duncan's player.)
You get back to the spot where you've left the ruffian and, thankfully, he is still there and asleep. Judging from experience, he should be waking up soon, either by himself, or with the help of some good old water.
"I can take a shot at the interrogation," Teslyn says, then she slaps the ruffian to try to wake him up.
The ruffian wakes up abruptly. He looks around, struggles to escape, but realizes there's no way out of Maris's grip.
"You don't know who you're effing with. Let me go or your heads will be sent flying when the rest hear about this."
(Teslyn, feel free to pick an ability you think might help you in this interrogation and roll a check for it. But also explain how that ability applies in this case. [e.g. strength would be used to induce harm])
Tessa stands nearby and watches the proceedings. The usually talkative halfling now stands silent and bites her lip. She knows getting some information is important, but this interrogating doesn't stand well with her.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"The way I see it, we beat you and your friends pretty handily, and how much is it going to hurt to just confirm you are working out of the Sleeping Giant? We can let you skip town so you don't have to worry about reprisals from your friends, or sharing their fate,"
[[I suppose it's intimidation using charisma as I'm just talking. Roll: 8]]

Maris perks up, suddenly remembering he had the Ruffian...
"Let us return to my little hiding spot in the woods, where he is tied up, definitely tied up."
