Tessa bites her lip, deep in thought as she watches the fallen ruffians. "They seemed to be waiting for us. But were they just praying on what they thought was merchants?"
The Halfling wipes her blade clean and sheathes it. "But it's seems like they have had a free reign in here for too long. It's time someone stands against them, even if it has to be us."
"Perhaps this one will be better company than the bugbear."
Maris will squat next to the unconscious redbrand, disarm him of weapons, pull off his mask and cloak, take him by the ankle, and drag him into the tavern. He then uses his new rope to tie him to the chair. Then he goes up to the bar to address the innkeep, holding his stomach.
"Sorry for the trouble. Something to drink please." and he will put down 1gp and sit across from his new companion, where he will take a Short Rest and wait for him to come to.

Before you can do any of that, the innkeeper says "what are you doing man?! Who is that? Solve this business of yours elsewhere. This is an inn, not a prison, for heaven's sake!"
The few clients of the inn are also visibly distressed as they stop midway through their conversations just to look at this.
"I was going to let him go- *sigh* Never you mind."
He's untying the ruffian, and now there's more ankle-dragging. This time headed to the woods outside of town, where he will be tied to a tree, and I can finally take a short rest.
Lillian suggests that they get out of the now bloody street. However, she is confused as they were on their way to Barthen's, but Maris wandered off with one of the ruffians toward the inn. She looks to the others for guidance.
Teslyn speaks, "I'm gonna take the wagons over to Barthen's to square up there, someone help Maris, I think he seems to think he is acting alone and can't, y'know, chill out while someone else takes care of the prisoner. He looks like he is headed out of town when we could tie up that ruffian lots of places."

"I will head to Barthen's with you. I am not that good at questioning prisoners anyway and I should see what Barthen has in stock that I might need. Not to mention figuring out how much coin I will need to scrape together to get it."
Maris is going to drag the unconscious ruffian only about 200ft from the town, so the town's clearly visible. He's going to forget to tie up the ruffian and plop down on the ground, "It's been a busy day," he says to the ruffian.
(Sorry for the late reply. I've been very busy. I also don't know what's happening with Duncan's player... I left them a message, but in case they don't respond or are no longer interested in playing, I might have to find a new player for the party.)
A lean and balding human male shopkeeper of fifty years with a kindly manner welcomes you in: "Hello, travelers. Anything I can help with today?"
"We've got a wagon full of supplies for Gundren Rockseeker, wee were told you'd take possession of them?"
He briefly repositions his spectacles on his nose and nods. "Ah yes, thank you."
And he looks to the back of the store, "boys, we got a delivery." You see as two young men rush out to help with the wagon's load."Those are Ander and Thistle," he says, "It's good to have a helpful hand around here. I'm not quite as young as them anymore, haha..."

Maris can take his short rest and spend some hit dice if he wishes so, but it might take an hour or two before the ruffian wakes up.
Lillian tells him the story. "We came upon Sikdar and Gundren's dead horses on our way here. They had been captured by goblins under the control of a bugbear named Klarg. We rescued Sildar and captured Klarg, but Gundren had already been taken away to whomever Klarg was working for."

((Are their weapons worth anything?))
"Do you think they were on some kind of errand?" Lillian holds up the money. "Platinum does not seem like mugger money."
It's not in the best condition, and the merchants would probably not want anything that came from the redbrands anyway.
"I don't know..."

Lillian looks around the shop for anything that might be used as a spell book. "Has Sildar been by to explain what happened to Master Rockseeker?"
You can see a few blank tomes if that's what you're looking for.
"I don't think I've seen him yet, no. Did anything happen?" he says.
Meanwhile, the young men are working on the wagon load, bringing the crates in one by one.
