Petros calls out to the group “I found some stuff in the chest! Also there’s some note which mentions that inn and this Irven person.” He takes 35 gp and the statuette.
Bones goggles at the map. "This is beautiful! I've never seen anything like it! It doesn't have a singe on it either... it and the other remaining objects must be magical in nature!" He looks at the Dwarf with regret in his eyes. "These things are not ours to take though..." He will not rob the dead or dying, and so places the scroll back down. "We came here to help people. Not to help ourselves." He turns and leaves.
(In the scroll case is a cosmological map of the heavens. Overall worth a small amount of gold perhaps, but there is nothing otherwise extraordinary about it)
As the party leaves the cave, Cade bundles up once again against the bitter cold. He tightens his coat and puts up his hood. Then he leads the way back to the town and heads straight for the inn.
In the common room, he orders a tankard of ale first thing and then stands as closely by the fire as safely possible. “All that muckery with them bandits is ma’ing me thirsty.” He laughs. Refreshed from the drink, he talks to the inn’s owner. “Good afternoon Sir. We are loo’ing for a dwarf by the name of Irven Liel. ‘e wouldn’t be around would ‘e?”
The downstairs of this inn features a large taproom. A gray-haired dwarf behind the bar greets you cheerfully as you enter. Two male humans and two tiefling children laugh among themselves as they enjoy a meal together.

"Sure I'm him! Come on over and sit with us! What do you all need? Looking for a new book to read perhaps? Got a fresh, un-sticky copy of -Tusk Love- if that's your thing!" He laughed and winked.

Gellwins smile dropped, " No. This is important."
" Have you recently acquired a blue vial? Have you or others handled it with your bare hands?"
Irven's face falls a bit. "Possibly. Some dwarf lady sold us some relics a bit ago, was going to try and make a bit of coin with them. Think there was a blue vial, why?"
Gellwin looked to the Doc and seemed about to step back and let him speak when he caught sight of the kids again and couldn't stop himself.
" It carries a very dangerous curse or disease which turns anyone who comes in contact with it to ice, the person you bought it from has already succumbed as well as a number of others."
Bones nods as Gellwin speaks. "I am Doctor Silas McRoy, and we have been sent on behalf of the town administrator. I can confirm a magical disease is spreading, and our investigation so for indicates the substance within the vile may be the source. You and your entire family, and anyone else who have come in contact with it, may be in mortal peril. Please, tell us where it is and if anyone has handled it directly?"
Irven suddenly looked panicked, reaching into his bag and pulling out a bundle of cloth, unwrapping it with shaky hands until a small blue vial with a crack near the top appeared. "Yes! Is this it!? All of us have touched it while we packed! What's going to happen!?"
Bones blinks a moment as the implication sets in, but tries to maintain his composure so others remain calm. "That appears to be the match to the description we were given, but we will have to examine it further. In the meantime, you and your family, and anyone else you know of who came in contact with it, or any of you, need to be confined to rooms until we determine if any are sick." In a forced hopeful tone he says. "We have not yet shown that direct contact guarantees infection, and there is a chance some or all of you may be fine. Time will tell us. And while we wait I will be working with the others on a cure."

Gellwin shrugs, " We should probably still check the inn first to see if anyone there touched the vial."
" I'm fine, Doc. And if I'm not theres bugger all we can do about it currently.", Gellwin grinned.
“One vial down, one left to go. I’m ready to go to the inn, assuming everyone else is.” Petros says while discreetly pocketing the map.
(@gnomes i am assuming the inn is in town. is that correct?)
(@comic sounded to me like the map merely decorates the scroll case. maybe there is a scroll inside?)
(its a bit of a dilemma, but i think Cade wouldn’t loot from the dying either. though these might be magic items :) )
(Yes the inn is in town)
(is something in the scroll case?)

The owner nods over at the family.
Gellwin looked over at the family, " Oh..no...I hope the children haven't been exposed..."
" She never actually said dwarf did she....I just kinda of assumed because of Uthodurn and some other stuff....silly us."
Gellwin approached the family, " Hello, I'm Gellwin. I'm looking for Irven."
"Sure I'm him! Come on over and sit with us! What do you all need? Looking for a new book to read perhaps? Got a fresh, un-sticky copy of -Tusk Love- if that's your thing!" He laughed and winked.
