Kha continues to lead the group down the road a bit longer until he sure that they are safe. Behind heavy breathes, he turns to Trem, eyes crackling with the storm inside him. "What makes you such an expert on what is and isn't evil?! Folks used to say the thing about my kind."
Roxaria sprints after everyone. Once a safe distance, she catches her breath. “Nice job, Kha. I think you just saved our butts back there.”
Seeing Kha and Trem begin to spool up, she steps in between. “Hey, think we can argue this over drinks at Palebank? We still have some distance to cover and that thing is still out there. Trem? Kha? Nobody did anything wrong. Trem, you’re right. Someone, maybe us, will now have to deal with two of those. Kha, you really came through back there. You saved our asses by keeping momma pre-occupied.”
She looks to the two of them. “Trem, if there was any evil back there, Kha was able to dissuade it with an act of goodness. Kha, I admit, I was scared also and were circumstances any different, that could have been me trying to dispatch the creature.”
Kha glances down at Roxaria who's steps in the middle of the two. "Well, I would like to do that too, but he won't be quiet about it."
The orc turns and paces about the area, taking a moment to take a couple more deep breaths before continuing. "I'm not asking because I don't know... I'm asking because I'd like to know what you think makes something evil. To me, all I saw back there was a momma trying to protect it's baby. And if it's laying eggs around here, then this must be it's lands. You want to face-off on the battlefield against these things go right ahead, but I'm not going to sit idly by while something seconds old that's done nuthin' to nobody gets killed for no good reason."
”Okay, okay, okay, guys. Trem, five minutes please. Kha, this way.” Roxaria places her hands on Kha’s chest and gently walks Kha backwards, pushing him away from Trem, putting some space between the two.
”You know, before I ended up in Palebank I joined the Glassblades because I wanted to get away from home, but also to serve others, protect them. My first assignment was in Uthadorn. I was straight out of bootcamp when I met him. Sergeant Yincan Quilo. He was extremely helpful integrating me into the unit. You see, I was only one of three other females in that unit. So he really helped keep the other Glassblades off my back, or so I thought. Turns out, he wasn’t as nice as he made himself out to be. He groomed me. He was playing the nice, helpful Sergeant when really he was working to gain my trust. I let my guard down and he tried taking advantage of me.”
Roxaria pauses a moment. She turns around, knowing that Trem was still nearby and probably listening. Her voice fills with anger, but then calms down again. “I punched him and I tried to report him. Instead, his leaders hid me out here in Palebank to sweep the whole ordeal under the rug. I guess what I’m trying to say is that, good and evil can be challenging to distinguish. We can talk about it all day long and probably never come to a conclusion. Can we all agree that Kha saved our lives back there and that we may end up bumping into that creature and/or it’s momma at some later point?”
Roxaria leaves an uncomfortable pause and then twirls away from Kha and Trem, heading back to Willoughby and Mella. ”We need to get back to Palebank We’re wasting time. Our focus is finding a cure for this sickness.”
All anger has left Trem's voice. It seems I've got a 100 or so summers on you. I tend to forget that... I've seen more evil than you'll ever will. Well, that's what I hope for you. I've seen great Evil, lesser evil and everything in between. And you know what Kha? There's evil in everything! In me, in you.. even in Eline! We're like rotten apples, some of us only have a few rotten spots but still... What matters is that we try to do good, despite being evil. I thought I had a few more centuries... it doesn't look like that anymore... so I tried to slay evil while I stil could. But you did what you thought was good. I'm sorry for lashing out! But there's evil here in Palebank also... I think I'm going to pay Hulil a visit.
"I may not have as many years as you, but I've found out that you tend to find what you want to see. We ain't the biggest in the food chain in these lands. That doesn't mean that those that are above us in that chain are evil. Evil is..." Kha gives Roxaria a glance just trails off, "Well, nevermind." He shakes his head, knowing it's a matter of differing points-of-view. The orc falls to the back to the line to continue the journey back to town
As they enter Palebank Village Roxaria turns to Trem, ”Do you want us to accompany you to Tulgi’s home? That’s where Hulil went to after leaving us, if I recall. If not, I’m curious about this Irven Liel guy that has been staying at the Jolly Dwarf. Supposedly, Hulil sold that other vial to him. I hope he still has the vial. Also, I’m starving for some good food and drink.”
Trem's mouth falls open, a look of disbelief on his his. Subsequently he softly growls at Kha: Just don't get in my way again. As Trem walks away to Roxaria you can hear him muttering: ...the freaking food chain...
To Roxaria he replies: It depends. Do you also want to make sure Hulil doesn't die from the Fridgid Woe?

”I understand where you’re coming from, Trem. I think there is something deeper that is affecting Kha that we just do not know about. Regarding Hulil, certainly I do not want her to die from this. More importantly, I also do not want you to die from this. If that merchant has the last vial, I hoped that maybe it is a lead or an answer to curing this. I will go with you to Hulil if you want to make sure she doesn’t pull anything sneaky on us like that darned chest trap.”
Trem's mouth falls open, a look of disbelief on his face. Subsequently he softly growls at Kha: Just don't get in my way again. As Trem walks away to Roxaria you can hear him muttering: ...the freaking food chain...
Kha snorts at the attempted intimidation and smirks as the wood elf stomps off, clearly not impressed by Trem's puffery. "I guess this sickness is finally having an effect on him... Whelp, I think it's time for a drink. Anyone else?"The orc lets out a long sigh of exhaustion and makes for the Jolly Dwarf.
“Let’s. I am curious if this Irven fellow is still boarding there and if he has the vial.” Roxaria follows Kha to the Jolly Dwarf, thoughts of a good, hot meal in her belly.
Trem just nods to Roxaria. He's clearly surrounded by idiots. Since Roxaria doesn't understand that Trem wants to kill her before the Frigid Woe does, he's going to have to do it himself. Maybe when they are sleeping?
Ok, let's go. I'm starving for some fried baby Remorhaz!
Eline is deeply concerned. Watching her companions bicker and argue, especially among Trem, Roxaria, and Kha. Following the group into the Jolly Dwarf, she keeps an eye on her friends, keeping silent mostly. Then Kha has a bit of an outburst, and storms out of the inn. Eline throws Trem a concerned look, and goes outside after the orc.
"Kha," she calls out, Kha, wait!" Her short frame is no match for his ground-eating strides. Nevertheless, she barely manages to catch up to him.
"Kha, hang on!"
She matches his strides as best she can. Gods, but he wasn't happy. "Hey."

(Well, not sure if Trem is safe yet... LOL)

If have to ask... if you really don't know the difference between good and evil... Tell me, how many summers have you seen?

"A score and four, if you have to know."

Welloughby nods and after an hour of travel the party is back in Palebank village.
Its currently late morning

Eline watches as Trem, Kha, and Roxaria argue the points of morality between what was good, and what was evil. She keeps to herself, and says nothing.
Reginald remains quiet... still a little embarrassed about misjudging what type of egg it actually was...
Cats go Moo!

Where does everyone want to go.
The Jolly Dwarf inn
Tulgi's cabin
Elro at the town hall.
Kha snorts at the attempted intimidation and smirks as the wood elf stomps off, clearly not impressed by Trem's puffery. "I guess this sickness is finally having an effect on him... Trem just nods to Roxaria. He's clearly surrounded by idiots. Since Roxaria doesn't understand that Trem wants to kill her before the Frigid Woe does, he's going to have to do it himself. Maybe when they are sleeping?

"Bah!I hope you choke on it!"
Kha immediate turns on his heel and heads out the door.
