“That is much better! Thank you so much Khess.” Jasper gives Khessa a lingering smile before walking the area.
Jasper will rest and take the last watch.
"We seem to work well together!" smiles back Khessa "And for me it's a..." (it takes her a few seconds to choose the last word, but from the way she finally pronounces it, it is clear that she is pleased to have found the most fitting term) "...pleasure".
This time the blonde arcane warrior chooses to take the penultimate watch. She accompanies the elf when he goes to bed, she chooses a place next to his to lie down, she lets a caress linger on his cheek before falling asleep and wishes him: "Good night Jasper".
When it's time, she wakes up to stand watch and, at the end of her turn, she wakes the cleric by whispering softly in his ear, cheek to cheek, so that the awakening is not too abrupt: "Hey Jasper... it's your turn now".
When he wakes up, with her face still very close to his, the tall warrior-mage smiles at him: "Now I'll start sleeping again... and peacefully I'll sleep, because I know that the person who gave me the beauty of the night is watching over me".
The sound of Khessa’s voice is both peaceful and invigorating. And when she lays down next to Jasper with her arm draped over his chest, hand touching cheek. He has a difficult time obtaining his rest meditation. After Khessa says goodnight and falls asleep, her breath soon deepened and becomes a welcoming sound. Jasper calms his nerves and begins deeply meditating.
Jasper comes out of meditation when Khessa’s cheek touches his and for a moment, he softly leans in to the contact. Hyper aware of her warmth. He opens his eyes smiling as she speaks. “Yes of course! It’s my watch and you must rest.” Jasper arises and dons his armor and grabs his shield and spear. Before leaving the room to stand post at the north end of the temple passage, Jasper lingers at the door thinking.
‘I’ll keep you safe…’

Echo’s perception during her watch: 3
Echo finds a shady corner to keep watch from, and a few hours later, she pats Rel, whose face is serious even in sleep, on the arm lightly to wake her up for second watch. She rummages around in her satchel and takes out a sugar coated bread in paper bags. She hands it to Rel and winks, speaking softly, “midnight snack!” Finding a nice spot on the ground, propped up against one of the stone beds, she very quickly falls asleep.
Dazlyn and Norbus agree to stay with you and they bunk down in the room with the stone beds. Norbus snores terrifically throughout the night, but Dazlyn is a sound, quiet sleeper.
During Khessa's watch she notices a distant sound, almost like footsteps, and the sound of muffled voices in a language that doesn't sound like Common. She hears what may be the clink of armor.
Rel isn't one for sugary snacks, but she finds herself touched by the gift from the intriguing and endearingly silly magic-user. A little like Roywyn!
"Thank you, Echo Thornhill. Sleep well and wake." She settles in and nibbles on the bread during her watch, not knowing if it would be rude not to finish.
...During Khessa's watch she notices a distant sound, almost like footsteps, and the sound of muffled voices in a language that doesn't sound like Common. She hears what may be the clink of armor.
'The trap we had set at the entrance should have sprung, if the intruders had entered the complex...' Khessa thinks '...unless they were able to see it and avoid it'.
As a precaution, the blonde arcane warrior wakes up her companions one by one (Jasper in the sweet way described above, the others simply touching them on the shoulder), warning them in a low voice: "I heard approaching noises. Maybe armored people. Be silent and prepare to defend yourselves".
To the dwarves: "Should a fight break out, stay in the room, away from the battle. We will defend the entrance to the room, so the intruders can only approach a few at a time".
The tall warrior-mage takes a position just inside the room so as to block the entrance if the invaders get there, greatsword ready in hand, her mind already focused on the spells she knows. She prepares a pebble with Light and keeps it hidden in her pocket; when the noises come to the hallway leading to the room, she pulls it out and throws it across the hall to suddenly illuminate the intruders.

Jasper after the soft awakening, he quietly but quickly grabs his shield and spear. Looking to the others and a again at Khessa, he sneaks through the passage to the far end just passed the southward corridor. Hiding in the dark and waiting for intruders.

Rel is no stranger to waking up in the dark to potential enemies. She remembers sleep after sleep, while trying to escape the Underdark, huddled with Roywyn in fear. Her eyes flick open when she wakes and she arises silently to try to pad over to a hidden vantage point.
If one of the interlopers appear within her 60' of darkvision, her black earrings will pulse as she uses a bonus action to place a Hex spell on them (extra 1d6 damage, disadvantage on Strength checks.) while remaining hidden.

Hair falls in her face like a ghost, Echo hums, nods to what Khessa says, and brushes the strands back haphazardly. She wakes easily in the dark and turns to poke her head above the stone bed. She squints, looking over the stone beds, just to see who it is.
Perception: 19 (she has 120' darkvision)
A little bummed that they can't even get a nice rest after destroying a very important-looking statue and overcome with the urge to mess with these intruders, she gets up into a crouching position and says menacingly, voice accompanied by faint eerie musical notes "...who disturbs our slumber?"
"Echo..." whispers Khessa to her friend "Are you trying to make the intruders believe there are ghosts here? If it is so," she turns to Rel "maybe one of your illusions, Rel Serafin, could reinforce this impression... Who knows, maybe we can scare them away without fighting? Do you think you can manage a ghostly dwarf? (Unless you have already a better course of action in mind, that is)".
Jasper at the end of the passage is a bit surprised at the site of a ghostly dwarf appearing out of nowhere. He grabs his symbol of the Moon Maiden and stays ready and quiet.

Khessa begins to feel uncomfortable in the dark, as time passes and she waits for the mysterious invaders to approach. The drow had come out of the dark... In the dark she had passed her and his family's life, after they had been captured and led into the Underdark... In the dark she had suffered everything - and even believed she had lost everything before that the memory of a motto of her mother, Eshta Finegarten, had shaken her, causing her to react - and ultimately to escape.
And now, there is darkness again... She almost expects, at any moment, an unjustified blow, or a sudden mockery, or a peremptory order, or a humiliating contact...
'It's not the same dark anymore...' tries to convince herself the blonde arcane warrior, while her heartbeat and breathing accelerate 'Thanks to Echo I learned the magic... I have a pebble in my pocket that gives off light... I could shed some light immediately if I took it out. But that would be stupid. We need to surprise our attackers. I must be strong. My companions... I cannot fail them. Right. Companions. Not only do I have magic, but they too. Echo, who assured me that she would be next to me in the darkness. To her, the dark is not frightening. She sees through it. And Jasper' at that thought the tall warrior mage seems to be able to feel a little calmer. 'I also have Jasper. He managed to make me see the dark as he does. As Echo sees it. For what it is. Just a bit dull gray. Nothing terrible. Boring greyness. Nothing more. Jasper will be by my side too. Maybe he's right here...' she tries to find him slowly with her hand '... but even if he wasn't here now,' she comfort herself after she fails to find him 'this doesn't mean he can't get there. Or that he may not need me, should a fight break out! And how do I want to be found? Like a frightened, shivering child?'
Having mustered enough determination to at least not visibly tremble, Khessa continues to wait for the noises of the intruders coming to the hallway leading to the room.
As you sneak toward the source of the sound, the intruders apparently hear your approach for you hear shouting and the sounds of rushing feet approaching you. The sounds briefly stop as Rel asks in her ghostly voice who would dare to disturb the party's slumber, but the sound of yelling shortly resumes. As Rel's illusion appears, the shouting rises in volume, and you see a group of three orcs brandishing weapons. They stop short at the illusion, looking at each other uncertainly and with fear, but the biggest orc, apparently the leader, swings his sword toward the illusion and charges toward it, his cronies not far behind.
As they come into the corridor outside the room with the stone beds, they stop short at the sight of the party, confused again. It seems they weren't expecting anyone to be here. But then the leader points his sword at the party and says something in a foreign language that sounds full of threat and menace. Now that all the orcs are here in the corridor, you can hear sounds coming from further down the corridor, sounds of thrashing and yelling, as if the rope trap did indeed ensnare at least one victim.
