Jane decides to drop down off of the walkway, holding her torch in one hand and shield in the other she moves to the left of the crowd, trying to get one of the spiders between herself and an ally. She says a quick prayer of blessing, then drops the torch behind her and pulls out her quarterstaff, infusing it with magic.
Move: up to 30 ft to get advantage on any spider to the east of the armored figure
The Giant Spider collapses in a heap, brought down by the arcane blast from Rantel. A soft blue light emanates from it's belly, glowing softly and spreading, lighting up small spheres across the floor, each about the size of a human head. As the light spreads it grows in intensity, until a loud crack can be heard, first just one, then another, and another and another - spreading across the cavern floor covered by the massive monster.
The Armored Figure smashes at the spiders again, desperately trying to finish them off to get free. A small piece of his armor detaches from his back and begins spinning around him, knocking back one of the spiders as it does.
'The shard, get the shard off it's belly! Quick before it's gone!'
3 Spiders left, 2 on the Armored Figure, one has been pushed 5 feet to the North. Something is happening under the Giant Spiders corpse - which is where the Armored Figure is imploring you to go.

Rantel drops down and tries to get within melee range of the spiderling west of the armored figure. He draws an old, beat-up standard issue longsword with city watch insignia on the pommel. The green flame blade flashes out to attack the spiderling and then green fire flashes onto the spiderling immediately north on a hit, for 4 fire damage.
Attack: 16 Damage: 8
(If I'm misreading the map and there are no two spiderlings to melee with, Rantel does not attack but instead goes to the flashes of light on the spider carcass and tries to figure out what the heck is going on. Investigaton: 8)
Rantel's old blade flares to life and cuts through the dog-sized assailant as it scrambles and skitters, trying to pierce the thick, dense, dark metal covering the Armored Figure.
Hogshead is up.
1 Spider still climbing on the Armored Figure and 1 pushed back a bit from him. Blue light eminating from under the corpse of the Giant Spider seems to be spreading across a large cluster of human head-sized spheres.

Hogshead wades into the carcass of the Giant Spider, ichor, and bile running freely from the rents in the monster's carapace. Reaching underneath where the light pulses, he finds a sticky mass of webbing holding something tight to the creature's undercarriage. Tearing and pulling at the webbing he manages to get himself wrapped up, caught in the ropey, sticky mass. Panicking, he fights harder, making the situation worse as the webbing begins to engulf his forearms, pulling him off balance. A warmth passes over him, as if a warm breeze blew through the dank dark cavern, and a calm took hold. A deep breath, one quick pull and he was free of the mess and solidly back on his feet.
The glowing blue shard remained wrapped in the webbing and continued to pulse it's arcane light. The cracking sound was everywhere as each of the spheres split open, and spiders began to pour forth. Fist size spiders, flea sized spiders and everything in between. Dozens of them, hundreds maybe came pouring out from the eggs underneath and around the Giant Monster. Surging forward the wave of spiders hits Hogshead's armored boots and begins searching for an opening.
Attack: 14 Damage: 8
The remaining dog-sized spiders press their attack on the Armored Figure, seemingly frenzied in their fixation.
2 Spiders still on the Armored Figure - though they seem to be ignoring everyone else 1 Swarm of Spiders on Hogshead (occupies same space) Blue lighting pulsing from under the Giant Spider, black ichor and bile streaming out Everybody else is up
Jane takes a quick mental inventory of any way that she could be useful in removing the shard, but without so much as a dagger on her she feels that the others will have a better chance at getting the shard. Instead, she rushes over next to Hogshead and looks for any spiders on the ground near him that she can try to smack with her now-magical quarterstaff.
Attack with Shillelagh: 7 for 10 Bludgeoning damage
Bree deftly pulls another arrow from her quiver, notches it and, after a quick inhale, she releases her arrow while exhaling. She aims at the swarm of spiders that is attacking Hogshead.

The distance and the dim lighting work against the careful rogue, her arrow flying wide of her mark and sailing off into the dark reaches of the cavern.
Top of the Round:
Free from the last of the spiders swarming him, the Armored Figure, springs forward, arcane light trailing from his armored boots as he nimbly leaps forward towards the downed Giant Spider. As he does, he looses two [Tooltip Not Found] into the swarm covering Hogshead, yelling at the rest of you 'We 'avent much time. These things weel keep comin' and ya can't kill 'em all. Grab the shard and let's get out of here!'
He lands next to the beardless dwarf, shoving at the swarm with his shield, trying to buy him enough breathing room to break free.
Between the firebolts and the shield shove the Swarm of Spiders is pushed back 5 feet off Hogshead to the West. Gives anyone who wants it a clean line at the Giant Spider corpse and the Shard underneath.
This time Hogshead manages to tear the webbing, the pulsing shard and a chunk of the rapidly deteriorating spider carcass free. As he does, he sees the pulsing light fade from the remaining spheres.
Hoghead clutched the shard and nervously called to his companions. "Can one of you book nerds come look at this thing and see if you can figure out what it is? I don't want it to turn me into a spider"

Dex save for Swarm of Spiders 21
Flames erupt, burning the collapsing corpse of the Giant Spider as the swarm scrabbles free of the heat.
The Armored Figure nods his head at the Tortle, impressed with his ingenuity and presence of mind. He fires of two more blasts of arcane fire at the scattered spider swarm.
Looking at Hogshead his voice booms 'Alright boyyo, ya got it! Carefully not to start into, not yet at least - but we need to get out of here - more will be coming!'
Attack 1: 26 Damage: 4 Attack 2: 10 Damage: 19
The Armored Figure's firebolts blow the last of the swarm into singed bits and pieces.
Even as the first swarm is destroyed, more cracks can be heard from the eggs scattered across the chamber, signaling the birth of another swarm.
Out of Initiative. For now.
You stand in a chamber, free from threats - at least for the moment - everyone is on the chamber floor except for Bree who is still up on the broken walkway about 15 feet in the air.
A large rotting spider corpse to the West blocks the entrance to a larger chamber - the darkness cuts off your view more than 15 ft beyond the corpse.
The tunnel you came in through appears to continue to the NorthEast on the far side of the chamber. It's 15 feet up from where you are now.
